Porter’s guarantee draws a yawn
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, September 27th, 2007 at 4:23 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Miami linebacker Joey Porter’s guarantee that the Dolphins would beat the Raiders Sunday was greeted with shrugs of shoulders, half-smiles and indifference.
“It amuses me, I guess,” safety Michael Huff said. “I guess he’s just trying to fire up his own team. We’ll just play our game, whether he said it or not. We play Raider football, we’ll be fine.”
Porter, who signed a lucrative free agent contract with the Dolphins in the offseason after parting ways with Pittsburgh, as the reputation for being a big talker.
“I don’t worry about that. We know what he’s about, so it really doesn’t matter,” running back LaMont Jordan said. “You can talk as much as you want to, the bottom line is you have to go out there and play. With that said, I know those guys are going to come out fired up, but like coach Kiff says, it’s never about the other team. It’s always about us.”
More news and notes:
– Lane Kiffin wants to see Josh McCown limp around for another two days before he can be absolutely sure about his quarterback situation.
Or maybe he is waiting to see if the Raiders hire Mr. Miyagi of “Karate Kid” fame to slap his hands together and apply his magical healing powers to McCown’s fractured left toe.
“Josh didn’t go today so we’ll take another look at him in the morning and see if he can practice tomorrow,” Kiffin said.
McCown struggled against Denver with limited practice time. Would he be comfortable starting McCown if he missed practice again Friday?
“I’ll have to look at what happens,” Kiffin said. “I’ll have to see how he was the next day.”
Never mind . . .
– LG Robert Gallery made it through the entire practice, meaning it’s likely he will be able to start against Miami. Same goes for center Jeremy Newberry and linebacker Robert Thomas.
Kiffin wouldn’t say whether Newberry or Jake Grove would start at center.
“I don’t know yet,” Kiffin said. “I have to see how he responds to having a full day of work.”
Grove’s performance against Cleveland nose tackle Ted Washington, listed at 375 pounds but looking like 475, impressed line coach Tom Cable.
“Jake has done an awesome job filling in for Jeremy,” Cable said. “Last week was a perfect example. You’re playing a guy who’s the biggest guy in the league and he handled everything we asked of him and we were able to have a little success.”
– DE Derrick Burgess did not practice. Kiffin said the bye week will be taken into account regarding the health of all injured players.
“We always talk about all the different variables that go into the decisions that we make as far as knowing that a whole week is coming up,” Kiffin said. “There are two different ways to look at it. One is, you can get him to that week and rest him, or another one is, do you push your guy knowing (that week) is coming.”
– For the past two days, the Raiders offensive players wore black jerseys and the defense wore white. Even long-time Raiders employees can’t remember it ever happening before.
“You put them in jersey colors so they get used to what they’re throwing to for the quarterback,” Kiffin said. “We’re wearing black in Miami, so he gets used to throwing to black and gets used to white on the other side.”
Which doesn’t explain why the offense wasn’t in black last week, considering the Raiders wear black at home.

RaiderRevival….

____
I think it’s a good move Offense practiced in black… Just that its the first time says everything… Kiffin is the real deal, nothing stays untouched, anything that can improve us will be tried… I like, Like it a lot…
September 27th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
Somebody should make a site, with a map of all the raider bars in the US…
It would be a nice tourist guide for us Europeans =)
LOL
September 27th, 2007 at 4:47 pm
La Milicia Negra, if you go to New Haven, CT, check out TK’s American Grill.
And Jerry, you’re bringing the zingers today. I watched the video with you and Carl Stewart last week. Has anyone ever told you you look like Larry Flynt?
September 27th, 2007 at 4:50 pm
La Milicia Negra,
The #2 sports bar in America (according to Sports Illustrated, anyway) is the very pro-Raiders “Ricky’s Sports Theater” in San Leandro, CA.
September 27th, 2007 at 4:51 pm
Jerry - Please keep the heat on Kiffin for his weak QB stance…
Are the Cowboys at a disadvantage because St Louis knows Romo is starting?
It’s my only criticism of our new coach…
September 27th, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Jerry McDonald IS Larry Flynt… LOL
John S… “I watched the video with you and Carl Stewart last week” which video?
and
New Haven, CT, check out TK’s American Grill is now noted =)
September 27th, 2007 at 4:56 pm
Here you go, buddy. It’s the Tribune’s Raiders Page. Tell me Jerry doesn’t look like Larry Flynt. All he needs is a gold wheelchair and some silicone…

I’ll be cooking up some pancakes and sausage in the morning as I draw up a game

______
Johnnyswing…
where is your barney’s beanery located? or goes that for all of their facilities? that they show raider games?
September 27th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
Kiffin plays everything close to the vest. We’ll just have to get used to it in Raiderland. If anyone is injured he probably won’t devulge if they will play next week just to try to throw the other team off a bit. Take every crumbs worth of an advantage you can. I understand but it feels like we “fans” should be let in the lope. We won’t tell anybody Kiffin. Promise.

