Training camp, Day 5

By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 at 6:45 pm in Oakland Raiders.

News and notes, sights and sounds from the Raiders training camp practice Tuesday:

– Coincidence or not, Josh McCown had his worst practice of training camp on the same day the Raiders signed Daunte Culpepper.

McCown had passes intercepted by Nnamdi Asomugha while deep in his own territory (he underthrew Jerry Porter) and forced one into coverage that was stolen by B.J. Ward. There was also a near-pick by safety Hiram Eugene.

– Culpepper will meet with the media following practice and Al Davis is also scheduled to talk with the press.

“He’ll be a part of the competition to be the starting quarterback,” Kiffin said. “We’ll give him the opportunity and see if he can take it, and if he can’t, he’ll be a backup.”

– Linebacker Kirk Morrison made a spectacular interception on a sideline flip from Andrew Walter to fullback Justin Griffith.

– He’s a longshot, but probably no more a longshot than Will Buchanon last year _ rookie free agent wide receiver Chris McFoy made a diving sideline grab and later broke a slant reception for big yardage.

– Practice seemed to be down a notch in terms of player enthusiasm and intensity. Coach Lane Kiffin gathered his team near the end to get more out of the final 20 plays.

– It’s a long way from behing ready to be part of a five-man chain and know line changes and blocking responsibilities, but tackle Mario Henderson is an impressive specimen during one-on-one drills with defensive linemen _ any defensive linemen.

(Keep in mind Derrick Burgess is still on PUP and can’t provide the best test).

– Guard Cooper Carlisle, linebacker Jon Condo and fullback Oren O’Neil were all yanked from the field by coaches for errors, all returning a short time later.

– Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but running back LaMont Jordan has not practiced because of a sore lower back since swinging from his heels during the Raiders’ “Home Run Derby.” Jordan launched one over a 300-foot fence.

– The Raiders are getting thin at running back. ReShard Lee went down with a knee injury after being buried on a sweep to the left. He was tended to on the field by the training staff. Dominic Rhodes missed practice with a foot injury.

– Adimchinobe Echemandu continues to be the most impressive practice runner. He seems a good fit for the one-cut style which suits a zone blocking scheme.

– Barry Sims was out with a sore abdominal muscle, with Paul McQuistan taking reps as a first-team left tackle and Robert Gallery remaining at left guard.

– Cornerback Stanford Routt was out with an unspecified minor injury, although he appeared to be moving very slowly along the sidelines.

– Jeremy Newberry and Anttaj Hawthrorne were matched in a rousing training camp scuffle in which Newberry, while holding Hawthorne’s shoulder pads with his left arm, landed at least six uppercuts to the midsection.

With all the padding, of course, neither appeared injured.

Newberry straight up punked Hawthorne. Little b!tch. No punches thrown back from Hawthorne. Damn. That boy knows his place.

I was not looking forward to the Raiders drafting JR and I’m not looking forward to the Raiders signing DC. The positive in all this is that Kiffin is willing to do anything to make this team competitive and when he strikes, he strikes fast. I guess I can’t really be mad because I would hate for our coach to just settle for what we have without doing his best to improve the team. I don’t know that DC improves the team but it should light a fire under the QB’s to let them know their job isn’t safe. I’m disappointed that the QB’s have not proven they can handle the job. I guess we can start a different QB every quarter. Start with JR in the 1st quarter, AW in the 2nd quarter, McCown in the 3rd quarter and DC in the 4th quarter.

  2. KoolKell Says:

Thanks Jerry. Jerry I’m afraid this JaMarcus Russell situation is letting air our of Kid Kiffin’s program, I’m thinking the locker rm is looking for him, holla back ;-)

RUSSELL WON’T SIGN UNTIL JOHNSON DOES
League sources continue to tell us that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft, LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell, will not sign with the Raiders until the Lions work out a deal with the No. 2 selection, Lions receiver Calvin Johnson.Because Russell’s agents have never done a No. 1 overall pick, the thinking is that they want to have the floor set by the Lions and Johnson.Whether that floor is established any time soon remains to be seen. Word is that Johnson’s mother is calling the shots on this one, and that she’s driving a hard bargain.

  4. Huff24 Says:

Calvin Johnson is having his mother do the work. Momma’s boy. A Mom is keeping our future QB from starting. MF!!!

I heard on the radio (KNBR 680am) today that one of the things that was holding up the negotiations was that there were too many cooks in the kitchen. There are 3 people working on JR’s contract and some feel that there isn’t one person working as an authority figure which is making it difficult to get the deal done. Too many people, not enough solid decisions.

  5. KoolKell Says:

    Oh my god!

  6. Coach on Wheels Says:

Go Echemandu! You can be the next Mike Anderson or Tatum Bell that nobody knows anything about until you’re putting 1500 yards on the board. Jordan’s back - again.

With Culpepper and McCown on 1 year deals and likely to NOT stick around to be a back-up to JR next season, don’t be so sure Walter won’t stick around, even if it is on the practice squad.
McCown, Culpepper, JR combo means the team goes into the offseason with only an inexperienced JR under contract.

  7. Huff24 Says:

Walter would have to clear waivers before he could be put on the practice squad and thats NOT going to happen. Someone would snatch him up quick.

  8. Lodog Says:

Huff all the uproar on the radio is based on some article written by a SF Chronicle reporter named White. From this article I would not worry. Chronicle writers like this guy and that Gay beeyatcheee just hate the Raiders and will write anything to stir up the stink pot. Not one of the sources quoted in the article had a name. Shocker.

  9. Ernesto Flores Says:

Your going to tell me that NO ONE is in charge at Oakland. That is such freakin’ BS. One year, or should all say the last twenty years all you hear is Al Davis doesn’t let anybody do anything and now all you hear is Al Davis doesn’t know what he is doing……Jesus Christ, the media is so full of SHIIIIIIIT they don’t know what to say. The first negative thing they can think of is what they start writing about. Believe me Al Davis and the Raiders although they might not have a track history with first round first picks knows exactly what he is doing. Most of the last few teams that have signed their first pick in the first round are so hardup for their save all do all that they throw all their freakin’ money at him and have made a freakin’ zoo out of this scenario. They are paying these guys way too much money and this guaranteed craaaap is a joke. I’ve written this before, but I just can’t for the life of me understand how you can pay some guaranteed money befor they do a thing. Believe me Al Davis is waiting for NOBODY except JaMarcus Russell and his agent to except HIS deal. For all you jokers that think otherwise are just sillyassssss spindoctors who are writing just to write, (Negatively,of coarse)
    Go Raiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. PercEpTivE Says:

Man, these contracts given to these rookies is a joke. How can a unproven rookie be the highest paid anything. This is got to change or the NFL is going to turn into the NBA. Screw the San Francisco Chronicle and its writers. Good job Jerry, your keeping us up to date with your and only your blogs. you the man.

