Minimal movement this week as 11 of the 15 teams occupy the same spots they did last week. St. Joseph Notre Dame and Monte Vista swapped at the 9 and 10 spots. The Mustangs do own a head-to-head win over the Pilots, but that was almost two months ago now and the nearly 30-point loss to De La Salle was enough to drop Monte Vista one spot. Dublin falls out of the poll and out of the voting completely after an 0-2 week. That moves El Cerrito up a spot and welcomes Granada into the poll. The Matadors own a win over Skyline, which is a big reason they get the edge over the Titans.

Here’s our latest poll. Very little movement again. Castro Valley jumps up two spots after it beat San Lorenzo by 20 points, two days after the Rebels handed San Leandro a loss. That loss for the Pirates, along with them getting taken to overtime by Mt. Eden, dropped San Leandro all the way to No. 12. St. Joe’s moves up two spots and Freedom and Liberty stay put despite losses to Deer Valley. Dublin also stays put after a loss to Campolindo and El Cerrito debuts in the poll after taking charge of the ACCAL with a buzzer-beating win over Berkeley.

The De La Salle-Monte Vista rivalry continues next Tuesday when they tangle on the hardwood at DLS at 7 p.m. Monte Vista won the first meeting.
So, with a good game expected, tickets will likely sell out. The DLS bookstore (right in front of the school) will be selling tickets on Monday and Tuesday from 7 am. to 3 p.m. until they sell out. Prices are $8 for adults, $5 for students.

Here’s our latest poll. Almost no movement, other than McClymonds moving back up to No. 5 and that sliding Deer Valley and Campolindo down a spot. Mack moves back up mainly because I think voters realized that they have a 30-point win over Deer Valley and none of their losses are horrible, even if they do have quite a few. Owning wins over No. 3 Newark, No. 6 Deer Valley and No. 9 Monte Vista has to count for something. Also, a note, while I updated Salesian, Campolindo and Dublin’s records based on tonight’s games, those results were not factored into the voting (although I don’t think much would’ve changed anyway).

Here’s our latest poll. Deer Valley climbs to No. 5, which seems a bit odd given their loss yesterday. But with Mack losing twice, they dropped a couple spots and that allowed the Wolverines and Campolindo to move up. Skyline deservedly breaks into the poll after earning two top-10 wins last week.

Had a couple people ask me for ticket information for Monday’s MLK Classic at Haas Pavilion, so here it is.
If you want to get a jump on buying a ticket and save some money, the De La Salle bookstore is selling tickets at $7 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
If you want to buy them at the gate, it’ll be $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. There is also another option this year, an all-day chairback seat for $15.
You’re on your own for parking in Berkeley, but if memory serves, Monday is considered a holiday and meters are not running. Check the City of Berkeley website before you go though.

Here’s our latest poll. We have a new No. 1 after De La Salle fell to Monte Vista. The Spartans’ otherwise strong resume (wins over Fairfax-Los Angeles and Lincoln-San Diego) kept De La Salle at No. 2. Newark Memorial moves up a spot after avenging an earlier loss to Jesuit, a team Bishop O’Dowd and McClymonds lost to. Monte Vista had to shoot up after its win over DLS and lands at No. 8. Dublin is the lone new team at No. 15.