Man, they’re talking about trading Jason Taylor. He’s got 3 offsides penalities and 2 tackles ) sacks. On the other hand it’s gonna be hot and sticky down there.
September 27th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Alas! Mr. Miyagi passed on a while ago so Im guessing Daunte will get the win this week.
September 27th, 2007 at 5:27 pm
Kiffen is just continuing(sp) the raider tradition of working under the Cloak of Secrecy. Mr. Davis has got to be eating this stuff up.
September 27th, 2007 at 5:27 pm
I think Trent Green can be intimidated by a good pass rush early.
September 27th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
La Milicia Negra,
Barney’s is in Santa Monica at the 3rd Street Promenade…Lot’s of cute waitresses and plenty of TV’s (if you can stand all the Steelers fans upstairs that do their stupid, “Here we go STeelers” chant…”
September 27th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
Nice reference to Mr. Miyagi, Jerry. I’ve hung in there okay until now, but this is getting a little stupid. Come on Kiffin, get behind Culpepper and give him at least half of the support you have given to McCown, who don’t forget, does not have a quarter of the credentials Culpepper has. Other than that, Kiff, you and your staff are doing an excellent job.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:06 pm
For those of you who were there when it all started ( that great era, that is) : “Wheatly won’t go down! Wheatly won’t go down!!” Greg Papa sounded the same (if you watch the Raider highlights) then (against the Chiefs) as he sounded when we blocked the Kick on the Browns. Wheatly’s run led us to 8-8 and our first winning season in what felt like an age. The next season we came out on fire and won the division. Sometimes it takes an amazing display of of determination and execution to right a rudderless ship.
Yes, I would have preferred the Defense to have stepped up and for Schweigert to have made a tackle on the first of Winslow’s catches. That being said, I feel the blocked kick will have a greater psychological impact on the players than we may realize. Just like Wheatly’s run, I pray that the block will act as catalyst for the remainder of the season, and for years to come for that matter.
Oh and note to Fabian and Schweigert…when your team blocks a kick, just fall on the ball…Watch the NFL Superbowl film of Raiders v. Redskins for starters. We blocked a punt and FELL on it (granted it was in the endzone)!!!
September 27th, 2007 at 6:08 pm
Just in, Dante starts. I want to make a Porter guarantee. JOEY, what. How about JERRY. Get him ball. FOUR catches. We know we can run. Let Dante light it up, Porter, Curry. Blow out.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
It’s Daunte, not Dante. My cat’s name is Dante…two separate individuals. Yo truth, where’d you read that??
September 27th, 2007 at 6:11 pm
I agree, he is either being a jerk, or he is really trying to get into DC’s head to motivate him. After 7 yrs and 3 pro bowls, playing with Randy and Cris Carter, dealing with the ‘boat party’ back when, I don’t think you’re gonna get in his head Kiff.
This guy has been thru too much to be affected by this. He has responded by being a true pro, I expect his performance Sunday will speak for itself. After that, these games need to be over. DC needs all the practice reps for the bye week and then to get ready for the Chargeless. McBoot can go back to a safer, injury free existence on the sidelines. I would say carrying the clipboard, but that is JR’s job.
If the D gives us 4 solid quarters, and the run game stays the same, DC will burn them with play action. We COULD blow them out. It may very well be a close game, but if we do those things, we could blow them out.
Raiders 30 Fish 13 ya heard!
JUST WIN WITH DAUNTE BABY!!!!
September 27th, 2007 at 6:19 pm
I’m a carpenter foreman. I know its not anything like being a head coach, buts its still a role that you have to get the most out of each person. What I’m saying is, some peole need to be patted on the back and reassured all the time. While others you almost have to doubt so they can prove you wrong. Take wemon for example. Some you have to tell them how pretty the are, build them up to get their attention. While others you have to ignore or almost be rude to them to get their attention. Maybe this is Kiffin reading his players personality to get the most out of them. Maybe he feels Daunte is the I’ll show your a$$ type of person. Just a thought.
Anyways…. I’M IN
September 27th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
Kiff, we love ya, we really do, but this whole coy QB thing is sounding pretty high school. Even for a coach who comes from a college.
Start Culpepper, tell everyone you’re starting Culpepper and look like a pro.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:26 pm
Negra good point. I live in Denver and travel a bit I love to find a place to watch our RAIDERS without having to sit next to someone whose team wears pastel.
I’M ALWAYS IN
September 27th, 2007 at 6:28 pm
soooooooooooo annoying kiffen, i hope you get a kick out of it, cause this QB thing bothers me, more than it does the dolphins.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:29 pm
Tom Jackson of BSPN says Maimi - whouda thunk it?!? Fing Ahole he is.
Everylast one of em is pickin the fins too - cept Allen and Golic.
I hate that site anymore!
September 27th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
Oh yeah and just says who is starting (pssst Daunte) - give em every rep possible live with your call.
Josh had his 15 seconds.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Mike–
The whole coy QB thing is just GAY! That said, I really like the direction Lane Kiffin is taking this team.
Actually, the mere fact that he HAS a direction is an upgrade for this team.
*RAIDER NATION, baby…somos pocos pero locos!*
September 27th, 2007 at 6:38 pm
Damn! When we said enough was enough on Kiffin’s secretcy stuff regarding which QB is starting last night, we got attacked by fans, but tonight the tone seems to have changed. It’s amazing how the editors take can influence some fans to speak out about something they’ve been wanting too say all along in the first place but punked out for fear of fan reaction as if someone could punch them through the computer screen. it took Jerry’s Karate kid quote to get people to come out of their shells. My wanting to know isn’t about my fantasy team, it’s more of my real life team, I want to know what the best chances are for pulling out a Raiders victory on Sunday, and DC gives us that chance. We shouldn’t have to wait until game time to find out which QB is going to be in, we should have enough warning to know if we should either withdrawl our bets with friends, or vomet in the corner when the wrong QB is in.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
I’m sure Kiffin is supporting DC. It’s just nobody’s business outside of the team.
Keep up the secret squirrel stuff Kiff so people have something to blog about.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:53 pm
Sean Salsbury of was on Mike & Mike this morning and said if Rex Grossman were on the Raiders, he would be starting at QB — like it would be a no-brainer. LOL. What a dip$hit.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:54 pm
The Raiders did wear Black last week at home against Cleveland.
September 27th, 2007 at 6:57 pm
There are 50 other guys on the team that probably would like to understand who they are going to war with.
The “Im not gonna tell who the QB is” stuff is just rookie coach stupid.
“Duh I gotta see how how Josh is doing before I make up my mind…”
Christ Kiff, look at the film! Look At The Film!! I repeat - LOOK AT THE F’ING FILM AND SIMPLY COUNT FUMBLES AND INTs!!!! All you need to know. And if you want to subract 3 or 4 and blame someone else - you’ll still have reason to go strong with Daunte.
We all gave Josh a chance - Next.
AW can’t wait to leave the madness.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:05 pm
Chris in NY - You know stuff like that just amazes me. It makes you wonder if these analyst just hate the Raiders or even follow whats going on with the Raiders - rambling total BS just to have a punch line. Comments these analyst make just shows you how little homework they do.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:07 pm
Coach on Wheels, you stated last night that Kiffin wasn’t listening to a bunch of people on a blog. I just hope you understand that this goes for you as well.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:09 pm
Baldinger (sp) picked the Raiders btw on AFC Playbook. Sterling picked the Fish. Baldinger (sp) clearly does his homework. I don’t think Sterling Sharpe can even phantom picking the Raiders to win anything - must be his brothers influence (donkey lovin). He even picked the Browns last week. Baldinger picked the Raiders I believe.