  11. Huff24 Says:

Ernesto - JR has 3 agents working on his contract. I wasn’t including Al or JR in that group of 3. Those 3 agents probably have their differences and could be back and forth on issues.

Lodog - Thanks for clearing that up. I was unaware of the article. I’m in and out of my work truck so I miss alot of dialogue in between. Thanks for clearing that up.

  12. raiderstud Says:

its “of course” ernesto………way to early to tell anything about the QB situaton………one
qb will go and it wont be JR……….while I have faith in raider nation……..to say that we
have acted in the recent passed as if we know what were doing is a bit of a stretch….
…..art shell, irv eatman, jackie slater……..the worst offense ……..since the perpetual
sisters of the poor had to play a dog at reciever and a donkey at QB just to make the
team complete…………….its a 50/50 at this point to say we know what were doing……
Lets see if we actually see some real leadership in the front office…..since what we are witnessing is the raiders first taste of adversity………….looking for some silver and black
leadership on this issue………………and burning candles that our faith will be rewarded

    DAUNTE DEAL DONE
The Raiders have announced the acquisition of quarterback Daunte Culpepper. In an e-mail message regarding his arrival in Oakland, Culpepper had this to say: “I am extremely excited to be able to play for the Oakland Raiders for the 2007 season. I want to thank Mr. Davis, coach Lane Kiffen [sic] and the Raiders front office for giving me this opportunity. When I became a Free Agent I created and ranked 8 criteria that I used to evaluate potential teams that were interested in my services. Based on my criteria, the Oakland Raiders are the best fit. The Raiders are giving me the opportunity to compete for the starting job while helping QB JaMarcus Russell, when he arrives, get ready to take over for the future. I also get an opportunity to show both the Raiders and the NFL community that I am healthy and back to form after battling injuries the last two seasons. Most importantly, I appreciated that there was mutual respect as we worked through the process of coming to contract terms. I look forward to working with my new teammates and being a part of the Raider Nation!!” Hey, Daunte must really be excited. I mean, two exclamation points. Wow. And to the extent that football hadn’t already become the year-at-a-time proposition that baseball has been for a couple of decades, we now have a guy who is signing to be a team’s presumptive starting quarterback for one year, and one year only.

  14. KoolKell Says:

Thanks Huff. Sounds like a good fit to me, expectation wise. Daunte shows the world he’s back, via the Raiders. Big rollout passer, like JR.

  15. RF Says:

awesome. lower intensity and enthusiasm during practice? the heck. hope these little injuries go away soon. are a lot of other camps having injuries like ours? I wanted culpepper last year as well, instead of brooks.

  16. James Sanos Says:

glad to see DC got signed. i believe he still has something left in his tank. as for JR, i was hoping we drafted Calvin, but JR is a great QB. hopefully he will contribute to the raiders like he did LSU. JR holding out just goes to show that sports now a days are just about money and no one really cares for the game. he needs to get his ass to camp…bottom line

  17. Kman Says:

I think it’s a mistake to post Jerry’s articles on other sites, its attracting undesirables.

Keep up the good work Jerry. Thanks

  18. Blackholepriest Says:

it’s obviuos to me that on film the two QB’s were not measuring up and JR would have starter sooner than he probably should. Thus the signing of DC this is without doubt done to improve the play at that position. Daunte may not start off sharp but he brings a talent level that will give this entire team more confidence and that’s why he’s here.

Josh is a journeyman at best, he’s not proven. If the coaching staff can paar down the playbook for DC he will be able to compete at a higher level than any of the others and give this team a competitive edge early. Get some wins and biuld their confidence as he biulds his own. It’s a win win situation and Raiders are very lucky he was available.

Plus this gives JR a chance to see how a vet would handle this team which was one of my real concerns coming in to the season. I wasn’t really sure that McCown was alock to beat out Russell in training camp. Now if Daunte is at least healthy they can bring him along slowly and get him going by the bye week and then we might really have something.

Guy’s we are a much better team now than we were yesterday.

  19. RF Says:

wonder when we get to see camp pictures

TWERP’S TAKE ON FAIDAS LASTEST HAS-BEEN SIGNING

Daunte Culpepper?… Oh, the same used garbage that the lousy Vikings discarded and the losing Dolphins cut.

This is so perfect: A QB with a shredded knee (all 3 ligaments required surgery) returns too early without properly rehabbing the knee only to be jettisoned again and again.

    TWERPING TRUTH

Well, if no sane team in the NFL wants you there is always the 2-14 Jokeland Faidas.

Only idiot Raiderholic morons would twist and shout over a banged up has-been like Culpepper, who has more fumbles than any other QB since he entered the NFL.

TWERPING REALITY TO THE SILVER & CRAP CROWD

Culpepper has small hands, a crippled knee, and will be back peddling behind the worst offensive line since the AFL-NFL merger.

It all equates to a disaster of comical proportions.

    TWERP’S FINAL THOUGHTS

I can’t wait to witness more hapless Jokeland offensive comedic imitation of a football offense in 2007.

The silver & crap are the NFL’s version of comic relief.

Double digit loses are in store for the bumbling Jokeland Faidas in 2007.

Double digit win are in store for THE CHARGERS!

    Thus endeth the lesson.

  23. RF Says:

thanks huff. usually they show it on the homepage. guess not anymore.

  24. Sirbliztalot Says:

For all the lateral, marginal moves made by this organization nothing they have done has raised my eyebrow. But acquiring Simeon Rice would definitely be a brow raiser. Neglecting to remove the plank from our eye (the o-line) is going to cost us another season of disappointment. And don’t get too happy if we go 5-0 in the pre-season. Nobody wants to end up permanently disabled due to a preseason injury, so if we win it will be because nothing was on the line. Do not overrate the o-line coaching staff. Respect is earned, nobody respects our O-line because they play like a bunch of turnstile turkey’s without a tutu (not sure about the spelling but you get the point). Historically, the raiders’ O-line has been good to dominant but this group is the weakest I have every witnessed (of any team). That is the keystone of this organization, and for all the upgrades, absent addressing this elephant like problem nothing is going to change. You see, you have to score points to win games. Also iron hands Jordon has to go.

Is it that McCown’s so bad or the Raiders Defense is SOOO good?

    Twerp darling,

When you kill yourself over Norv’s dismantling of your team can have have your memerobilia?

    I’m out of TP.

Like Oakland when Chuckie left, you might get one residual year, but after that its right down the sh*tter my lady friend!

  27. Art Shell's Hat Says:

Who’s gonna be at the locker room tonight?

