Not only did James Logan’s Aaron Perez win an NCS championship as a freshman, he pulled off the rare feat of winning all five of his matches by pin to take the 106-pound title. Perez comes from a wrestling family, as his father, Jacob, was the first Logan wrestler to place at the state meet. His brother, Eric, also wrestled at Logan. Making it extra special was this year’s NCS tournament, which took place Feb. 27-28, being back at James Logan for the first time in almost two decades.
Thanks to Emily Santos for this contributed photo of Perez at the podium, holding the placard of the 106-pound bracket, surrounded by other 106-pound NCS medalists