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/showscontent?page=/nflnetwork/programs/playbook&subjectType=playbook
Last week I’m not 100% but I think Bald picked Oakland too. I’m sure Sterling didn’t.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
He even went so far as to say the Raiders can run on anybody! Doesn’t matter, anybody! Hope he’s right because we’re going to need our running game this week esp if its going to rain.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:28 pm
I’ll be watching the Playbook show later. I also read that Kirk was mic’ed up during the browns game and we could see it on HBOs Inside the NFL.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
RaiderRevival, do you not have a better choice to start at QB? Culpepper and McCown are not even on rosters in my league. It’s one thing to be a Raiders fan. It’s another thing to be an overzealous fantasy owner. You need to know when to separate your love for the Silver and Black from business.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
Iread one of the comments earlier where the guy said it was good to see Gallery back…Not many of us would have said that the last couple of years, not just last. He definitely is one reason we’re opening holes on the left side for our runners.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:41 pm
kiff knows who is starting, mr. davis knows who is starting, so does the rest of the team.
he is just doing the raider mind meld to keep people talking about the raiders and it is working, isn’t it??!!
even jerry said he was hiding his little smirk while on the subject of the starting qb.
go on kiff, and full speed ahead for daunte.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
oak hill bill, what good does it do the Raiders to have people talk about them? What’s the stradegy there? The Raiders are already known Worldwide. The only thing the Raiders want to hear people talking about is how great the win was.
September 27th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
I love all these people who were all over Daunte’s jock two seasons ago have completely abandoned him and gave up on him. Did Salsbury really disrespect Daunte by saying Grossman would start here? That’s so f@@@ed up!
Daunte you are fighting the media and your own coach who think you don’t got it anymore. It’s not enough to play decent this Sunday you got to unload old school Culpepper and go for 350 and 4 TD’s. Come on DC I know you got it in you!!! Prove them all wrong!!!!
September 27th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
only mr. davis knows why. he enjoys his team as a hot topic in the sports world, that the raiders are relevant because people are talking about his raiders. on both sides, good bad, hot so cold. so long as people are talking.
sportscasters create schewed stories to keep things going.
im guessing daunte and kiff know how this will play out by design and contract. if the game plan gets high completion marks, a qb will stay as the starter. didn’t mr. gruden do something like that time ago?
go raiders
September 27th, 2007 at 9:41 pm
do not want to include schewed stories by sportscasters with jerry.
this is a great forum for football junk, like nothing before it.
i try to enjoy good times because they do not always last.
believe good times are ahead if all stay healthy and happy, on the field and in their roles.
go defense,
go offense,
go raiders
September 27th, 2007 at 10:20 pm
No, Al Davis isn’t into the speaking about the Raiuders stuff, he’s the person who thinks the Raiders name alone speaks volume enough. He would never ok a hush hush on keeping the QB situaion quiet simply because he wants people to talk about the Raiders. Al Davis wants to win, and he doesn’t want anything to overshadow the Raiders, so the Head Coach doing this just to keep people talking about the Raiders would mean that Kiffin would have the spot light shine on him, and Al Davis isn’t going for that.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:00 pm
Who cares if YOU know who the starting QB will be? Does Kiffin call any of you and ask your opinion before making personnel decisions?
Just be a fan and enjoy the way the Raiders are playing. They are getting better and the team as a whole is responding to Kiffin and his offensive scheme.
Kiffin is not required to name his starter. That is why he is the coach and we are fans.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:17 pm
This is getting old!! Kiffen should just admit that!! The best QB on our team right now is C-PEP!! Playing McCown with a broken toe would be the stupidest thing ever!! This is high school crap!!And I’ll admit, the more he does this, the less confidence I have in him!! Either that or he just does’nt like C-Pep very much!!
September 27th, 2007 at 11:30 pm
Kiffin is doing what he thinks HE needs to do for his team. It doesn’t matter wether we like it or not. It’s his job to get this team ready to play. If it’s a problem as far as that’s concerrned I have a problem with him. If it helps him in any way real or imagined I don’t have a problem with it. So Kiffin all I want is continued improvement, whatever gets that done is alright with me. JUST WIN BABY and I don’t care how you do it.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
I know alot of people out there like the big name in Culpepper, as do I. But McCown’s energy is hard to match at that position. I mean the guy cracked his finger, slipped on that awesome infield that jacked up his ankle in the opener, only to come back and run 20-30 yards straight into a defender at Denver(watch the film, McCown sees him, he just needs to be hit to feel right or something). The only other quarterback still playing with this type of heart is Brett Favre (Gannon if he still played). If McCown played more, he would only get better. Now he breaks his toe, and still wants out there even though he is told 2 weeks by the doctor. But we should go with Duante because he is healthy and proven in the league. But I tell you I now Kiffin is the right coach based off the fact that he originally started McCown (heart) and not Culpepper (experience). Who knows, maybe this is 1980 again and all this is meant to be.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:43 pm
The guys on the team kjnow who is starting. They know from practice, team meetings etc… Just because the media isn’t informed during the 20 minute window doesn’t mean the team doesn’t know.