  28. FrogtheDountyBunter Says:

Somethin’ about Culpepper to Porter just sounds right…

  29. RaiderLover Says:

The contract holdout with Russell is a total screw-up on the part of the Raiders.
They blew it! They lost a significant amount of leverage when they drafted him. It would
have been better to work all this out before they draft (like most other teams have
done). Waiting for the Lions to ink Johnson is pretty lame. Russell is losing valuable time to learn the system, get reps, etc. that he won’t be able to get later. The front office needs to take “Negotiating 101″ before next year’s draft…

  30. What? Says:

Jerry - Jordan hit one over a 300-foot fence? Man, the A’s better sign him STAT!
I have yet to meet a man that can hit a ball over a fence that is 300-feet high!

  31. Raider Jay Says:

The Raiders know, and Russell knows, they have to come to some sort of agreement about a fair amont of money based on slotting the money. If Russell didn’t sign with the Raiders and he had to return to the draft next year, he knows there is a very good chance he will not be the first pick The money involved between this year at the one pick, and next year at not being
the one pick is so great that the Raiders know that Russell’s agent has to get it done this year, or he will cost Jamarcus millions of dollars if he went back into the draft and wasn’t the first pick. The Raider also know they have got themselve in a position that time is not important to them, but it is to Russell. I think the Raiders are in position to string it out, if not, then Russell goes back to next year draft and that is not going to happen. The Raiders know they have the strong hand to play. How would you like to be the agent and lost the one pick, and the million that goes with it?

  32. Northern Raider Says:

So we signed the rhino…Good move Al. If his knee’s okay, the least this signing will do is force McCown and Walter to up their games a few notches. At best, we will have a top-notch QB who allows Kiffin to run a very diverse, attacking offense. Remember those spread formations the Vikings ran which gave DC a run-pass option? If the linebackers cleared out, he’d throw to the RB or take off up the middle. If they stayed in, he’d hit one of the wideouts. We’ll see what we’ve got come regular season. A smart signing either way.
As for JR, every day he holds out sets his development back that much further. It’s time these golden children come back to reality. They are being paid multi-millions and put on pedestals, to play this game. How much is enough? Perhaps those rookie orientation sessions should include a walking tour of poor neighborhoods. They could ask a homeless person or poor single mother how many more millions they should hold out for. Idiot owners and GMs who grossly overpay players are at fault here as well. Makes me wonder why I stretch my budget to the limit every fall to order NFL ticket. This greed is starting to screw this game up, just like the other big sports. Enough!!!

  33. Omniscience Says:

I agree with Ernesto, I been listing to these radio shows sports shows and there all the
same talking about how the raiders are messing up their embaressing ect.
Let`s see we all know Big Al is always the one making change or the Raiders
them selfs and this is just another exsample.let see actully if you rember the Niners
set the bar when they gave 25 million to Alexsis and all the owners were upset
and then last year 26 mil goes out overpaid Al overed 26 mil just like mario
which was overpaid even Alexisis is overpaid he is trying to get this back into perspective before you aree paying 50 mil for someone who never played in the N.F.L SO the people.
should be thanking Oaktown and AL instead of bashing.. As far as DC let see we gave up
a 4th rd pick and got josh and mike if you heard Josh is not looking that great so we
and has 1 year left on contract so we bring in dc 1 year probally start groomJR
drop Josh still get Mike Williams former # 1 and young it is like a 4th for a 1.
then you have DC,Walter,JR Who was probally going to hold clipboard anyways
DC if healthy has the exsperience and agoo Defense & running game can get us some
wins and groom jr at same time…. Holla

  34. Son of LenDale Says:

Why doesn’t anybody realize that JR holding out was part of the Raider plan the whole time? The coaches and Al Davis knew he wasn’t going to start the year as the #1. We are making Detroit make the first move because WE PLAY THEM THE FIRST WEEK!!!! Detroit not having CJ will hurt them a lot more than us not having JR in camp. I guarantee that the when Detroit signs CJ, JR will be in camp shortly thereafter.

  35. Charger Says:

Are you guys going to win more than 2 games this season? Your training camp is becoming a circus, again. What a joke.

  36. Jay Says:

Chargers started their circus act when they lost 90% of there coaching staff and hired a worthless retread like Norval. I pity you pathetic sons-of-bitches.

  37. braveheartraider Says:

Charger…WE might only win two- Oct 14th & Dec 30th. Have fun with Norv.

  38. Charger Says:

Try winning a game in your own division this season, then you Raiders fans can start talking smack about your pathetic franchise again. Ha ha!

  39. OHRaider Says:

Charger: Try winning at least one Superbowl and you can talk smack. Your window is slamming shut fast. How pathetic. Isn’t there a Charger board?

  40. RastaRaider Says:

Hey twerp, you are in absolutely no position to talk with Norv as your new coach. He has proven in his 9 seasons as a head coach that he is not competent to serve in that position, and I am completely confident he’ll run your team into the ground in no time.

Also, the Chargers are a team with zero Super Bowl titles and virtually no history or tradition. It must be difficult rooting for a team where the only thing you can really get excited about is seeing how much hatred you can generate for the Raiders. In fact I would say that Chargers fans have more passion for Raider hating than they do for their own team. I’m very thankful I don’t live in your hate-filled world.

  41. Charger Says:

Typical Raider fans: “We were good 20 years ago.” Ha ha! Seven straight and counting. Are the Raiders going to beat the Chargers again this century? Not with Al Davis in charge.

  42. OHRaider Says:

Typical Charger fan response. Better to be the best sometime than never at all. Have you got over choking at home last year? You guys are after thoughts. I’d rather be rising than plummeting.

  43. Charger Says:

What are you guys going to do when you finish last again and Norv Turner wins the Super Bolw with the Chargers? You’re going to be out of excuses for your team sucks so bad.

  44. Jay Says:

Are you that clueless Charger? Apparently you don’t follow football that closely because the Raiders were in the superbowl 4 years ago, not 20. Please, make comments that make zero sense when your team has NOT completely flamed out in the playoffs. In the end, the Raiders and Chargers finished in the same position last year, tied for second with the rest of the league. The only team that finished in 1st was the Colts…something the Chargers have never come close to achieving…unlike the Raiders.

  45. braveheartraider Says:

OHRaider …Thers is a Charger board, it’s called the Wailling Wall!

  46. Charger Says:

How long do you think Culpepper is going to last behind your pathetic offensive line?

  47. whitepirate Says:

Norv was the kid in high school who got his money taken by the school bully. It looks like there was a fire on his face and someone stomped it out with a track shoe. This guy defines loser, he should receive a lifetime contracts from the SD Sissies because he fits in so well. The most talented team in the game wont win 9 games with this retard at the helm. Lets start NorvNews.com so these Charging Chachi’s have somewhere to cry besides their momma’s house.

  48. Norv Turner Says:

Hey, quit calling me a loser. I can’t help it I have a crater face.