Yep. Kiffin doesn’t have to inform me either. The only difference is I’m not so self-absorbed that I throw a fit and disparage the coach or put him down just because he doesn’t worry about keeping me up to speed.
We’ll see on Sunday if Daunte does a good job improving our pass defense since that’sour weakest area through three weeks.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:43 pm
I’m not going to mention the person’s name to whom I’m responding too because he/or she didn’t direct their comment at anyone in particular, so I’ll just pretend I’m talking to air. No, Kiffin doesn’t call us to ask our opinion before making personnel decisions, but the Raiders Accounts Recievable sure calls me to ask where the hell my season ticket payment is. How about yourself, you all paid up?
Just be a fan my a**! Real fans want to know who the starting QB is going to be, and all were doing is giving opinions, now, if you don’t like what you read here, then don’t come here!
Kiffin is not required to name his starter? Does that include game day as well? Let me know because I want to prepared.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:05 am
i was watching playbook AFC on the NFLN, there were breaking down Patriot defensive film and what I saw was very simular to what we do on defense jumping from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and lbitzing from all angles. But they seem to have a better handle on it. they been it much longer . Mike Vrabel and Rosie Colvin also Teddy Bruschie are their big play guy’s. All were once DE’s in college, experiensed pass rushers fit real well in that zone blitzing scheme. the only guy that we have sinular to them is Sam Williams. Morrison and Howard are not natural edge rushersbut and i think the other is Chris Clemons, we will see. but I did see on several occasions when we went to the 3-4 Burgess was the OLB along with Sam and they both came off the edge. This a package that I think has the most promise on obvious passing downs. They can mix in Clemns with Warren playing the nose and Sapp at DE. Once they get this down I think your going to see a much improved pass rush
September 28th, 2007 at 12:08 am
Respond to it however you wish and I’ll do the same OK.
September 28th, 2007 at 1:39 am
What is it with this Sean Salsbury, he always dogs the Raiders. Tonight on NFL TONIGHT, he commented on Porter promising Miami was going to beat us, and he commented “It’s the Raiders, so big deal, he just as well could have said ‘we are going to beat Florida” (alluding to a college team). I wonder if he has a history of the Raiders beating the snot out of him when he was playing QB. I vaguely remember he was a back-up at S.D. Charges, but not 100% sure. Either way he is an idiot. I am going to fast forward through his commentary from now on. He has lost all credibility as professional commentator for his childish attack on our team. If anybody knows the story (including you Jerry) please speculate as to why he has a bone to pick with us.
September 28th, 2007 at 1:48 am
On Jerry Porter. What is his problem? I can see why 4 catches. He is a man that lacks integrety. A sloth last year, a lackadaisical performer this year. What makes him think he is a Randy Moss, when he has NO acolades to speak of. He supposed to have all this potential but he is such a loner. I hope Daunte is able to harmonize with this dude. I believe he has potential but his delusions of gradeur stiffle that potential. Potential is nothing unless it is released. I hope for everybody’s sake, someone can turn his switch on.
September 28th, 2007 at 1:50 am
That is not a misspell. I meant loner (no loser)
September 28th, 2007 at 2:31 am
It’s not like Porter is dropping balls….He just isn’t getting them thrown to him. DC will definitely take advan of JP, no doubt. Can’t wait for Sunday nite, I’ll be camping this weekend and I promised myself not to take the portable dish to watch. As it is I’ll be at my Sons football game at 8am Sat, and we will leave from the site to go camping overnite on the Kern River above Kernville. We’ll be leaving in the afternoon for home and I will fire up the DVR at that time.
Of course I will have to get a final score if I have celly service up there. Next time the Raiders play in Miami, I am planning on flying out. I really want to see a game in New Orleans, that would be a BLAST!!!!
Alright boys….time for beddy by…
JUST WIN WITH DAUNTE BABY!!!!!
September 28th, 2007 at 5:09 am
Porter’s probably basing his prediction on game film from last week. Perhaps he saw this (FF to 3:17, and note our pass rush, and keep in mind this is a two point game)…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADJ8BYoH-QI
September 28th, 2007 at 5:16 am
Perhaps JP isn’t getting balls thrown to him because he’s not getting any separation from the cornerbacks. How is Daunte going to change that? The one catch he had last week, he was covered very well. Luckily he went up high and made a nice grab.
September 28th, 2007 at 5:29 am
Porter can make some great catches. He is the only reason Collins ever had a completion. Porter will be good for us with DC.
MCBoot (Chad that is funny!) was to conservative to let go of the ball.
September 28th, 2007 at 5:59 am
there are some people on here with comments that just dont make any sense OR they are dumb morons that need to question their own loyalty.
September 28th, 2007 at 6:35 am
Well I have yet to find a true Raiders bar in donkeycountry but I know of a place I like to go in full Raiders colors it’s called the Sunset bar and grill on Prairie ave in Pueblo. It just happens to be the self proclaimed donkeys headquarters in Pueblo and the only place they may telivise the Raiders game is in the can but it’s fun to go in and give the donkey fans some crap. I watch my Raiders games in the comfort of my living room anyway so it doesn’t matter to me
September 28th, 2007 at 6:36 am
I’m starting to get a little worried about Kiffin’s health. If he keeps playing “hide the starting QB” Las Vegas might send some guys out to Oaktown to remind him that it is important to their business to find out who will be the starter for setting the lines! Kiffin, if you see Joe Pesci, or anyone that looks like him, walking down the street towards you…cross the street!
September 28th, 2007 at 6:47 am
Sean Salisbury is a complete and utter idiot.
That he gets paid to spout his opinion is insane.
Had he even looked up the ranking on Grossman and McCown on the site the company that pays him has - and if he can read - he might have seen McCown at 25 and Grossman at 33
McCown has a 75 rating and Grossman a 45.
Good work Sean!