  49. Jacob King Jr Says:

The #1 pick EVERY year ALWAYS wants too much money it does not matter what position….That is why, if YOU are not prepared to get into the fiasco then you trade the slot …simple!!! On a related note any conversation about compensation that does not start at 28 mil is not a good deal!!

  50. Charger Says:

Each season Al Davis makes the Raiders even more of a laughingstock: What do you guys do? Bend over and say, “give me more Uncle Al.” Ha ha!

  51. dick V Says:

Dc coming to Oakland can only be good. Either way the Raiders will have the ability to resign one of these vetrans to compete with JR next year.
McCown seems to take too many chances and he needs to not turn over the ball. Either way you look at it, the offense will be basic this year. The Raiders need a signal caller that will make the right throw, get the ball out quick, and minimize the bad decisions. The only QB who has shown that ability lately is the JR.
DC and McCown will both have to be put on short leashes. Both of these guys are coming here to hit home runs, and the Raiders need someone to play small ball. I guess the two might balance each other out. It will be interesting to say the least.

  52. Dan Says:

LOL these Charger fans think their team is good they haven’t won a playoff game since 1995.

  53. dick V Says:

Adimchinobe Echemandu sounds like the suprise of camp. The Raiders do not have any other backs that can be effective in that one cut zone blocking system.

Great updates on BJ Ward and Chris McFoy. it seems like Ward makes plays every day. There is a lot of new blood in Oaklnd this year.

  54. dick V Says:

  55. Raiders Ran Says:

I think the Raiders are doing right by signing DC. JR needs to get off his high horse and sign. His agent is missing him up. Like someone said, he does not want to go back in the draft because will probably not be the #1 pick next year. You are at home with no money and your agent is dumb.

  56. DesertRaider24 Says:

So now we have Culpepper…I for one think it’s a good move, even if Russell wasn’t a holdout. I like his experience, he’s had success, and he has that one intangible that Walter doesn’t have–leadership. I’m not the only one who thinks this is a good signing…from ESPN’s Matt Williamson…

Culpepper a good fit posted: Wednesday, August 1, 2007 | Feedback | Print Entry
    filed under: Oakland Raiders

In old-school Raiders fashion, Oakland signed Daunte Culpepper, who once was a very productive player but needs another chance to prove he can return to standout form. Culpepper is 30, rehabbing from a serious knee injury and with his third team in three years. In other words, he sounds like a perfect Raider.
Oakland signed Culpepper to a one-year deal, which makes a lot of sense for both parties. The Raiders drafted JaMarcus Russell with the first pick of the 2007 draft, and he will be the face of Oakland’s franchise and quarterback of the future. But he remains unsigned and by all accounts, he is not close to a deal.

If he misses time in training camp, Russell could dig himself a hole in learning the offense. As quarterback prospects go, Russell has tremendous natural tools but isn’t particularly polished. Even if he were to report to camp on time, holding a clipboard for the better part of his rookie season and watching the game from the sideline could be the best long-term plan for his career and the organization. The addition of Culpepper makes this more feasible.

    *****
It’s safe to say that Culpepper is going to make the league minimum, or close to it, with a bunch of performance incentives, so this is a win-win for both parties. We get a QB with big game experience for very little cost; Culpepper gets a chance to resurrect his career and prove the skeptics wrong. This is a good fit…

  57. DesertRaider24 Says:

BTW…thanks as always for the updated camp notes, Jerry. Keep ‘em coming.

  59. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

Hey charger, at our #1 pick is holding out, sure….yours REFUSED TO PLAY FOR YOUR TEAM BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WOULD NEVER WIN AN SB!!! Also, the only reason your team is as good as they are is…LT…I think you would agree, no? How did you get LT..because you were the WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE a year before you drafted him THEN TOO, and traded the pick to Atlanta which ended up being Ookie. You got Brees and LT…So…is your team better right now..yeah it probably is. But LT is being run into the ground Rivers was exposed last year, you sent the guy packing who became the best QB in the game last year, kept the loser, fired a 14-2 coach, a great OC and a HALL OF FAME DC. You will soon run LT into the ground too, then you’ll be on the clock around the first part of January again…hopefully this time the guy is nice enough to play for you…enjoy it while you can

ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, AAALLLRRRIGHT!!! NATION Listen up, it’s tough enought to have Silver & Black pump through your veinS AND live in Iggles land, but now I hear REAL fear and panic from some of the Nations most die-hard bloggers!?! Now I’ve been reading this blog for a long time and most of you guys get my respect but d@mnit don’t go to pieces on me. No, I wasn’t happy with the DC signing but if he’s half as bad as Plummer was for the donks last year AND we have a decent running game AND our defense stays the same (or gets better) then maybe we could knife-fight our way into a playoff spot. And I’ll be F-N happy with that. Yeah, JR will sign and Mr. D is doing right by holding the line on these ridiculous guaranteed money deals. But until then REAL CAMP COMPETITION w/ the best guys available to us IS A GOOD THING!! HEY JERRY, YOU KEEP DOIN’ WHAT YOU BEEN DOIN’ FOR US!!

    PEACE - PhillyRaider

  62. raider rich Says:

    Nice call PhillyRaider.

  63. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

1yes, Leaf was right up there as well. I bet you wish he WOULD have refused to play in S.D.
Two members of the bolts “D” is currently incarcerated, another has ended his career for trying to pick a fight with a cop with a gun. S.D. hasn’t won a playoff game since the playoffs following the
1994 season. 199 f*in’ 4!!!!! Regular season wins mean something you say? Why did your entire coaching staff get fired for going 14-2? I remember rolling on the floor LMFAO when
all of the Patirots were doing ‘Roid Merrian’s dance on the bolt after the COMPLETE COLLAPSE
of the bolts in that game.. Poor LT, I honestly feel bad for the guy. Nice guy one of the better players at ANY position of our generation and he’ll never get a ring, and his career has already been shortened due to a few years of MartyBall.(aka “no playoff wins since “the drive” in 1984 or so-ball).

  64. Chad E Says:

NorthernRaider good points on Russell negoitations’. We are in the drivers seat there. Of course as fans it would be nice to get him in ASAP, but not if that means bending over backwards and hurting our team for the future.

Any pro athlete out there which doesn’t sign a team friendly contract pertaining to off field incidents is a dinosaur. This thuggery and criminality will not be tolerated especially by the greatest show on earth (NFL).

This is an indictment of McKown and Walter more than anything else, they have not impressed Mr Kiffin enough for him to tell Mr Davis we’re good at QB for the starter. Look for Culpepper to insert himself real fast as the incumbent.

As for you lost Chargeless fans, here are some stats which can be easily verified on the internet. #1 head to head vs Raiders 38-54-2, do some simple math and your 7 game bender needs to keep going thru 2015 just to break even….Your pathetic no Super Bowl winning franchise’s overall record is 349-354-13 NICE!