Albuquerque has two Raider bars one is Elliot’s and the other is Hooters on the West Side.
September 28th, 2007 at 6:50 am
Oops - 75 rating for McCown!
(Guessing I need to send this in before I get pummeled by the Nation.)
September 28th, 2007 at 6:57 am
Good Morning RAIDER NATION!! Im liking what coach Kiff is doin with the team, the practicing in BLACK jerseys is awsome what a great fkn coaching sceme. And how about our O line what a hell of a job they are doing, hope they keep this loud mouth porter out Dauntes face and dont allow him a sack. GO GET EM BOYS!!!!!!!!! and speaking of loud mouths what happend to this so called CHARGER fan that was coming here to talk sh#t? did his mommy take his computer away.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:01 am
Kiffen knows who his QB is he’s just not telling anyone. This is an important game for us if we want to prove all the nay sayers wrong. If we win adn win big, we get a week of all the butt heads out there eating freakin’ crow! If we squeek by again, there won’t be any faith until we start putting points between us and the bad guys.
Raiders rule!
September 28th, 2007 at 7:02 am
I have an idea why Sean is disrespecting Daunte. Salsbury steak was a long time terrible vikings QB. Some of his famous F-ups include back in 93′ when the Vikes won the division for the first time under Green, Green benched Rich Gannon in favor of Salsbury for the playoffs and Sean BLEW IT!!! He gavce the game away. Maybe he’s jealous that Daunte was a superior Vikings QB and he made everyone forget what a big part of the team Sean actually was. Who knows, just a thought.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:15 am
Everyone who complains about Kiffin not naming the starting QB has to realize that it all has to do with trying to win games, which is in the fans best interest. We have no idea what is going on behind closed doors so how can anyone claim Kif is not behind Culpepper? If there is a semblence of doubt on who will start coaches usually keep that in house. Coaches who have won Super Bowls use the tactic all the time (Shanahan, Belicheck) and no one refers to those guys as bush league. It’s frustrating not knowing who the starter is for all of us, but nothing Kiffin is doing is that unusual in NFL circles.
One note on McCown…he has heart and moxie when he plays and definitely gives it his all. But I will say his multiple injuries are also a result of his uncontrolled style and at QB I’m not sure that is what you want. You never want your starting QB to take a shot like he did in Denver. It was completely avoidable. If your starting QB is running around like a mad man and getting injured it doesn’t create too much stability at the position. Guts & fire is one thing, but you have to pick your spots.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:27 am
How much longer is Burgess going to milk the injury. I guess it will last until he get
a new contract. It may be time to get something for him. He is going to want the house
if the Raiders cave in. He will be 30 next season so why not get something for him
before he becomes a cancer with his attitude. I’m sure the coaches know what he
is doing, so it will begin to wear on them pretty soon. Strain calf, going on 4 weeks,
give me a break. Nobody is talking about it.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:40 am
Very excited with the prospect of being 2-2 heading into the bye week.
Course pepper will start and i think its a huge plus. Its not that i hate McCown i just dont think he has an nfl caliber arm. Heart, yes, leadership yes but sometimes you have to make that tough throw that pepper can make and josh will never be able to make.
I think we will do well against the run and continue to run well. Pepper will throw 2 td’s with jordan rushing for one and seabass adding another 6.
The only real concern i have is pass protection and pass rush. I am a bit concerned about taylor. I know he hasnt played well but simms does struggle against the speedy guys. Kiffin will have to adjust and offer additional protection if he sees simms struggling. Pass pressure is the other adjustment we will need to make if our 4 arent cutting it. I think this is a top weakness on our team and i see little effort by ryan to compensate by bringing blitz packages.
Final score: 27-17
Raiders 2-2
donkeys 2-2
dolts 2-2
quifs 1-3
September 28th, 2007 at 7:47 am
You’ll get a chuckle out of this. Sean Salisbury played for our Canadian Football League team, the “Blue Bombers”, for a couple of years. The first year we won the CFL championship due to an overwhelming defense. All S.S. did was manage the game and not screw up too much. The next season, he stunk the joint out and was basically run out of town on a rail. There was even word that in his last, meaningless game in Winnipeg, a few o-linemen gave d-linemen free shots at him in the fourth quarter. He was known to be a whiner who laid blame everywhere but on himself.
As for Jerry Porter; He would have had two TDs against Denver, the second being the game winner, if J.M. could throw a half-decent deep ball. Get him the ball and he’ll make plays. This might be the week with D.C. chucking. Go Raiders!
September 28th, 2007 at 7:55 am
Sean Salisbury is a weak and low class announcer that can barely formulate a sentence. He was a sub par QB and a career backup. He got suspended last year at ESPN for taking pictures of his little Johnson and showing it to women employees at ESPN. Putting them in an uncomfortable situation and a potential lawsuit. It got handled internally and Salisbury got a two week suspension.
So let’s recap the pathetic downtrodden careers of Sean Salisbury.
He can’t play football he can’t be a trusted reporter of NFL news and he is a horrible employee.
Three strikes you’re out LOSER!!!

September 28th, 2007 at 8:01 am
Why does everyone get their panties in a twist about the QB thing??? Just read between the lines, no practice for McCown…Culpepper to play. McCown IS still the starter, until someone proves otherwise, and last time I checked, the game isn’t until Sunday…who gives a shit? Quite whining about it and calling him bush league…a lot of coaches do it.
And as for the BSPN bias…plenty of those media whores jumped on the bandwagon when Gannon and Gruden were winning earlier in the decade. So as far as the “haters” go, it has just as much to do with the fact that we have sucked for 4 years, and we have yet to blow anyone’s socks off yet. Their coverage is basic and superficial…just like it is with everyone. Chill out a little…

I watch the Raiders at a sports bar in Norton, MA.(just a few miles from Gillette stadium).
Nice place. I do have to put up with alot of self righteous Pat’s fans. God they’re annoying.
When they try to give me s#3tm i mention the word “cheating” usually shuts them up.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:21 am
In respect of our football team, is it possible that we all start typing our Coach and perhaps starting QB’s name correct?
if you’re called Jimmy and I wrote Jimi, well you wouldn’t think I was addressing you, would you… johnny or jonny for that matter….
Our Coach is name Lane Kiffin, it ends on IN like im ‘IN’ or like coffin
Our QB’s name is Daunte not Dante… Daunte like it’s a new Dawn… =)
This is Dante -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante
This is Daunte -> http://www.nfl.com/players/profile?id=CUL586056
These are the guys thats going to take our beloved franchise out this abyss, so the least we can do is spell our future saviors names correct…
September 28th, 2007 at 8:21 am
Sean Salisbury played his last year with the Bolts and thats why he dogs the Raiders all the time. Finally, the Raider game is in high definition on the NFL Ticket.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:32 am
It is about to Time!!! My beloved Raiders coming to the M.I.A. and cook some of our weak dolphin for lunch. Everybody down here is guaranting the Dolphins first victory so the excitment level here is pretty high..they still consider us the laughingstock of the league…cant wait to walk into Pro Player stadium with my Raiders jersey!
Does anyone know whats the likelyhood of getting autographs prior to the game?? Might be a pipe dream but I wasnt sure how it works. Is there any interaction with players before or after gametime..got great seats behind visitor section and would love to get a football signed by Kirk Morrisson our soon to be Pro Bowl LB!!!!
**Does anyone know where the Raiders will be staying (hotel) before game?? Charles Oakley in a previous post said that would be the best route for autographs….Anyone know of this?? Does the stadium allow fans to watch the team warm up before the game?? It would be a dream to get autographs preferrably of Mr. Oakland - Kirk Morission …THANKS EVERYONE **
Thank Raider Faithful!