The Raiders all time record is 421-319-11. 3 Super Bowl titles, more than any other team in our division, and only the Pittsburgh Steelers have more from the AFC.

Since your sorry @ss franchise has dug such a big hole for itself, hope you have a few years longevity to see them crawl out of it.

Do you see a 3 super bowl like run coming from your current coach? More like on more dazzling season and then THUD! right back to below mediocre Chargeless football just like the history represents.

Can’t wait to see the MIGHTY CHARGELESS lineup on 10/14 so we can break this miniscule unimportant streak they are on. Hope you enjoy the invasion of Raider fans which inevitably take over your stadium year in, year out. OUT

  65. Big Daddy WooWoo Says:

Let’s face it, since their shipment of codeine was intercepted, the chargers have been a team jonsin’ for something….and they ain’t gettin’ it out on the field.

and I cannot see Norv Turner and Wade Phillips installing any of the toughness that a Marty Shottenheimer put into a team.

Those guys are going to get soft, fast and fade….hard.

It’s all over now, powder blue…

  66. HOWIE 75 Says:

Hey guys… well just yesterday I was talking about the master plan to intimidate JR into
signing, by flying in DC, a few of you even gave me props for my comment… THAT SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH I KNOW…. THAT WENT SOUTH A FEW MINUTES LATER!, ok so lets deal with it… give me another crack at it…… now we got DC, AW, JM and an unsigned JR….. well JR… will get paid, its just a question of when, and the answer is when Calvin Johnson signs… as another Raider Bloger accuratley pointed out… he will probably learn for the most part of this year and if any… play the second half of the season…..regarding JR that´s that!… Now to our other QB’s…. 4 QB’s are to many… so I´m guessing the starting job is between DC and JM…. both are average, but DC can be more if is healthy and proves it.. besides he is built the same way as JR… so the transition between this year (if he starts) and the end of the season or next year when JR takes over will probably go smoother that having JM o AW back there. that said…..I don´t know how many more year AW has in his contract, but I am pretty sure it´s more that 1, and DC and Jm are signed only for 1 year, so my guess is both of them might be leaving next year… so I agree with a fellow bloger, AW will stay, and depending on how it goes (if DC proves he can do it), I imagine JM will leave after JR signs.

That said, however it goes….. This can only better the competition and that in it self will benefit the Raiders…. LETS GO BOY…. give us something to be proud of once again!!

  67. raider rich Says:

GREAT stuff CHAD E. dolt fans just dont know the great feeling of winning a SB! GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  68. HOWIE 75 Says:

Raider rich…. Norvelle referred to Eli Manning, who refused to play with SD and got traded to NY for their No. 4 and now QB for the Chargerets… Phillip Rivers.
Yeah… also feel bad for LT…. he’s great player on a candy covered team… maybe in a few years we can trade for him and get him his ring… now wouldn´t that be great!

  69. raider rich Says:

I know HOWIE 75. Just thought I would jab somemore at dolt fans.

  70. PhillyRaider Says:

Yo, THANKS Raider Rich! Good call BraveHeartRaider! Hey Charger, if you’re walking down the street one day and you see a poor, dirty, smelly ol’ bum just trying to get a cup of coffey, tell him he shouldn’t of taken the F-N job after Marty-puss got the Heave-Ho in the first place.

  71. raiderfanindonkeycountry Says:

If the dolts have any idea of history they would never trade LT to an afc west team. Our Raiders traded Marcus to the thiefs and do you remember what happened? Marcus Allen scored the first 99 touchs of his career with the Raidahs and his 100th against, guess who… the Raidahs.

  72. Norv Turner Says:

I stink. My brother Ron stinks. We suck as coaches.

  73. raiderfanindonkeycountry Says:

Somebody refresh my memory, didn’t the vikes run a west coast offense when DC was there?

  74. SouthTexasRaider Says:

alot of great comments in here, ESPECIALLY the ones about the dolts. notice the dolt hasnt dared to comment with all this dolt reality humor being said….and if he does it will be a refurbished comment he made an hour ago or yesterday for that matter. when i read comments from haters in our part of town it only spells one thing F_E_A_R….and that is in the hearts of the nfl and more in the ones of our division. i dont feel bad for LT, F#ck him. u feel bad for someone thats ruined ur gameday twice a season…….i think not! to hell with him and every other powder blue sissy color wearing mofo! we have had 4 losing season this decade at worst 2-14………but the dolts have had 3 this decade AND one with a 1-15 record in 2000. as a franchise you all have more losing season than winning. you could have been 16-0 last year…..didnt matter, one then done seems to be yalls forte. RAIDER NATION BABY! IN 2007 RAIDER NATION WILL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!

  75. Charger Says:

There’s a reason they call you the Jokeland Raiders. Your coach is a college coach. Your new front office is straight out of high school….and Al Davis. No wonder your first round pick is at home in Atlanta while the Chargers have his former teammate in training camp making a name for himself.

  76. raider rich Says:

Damm dolt fan, you really got us, ouch it hurts. F#CKING SISSY! REAL MEN WEAR BLACK NOT POWDER BLUE! GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  77. Charger Says:

Shawne Merriman is salivating at the chance to go up against your reshuffled offensive line. No matter how hard you try, you can’t hide Robert Gallery.

  78. PhillyRaider Says:

That charger sure is persistent, what a limp-dolt If only the team was that tenacious they’d have a Lombardy or two. HA HA HA HA HA!!!

  79. Charger Says:

I guess it’s too much to expect for a Raiders fan to spell Lombardi correctly.

  80. DILDOBATTERRYCHARGER Says:

Calling Norv and Leaf……I need my recharge. Please plug me in.

  81. Tennessee Raider Says:

Nah charger he is salivating because he hasn’t had his roids in awhile, I hear it does that to you.

  82. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

and Gallery is looking forward to putting a non-roided Merriman on his a$$. The dude’s a cheater.

  83. Charger Says:

Al blew it by passing on Matt Leinart last season. You could have drafted Calvin Johnson this season. You guys might actually have some talent to build around. Instead you got bupkis. I know Raiders fans who feel the same way.

  84. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

You know what would be cool…to have our buddy charger come to a game in Oakland. That’s always fun. They’re scared to come to our stadium, and when the we play in S.D., it’s just oakland south, their fans are afraid of us there TOO (trust me, I’ve been to games in S.D>) People are TERRIFIED of us Raider fans down there too…

  85. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

I bet I’ve made this very guy piss himself in his own stadium, so he reassures himself that he’s a man by talking Sh*t over the computer

  86. PhillyRaider Says:

OK, My mistake on the spelling but I d@mn sure know what it’s like to love a team that has three. That’s 3!! Chalk it up to bein’ in such a hurry to dis you!!