If your really making a list of raider bars here is a really good one for you.
The cornner pocket sports bar in citrus heights ca,That would be in the sacramento area, they even
play the blacked out games at the cornner pocket they get the games out of chico.
On blacked out game days you will have to pay 5 dollars to get in but the place is 8000
sq feet and has 3 big screen tv with about 20 other tvs.
You will find about 250 to 300 raider fans there on blacked out game days, for the best
seats get there early. If you want to call them to find out where they are call
916-722-club
September 28th, 2007 at 8:41 am
Some of you guys act like your supposed to be invited to the offensive meetings. Get over it. Everybody knows c-pep is starting. Does Kiffen have to spell it out for you? Cut the guy some slack. I like what i have seen thru 3 weeks. A very competative footballteam that never quits. I guess some people are never happy. When they beat the chargers i will be very happy. But mark my words, BSPN and SI “stands for steelers illustraited as far as i’m concerned” will both downplay our win and blame it on SD losing as opposed to us winning. But we willknow the truth!
September 28th, 2007 at 8:44 am
I’m glad Salisbury is always talking sh*t about the Raiders. I hope the players watch and get a little extra motivation. On several occasions I’ve heard him (as well as countless others, opine that, “…the Raiders will never win as long as Al Davis is still in charge.” I wonder how they’ll get out of that one once the Raiders start winning again?
September 28th, 2007 at 8:59 am
After we beat the brownies they were all debating changing the time out rule , when the donkies beat us with it there was a bit of humor about it from them , shows their bias at ASSESPN ! If we win the division then they’ll be saying “I’m In!” .
September 28th, 2007 at 9:00 am
Fritz the barking Penguin
They hated us when we won and they have been waiting 40 years to kick dirt on us, now that they have the chance they are not going to let up. Only one thing will cure this, winning games, then we can all watch indigents like Salisbury eat crow. The guy is a loser period.
The one thing that continues to crack me up about this forum is the football knowledge people here think they have. Everyone in here knows more than coach Kiffin and is ready to tell him how he should be running the team. I wonder why none of the posters in this forum were interviewed for the head coaching job when it was vacant. Or is willing to spend countless hours watching practices, game film and studying match ups it takes to do this job. This is a 24 hour a day 7 days a week 365 days a year job. And we posters spend a total of 5 minutes typing and playing Monday Morning QB.