    PEACE

  87. Charger Says:

Try winning a few games. Maybe you’ll get some respect from fans in San Diego. Oh yeah, how long have we owned you in your home stadium? You’ll get respect when your team earns it on the field.

  88. BoJacks456 Says:

Man, just let the Chargers have it. They’ll be returning to their customary spot at the bottom of the AFC West soon enough

  89. Norv Turner Says:

I will see that the Chargers go down this year by using my usual coaching
ineptitude week in, week out. By the way, anyone have any Oxy?

  90. Charger Says:

How many years has it been since the Raiders actually managed to beat a team in the division? You lost to the Houston Texans at home. lol! Yeah, the mighty Texans. How do put up with that?

  91. PhillyRaider Says:

This guy absolutely scoozes by harassing The NATION Elite on their own board. Again, what a lifeless, blueboy, limp-dolt! It’s very sad!

  92. DILDOBATTERRYCHARGER Says:

We dont cry when people beat us in our turk like LT did. Why do you guys SUCK so much? You have the most talented roster in the NFL and STILL cant win a Super Bowl. Charger fans can eat DICKK like always.

  93. Charger Says:

Tell me, how did it feel to get shut out twice on Monday Night Football? Did you bend over and ask Uncle Al for more?

  94. DILDOBATTERRYCHARGER Says:

Same way it felt when Chargers announced Norv Turner as their head coach.

  95. DILDOBATTERRYCHARGER Says:

Its funny how charger fans are in raider forums. Charger forums must be so exiting, or wait, I think charger forums even exist. Who gives a damn. Go powder blue!!!

  96. Charger Says:

    I Love the RAIDERS

  97. Dean Spanos Says:

I am going to fire Norv Turner.

  98. Charger Says:

How does it feel to have your quarterback sacked 9 times on your own turf by a division rival in prime time?

  99. Charger Says:

Sorry but i have nothing better 2 do but sit at my computer, i have no friends so i make shiit up to talk 2 people thanks 4 your ears

  100. Charger Says:

Just ignore me and continue with ur RAIDERS do not answer me it is my bed time

  101. KoolKell Says:

F Charger fan. I don’t know why you guys bother with it. Why does it spend it’s time on a Raider blog? We have bidness to take care of.

  102. Charger Says:

Thank you KoolKell that is what i am talking about

  103. WEST RAIDER Says:

Did anyone watch the press confrence with AL DAVIS it was on NFL NETWORK 20 min ago

  104. Charger Says:

Is Al going to fire Lame in January, or is he going to get impatient and fire him in October? I hear Nick Saban wants to give the NFL a try again.

  105. WEST RAIDER Says:

Goota run time to get some more MADDEN in will talk l8 “IM IN”

  106. Justin Says:

Charger: Our first round pick is from Mobile, Alabama. I know Atlanta and Alabama both start and end with As so it can be confusing, but if you’re going to talk smack about somebody’s spelling then you better make sure you have your facts straight because it makes you look twice as stupid when you’re wrong.

  107. Charger Says:

By the way, Meriman used steroids last year and won’t be a factor this year. I’m gay and everyone can have their way with me. I’m very gay and flaming. Please, I need a man real bad.

  108. Charger Says:

The Raiders will have the first overall pick again in 2008. Maybe Al should start working on the conract now. lol

  109. LooneyRaider Says:

Okay Charger, you finally said something I agree with. But it’s Merriman, not Meriman. Of course you probably like Merry men.

  110. KoolKell Says:

Jerry the news conference is over, whatup?

  111. SouthTexasRaider Says:

merri-man took steriods cuz he liked getting poked in the butt!

  112. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

That isn’t likely Charger, you see this is our first time having a 1st overall. Maybe we could have some people from the front office help with this, they are pretty experienced with it. Oh, wait Butler is dead. The guy that replaced him decided to throw the team in the toilet

  113. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

Anyone else here think a drunk fifth grader gave Merry-man his tatto. How sh*tty is that? A lightswitch? Really? And it isn’t even well done!

  114. Charger Says:

Do you all know what brand of diapers Dominick Rhodes uses?

  115. Dragonrider Says:

Hey Charger …………… tell me how many games your Dolts won, 1 even with their worse season ever the Raiders won twice as many games.

  116. Dragonrider Says:

referring to your 2000 season Charger, if you don’t know your history.

  117. Charger Says:

Are the Raiders going to score even 15 touchdowns this season? LT by himself scored twice as many TDs as the entire Raiders offense last season. How does Al even show his face in public after that?

  118. Charger Says:

If you guys just ignore me…maybe i’ll just go away. but you guys are feeding me by replying to my dumbass comments. I love those men….oooo…eeee…..aaa….. im sooooo gay!

  119. djstoggie Says:

Hey, can you guys just ignore the charger fan. Hopefully, he’ll disapper like his team does in the playoffs.

  120. Charger Says:

IGNORE ME!!!! IGNORE ME!!! PLEASE IGNORE ME!!!

  121. Dragonrider Says:

The same way Spanos does, knowing his team hasn’t won a championship since 1966. The Raiders have been in a Superbowl this decade, whats the Dolts excuse.

  122. Huff24 Says:

    You F’ed up this blog….damn shithead charger…

    Thanks Jerry….keep the updates comin….

  123. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

Yeah, if anyone says anything about it…he just shows his rings, and wins the argument. The chargers have been a good team the past couple of years, no one is denying that. However what we’re saying is that you’re good BECAUSE of your 1-15 season which gave you LT. SThe game is cyclical, all teams go up and down. Only our UP is SB wins. Your UP is a first round playoff loss, always has been always will be.
Merry-man will not be nearly as impressive this season, as he will “hopefully” not be on steroids. I hate charger fans who think one has nothing to do with the other. He did what he did BECAUSE of steroids. Castillo is the same thing, he is a cheater. Also Wade is gone.
LT is great, but Rivers is not a good QB at this point. You have no WR’s. Lorenzo is getting old to buddy, and when he goes LT’s #’s will plummett. So, again I’ll say it for you, as you appear to be pretty new to football. The chargers are the better team at this point. They may well be the most talented team in the league, but they won’t ever get a SB win, and two years from now, you’re on the clock starting week one. We were the worst last year, but at least we’ve been the best before, more than can be said for the Chargers.
I guarantee you that the chargers will have the #1 overall again before the Raiders do, and that the Raiders will win ANOTHER ring before the chargers get their first…Afterall that’s what history says will happen.

  124. Dragonrider Says:

Heard Spanos wants to move the team up to Stockton, where he is from, better class of people to draw a fan base from, the only problem, Spanos knows they are all Raider fans.

  125. Charger Says:

Do you think you can find a way to cover Antonio Gates this season? Or is he going to punkc your pass defense like he has the past three years?

  126. Art Shell's Hat Says:

Hey, Charger ever make it up to San Francisco? Look me up if you do. I’d love to be together soon.

  127. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

That is pretty uneducated, we’ve done fairly well against your pass game last year. LT killed us. Dragon, are you serious about the Dolts moving to stockton? Can you imagine Raider week if they go there? IT will be a sea of black and NO Charger fans will have the balls to show up!!

  128. Charger Says:

What’s Lame Kiffin going to do when the fans start booing the Raiders at home again when the Lions come to town? Sit down and cry?

  129. Art Shell's Hat Says:

I don’t know about Gates Charger, but you wont be able to cover this tight end!

  130. braveheartraider Says:

I’m lost. What were we talkin about?

  131. braveheartraider Says:

Oh. yeah. I think DC signed with us cause he thinks he’s
    gonna start.

  132. Charger Says:

lol. Culpepper threw a pick six in his first game as a Dolphin. Good luck with that.

  133. braveheartraider Says:

You’re like Howie..relentless. But yeah compared to J Mc
or Walter he’s got a shot ..but who asked you?

  134. Charger Says:

Shouldn’t JaMarcus Russell be in Napa, ready to sign his contract and start practicing? Instead he’s sitting on his mom’s couch, eating her cooking and getting fatter by the minute. Is JR a momma’s boy or what?

  135. SouthTexasRaider Says:

    nicely put norvelle, nicely put.

  136. SouthTexasRaider Says:

DAM! there must be nothing interesting goin on in san diego. u notice how this punk know a lot about the raiders and our history!!??!!

  137. SouthTexasRaider Says:

    one and done! LMAO!!!
1-15…and trying to talk shit to us…..LMAO!!!
    powder blue…….LMAO!!!

man that is some funny shit, im glad my day is over and can leave work in a good mood…..

  138. SouthTexasRaider Says:

better mood i mean…………….IN LANE WE MUST TRUST SO IN 2007 RAIDER NATION WILL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!!!

  139. Charger Says:

It’s quiet and all business at Chargers’ training camp. All our rookies are signed and in camp. JaMarcus’ LSU teammate is making a case to win a starting job on opening day. Our owner isn’t botching contract negotiations or wasting time going after damaged goods.

  140. dick V Says:

It is official. Randy Moss pulled his hamstring in practice: that is what happens when you go hard after dogging it for so long ie Mike Williams. I new it was only a matter of time. Mandy will be slowed down by the hami for the rest of the year.

Mandy’s hami getting pulled was as inevidable as Dean Spanos firing Norv, Aj and teddy cotrell after the Season.

Ron Rivera will be the coach for the Chargers in 08. Can we place bets on that sort of stuff in Vegas?

The sad thing about the Chargers is that if they had kept Marty’s QB Brees for the 06 campaign, they probably would have won a superbowl.

Phillip Rivers couldn’t even hit LT in the flat without Rosevelt Colvin picking him off. Bree’s carried an entire city on his back last year. The Chargers carried Rivers to the 1st round of the playoffs: where he failed them.

  141. braveheartraider Says:

Hey charger..when you were a boy did you like boys but pretend to like girls?
And now you pretend to like Chargers but you really want it bad and Black?

  142. Raider From Birth Says:

Charger… regarding you previous post… we don’t need respect from Charger fans, nor do we really care what they think. It’s the off-season and we’re bored, so we humor you for a little while. You root for a second-rate organization that’s won a few games lately; no big deal, they’ll be back to normal soon enough. (And then their fans won’t come in here because they’ll have nothing to talk about. Again.)

Have you guys picked a coaching staff for ‘08 yet?

  143. Charger Says:

lmao at Pats fans who thought Moss was going to jack for NE.

It’s spelled Norval. I know, you can’t expect a Raiders fan to spell correctly. Lombardy. lol

  144. braveheartraider Says:

Anyone know Culpepper’s ‘criteria’ for joining the Raiders?

  145. Charger Says:

Yeah. Anyone stupid and desperate enough to pay him. lol

  146. KoolKell Says:

Did you guys just hear John Clayton, he suggests the holdout will last 2-3 exhibition games and will probably mean that he will not have impact this season. My god!

  147. Raider From Birth Says:

Pats fans are laughing their a**es off at your team for throwing up on your own field last year. That must really suck. 14-2 and can’t even win at home in the playoffs. By the way, how’s that midfield logo repair going?

  148. dick V Says:

Dante wanted a one year deal. He was offered a three year 15 milion dollar deal in Jacksonville, but he turned it down because he wanted to show what he had. I think that was the stupidest thing he could have done. I would much rather go to Jacksonville and play behind that line: knowing Leftwich is a ufa next year.
But he decided to double down and go for it all rather than play it safe. It will probably fail because his knee is still not healed and there will be a quick hook for both him and McCown. Neither will get the FA deal they are looking for. Dante probably will be back next year to compete with Jamarcus for the starting spot.

Why on earth doesn’t DC have an agent that can advise him? The NFL is eating him alive right now. Al Davis will take whats left of him.

  149. Charger Says:

Man, do I feel sorry for Daunte Culpepper then. Shawne Merriman, Luis Castillo or Shaun Phillips are likely to end his career with one solid shot. Your O-line will kill him.

  150. braveheartraider Says:

How can they estimate its gonna take that long? Do they plan it?
I think JR’s agents just cranked up the heat on Al.

  151. KoolKell Says:

Clayton says the talks are completely broken down.

  152. AL-MIGHT Says:

    Charger Says:

    August 1st, 2007 at 2:10 pm
Do you think you can find a way to cover Antonio Gates this season? Or is he going to punkc your pass defense like he has the past three years?

    Three numbers Sh*t Charger 4-2-5.

Lets see how you do against the “Infernal Machine” this year.

We ‘ve got the heavy hitters and coverage guys to carry it off this year.

Speaking of SD QB’s I hear Drew Breese is doing really well…for New Orleans.

    E.S.A.L.!!!

Gotta say, The Ass Chargers wouldn’t even have a League if it wasn’t for Uncle Al.

He may have f’ed things up now and again, but he brought home the trophies AND HE DID IT HIS WAY.

Al’s a maverick and a true American battling on against the outrageous BS flung our way and constant haters.

    We love you Al.

Thanks for letting us smash those trophies in the face of idiots who think they can disrespect.

    The Hardware says it all.

By the way, mark my words “OAKLAND RAIDERS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS BY 2010.”

    No sh*t.

  153. frank wiley Says:

Jerry, you’re a good man. I want to know who is kicking ass in the full contact o-line drills and who is getting his ass kicked. More details like match-ups won and lost and against whom. Who’s the most physical. Who’s playing like a punk-if there is anybody being soft. This is the most important unit to cover in my opinion right now. If they don’t get better it’s not a question of the quarterback, the running backs or anything else. Nothing else will matter. What about Carlisle/ Is he demonstraring why he should start over Boothe or not. How are the left tackles faring-including Barry Sims. How is the line performing in live 11-on-11. I’ve heard so much about the magical zone blocking scheme. How is the running game looking? Is the pass protection any better?Let me put it another way, Blitzchick has provided more specific and detailed information than I ‘ve found anywhere. Let’s get with it.

  154. norvelle "three and out" turner Says:

Raider guy-”Our franchise has a winning record all time, the bolts have a losing record all time. The Raiders have a winning record all time vs. the Chargers. The Raiders have 3 rings, more division titles than anyone else and more playoff wins”

    Charger-You can’t spell well.

  155. Charger Says:

    lmao-
    Raiders opening day offense:

    Daunte Culpepper
    Lamont Jordan
    Zack Crockett
    Jerry Porter
    Mike Williams
    Tony Stewart
    Cornell Green
    Paul McQuistan
    Jeremy Newberry
    Robert Gallery
    Barry Sims

That’s going to scare a lot of defensive coordinators. lol

  156. twerpfan1 Says:

THE HAPLESS RAIDERS ACCORDING TO THE TWERP

The sack happy Raider offensive line… oops, aren’t defensive lines supposed to be “sack happy”?

Well, 72 sacks denote that the pathetic Raider offensive line is “sack happy.”

That painful excuse of an offensive line is supposed to provide protection for has-been QB Daunte Culpepper?

    TWERPING THE TRUTH

    CHARGERS 27 Jokeland 0

*CHARGERS “D” was “sack happy” recording 9 SACKS vs. Roberta Galleria & co.

    CHARGERS 21 Jokeland 14

*CHARGERS “D” limits that stellar Raider running game to 2 yards rushing in the 2nd half & sacked Raider QBs 6 times.

    TWERP’S FINAL THOUGHTS

Raiderholics, you want the truth?… YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

The undeniable truth is that there is not a single starter on the Raiders offense that could start on ANY of the other 31 teams in the NFL.

Your silver & crap is the NFL version of garbage & a bad joke.

THE CHARGERS will continue their dominance over the hapless and hopeless untalented imitation of an NFL team, called the Raiders.

    GO CHARGERS!

  157. PERSPECTIVE Says:

    No need to panic.

Calvin Johnson, LARRY JOHNSON, Levi Brown, Brady Quinn, none of em’ signed.

I would think Quinn would be major since he IS expected to start.

Hell, the Jets can’t even FIND Darrelle Revis.

Theres a good article all Raider fans and especially worriers should read at myspace.com/raidernationstation

  158. Paul Says:

It is so funny to see all of these Haters coming on to our site scared to death that the OAKLAND RAIDERS are in reality not that far away. And for you Charger F*g, Norv will coach your can’t win a playoff game Loser (14-2) team back to reality maybe 9-7 this year B*tch. Although you haters must feel big and bad sitting at your computer talking crap, but the bottom line is that we must play the game a$$holes. So till then remember this your just a bunch of Losers who take it in the a$$ from the one and only Dr. Phil, I for one think thats a high price to pay just to be a hater, it’s what u F*gs live for I guess. Just Win Baby!!

I think I know why the Charger fans are so full of themselves and can’t stop talking smack. They’ve been bad for so long that when they win a few games they’re not used to it and can’t quite handle the excitement.

Don’t worry boys, you’ll be back to normal before you know it. And so will we. Which means you won’t have a reason to come in here anymore. Don’t worry, though; Raider fans have much better things to do than go onto other teams’ blogs and crow about our success. You see, we’ve actually had some and can handle it…

The Al Davis press conference is on video at CBS. He’s still got it, oh yeah.
The Russell contract is about retrievable monies and accountability.

Anybody remember the time when SD drafted Leaf instead of Peyton Manning. Man that was great. Or when their front office hired Norv Turner and the team didn’t even come close to the playoffs the next year. Oh, that was us, oh well history just like coaches repeat themselves.

  163. WILMAC Says:

Concerning the JR signing. Do we really want JR playing this year anyway? I could care less if he waits till to sign. I would rather have him hold a clipboard and learn this year anyways. Name another rookie besides Rothleisberger who was worth a damn starting his rookie year. We have the talent on defense to win this year. And with a different blocking scheme this year that could very well happen.

Hey Charger fans, my daughter called, she says she wants her jersey color back!

  164. D. Brown Says:

Has anyone else noticed how the Chargers’ fans, players, coaches and even their local me
dia are suddenly acting like their one of the marquee franchises in the NFL? Sure, they won 14
games last year and then promptly went one and done, at home, in the post season. Then, as
if that wasn’t bad enough, their best player and “face of the franchise” (LT) whines like a little girl because the Pats wiped the loss in their faces. Chargers are still bush league and will continue to be
until they actually win a game or two in the playoffs. The reality is that the Chargers have
never, in their history, done anything to warrant the type of respect they feel they deserve
and if history is any indication, they never will. They must have a lot of good dope in SD
becasue a lot of Chargers fans are definately high on something.

I think that signing D C was a great idea ! the raiders not only got a qb that has been to the pro bowl three times and knows how to play the game, DC has somthing to prove to the nfl about his physical ability. yes he will have to learn the west coast way . this move also puts russel in cheak. although russel may have all the talent and physical atributes to play the game, he has never played in the NFL. D C will be the perfect mentor for russel.this also lets this agent know that the raiders arnt starving for a qb, and thus will make a contract adjustment and russel will sign very quickly. its a win win for the raiders. Im very impressed with kiffen thus far and think that he has the smarts and ability to turn this ballclub into the most feared and winningest team we used to be. like all raider fans and its nation say….just win baby!

  166. toto Says:

hey charger, you have one year of sucsess and think your team is the bomb…..well your right your team will self destruct starting this year. next year and all years to fallow you will lose the play off game to the raiders and we will win the supper bowl by 2010. thats what the winningest team in football does.

    Otto,
I’m sorry to hear about your leg. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are
with you. Some of us old timers remember all of your excellent plays on the field.
Please keep that gruff atititude up and not dwell on the loss of your leg. Keep fighting

I apologize to all the raider fans out there. You (The Raiders) are going to be the best in the AFC west this year. My San Diego Dolt Super Chokers will choke again this year because we have Norv Turner. Spanos are idiots. LT will have his legs broken sometime in the first 6 weeks in the season. Shawn Ferriman..(cheater) I mean merri-man will get caught with steriods again. Phillip Rivers will admit he is gay. I don’t know what the chokers were thinking not signing anyone this year, they decided to keep all the chokers this year. To all the loyal raider nation, I apologize. My dumb ass doesn’t know how to shut my mouth and know my role.