A lot of those loser SAs at one time wanted to play for the Raiders and are probably pissed Al told their agents NO!!! Also you got the former players who are SAs who got their assess whupped real good playing us and still hate us for that.
September 28th, 2007 at 9:05 am
Well if no one wanted to state their opinion’s, wants, etc… then there would be no need of blogs.
September 28th, 2007 at 9:10 am
CULPEPPER is our starting QB!! If he does’nt play, Joey Porters prediction of a MIAMI win will ring true!! Period!! We could not win with a healthy McCown, so what makes any one think we can win with an injured one!! This is my opinion!! So dont get your panties in a knot!! McCown SUCKS!! I’ll give him props for being tough!! But you need more than grit and toughness to win games right now!! You need TALENT!! And it just so happens that CULPEPPER has talent!! Look, I did’nt even mention kiffen’s decision making!! This is just an opinion!! Take for what it’s woth! Thats ALL!!! Go Silver and Black!!

I’m kinda glad this blog isn’t a cheer leading board full of nothing but praises , criticism and analysis from fans is motivating , ask Mike Williams somehow he knew fans wanted SeaBass cut , he read that some where?

Chargers choke…….YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT!! You made my point!! I dont believe in towing the line!! I love the Raiders just as much as anyone!! But that does not mean I have to agree with everything the coach does!! Kiffen is the right COACH for us!! Our opinions are just that!! OPINIONS!! No big deal!!

La Milicia Negra,
in Maine come to Boothbay Harbor, right downtown to Pier 1, to the Pier 1 Pub; they have the Ticket and although it’s Patsies land they always grant me one of the 3 TVs for Raiders.
On my trip to Oakland this last weekend, first thing I noticed is ALL of Oakland is one big Raider bar! Was awesome to walk into Oakland Hilton and see all the employees, as well as patrons, fully decked in S&B gear. Tom Flores was there as well. The hotel bar is fully a Raider bar with multiple screens.
Now I have an observation/question: day before the game, we spent in SF…we saw Raider garb everywhere, all day long…but saw literally two people with 49s gear - TWO! What’s up with that?? Are the whiners in hiding? or do the Raiders completely OWN the Bay Area?
Also we sat with Gilbert Arenas on the flight out…quite the character
September 28th, 2007 at 10:12 am
meant to note,
Oakland Hilton bar address is 1 Hegenberger Rd, off of Doolittle Dr.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:13 am
Niner fans only represent publicly when their team is winning. They got their heads handed to them by the Steelers, so everyone’s in hiding until they win again.
And, yes, the Raiders do own the Bay Area. You won’t see Niner colors in a Raider bar, although that may be because Raider bars don’t serve wine spritzers.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:28 am
spritzers, heh heh, and that’s on Sat. PM … Sundays are shirley temples all around for the whiner fans

Silver-N-Black666 -
Amen brother, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Doesn’t everyone realize that Kiffin and the rest of his team know exactly who the starting qb is going to be? Of course they do. Everyone needs to stop bitching all the time and just enjoy the ride. DC is starting on Sunday for those of you that have yet to figure that one out.

To all those telling us to just be happy that Kiffin is moving the Raiders in the right direction, guess what? It’s his job! He’s suppose to move the Raiders in the right direction! Why do you think he was hired as Head Caoch? To look great in a headset, and Raiders visor?
Again, this is a Raiders blog, if Raider fans want to gripe about somthing, this is what this forum is about, it’s not the Raiders stat board. What is the difference between fans questioning one of the players here, and the Head Coach? None! They’re both Raiders!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:46 am
LMN,
I am at work and am doing other things while typing. Its called multitasking. You should quit your job working for the spelling and grammar police and read the message. Did you know who i was talking about? Yes you did. Is that not whats important on a stupid football thread? Its notlike this is a job application.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:50 am
I’m starting to think Kiffin is an idiot. If he does not start Dante this Sunday raider fans will be calling for his head. I was at the game last Sunday and let me tell you, Dante had more command of that team and the offense. He lead us on two of our better scoring drives this season. I think he could put up big numbers if he gets an entire game. I don’t know what is wrong with Kiffin or why he is so in love with Josh. I’m sure Josh is a nice guy and a hard worker but he lacks the skills needed to win.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:50 am
Nectar on parthenia and balboa has a whole wall painted like the black hole. They have the Violator and that other skull shouldered dude painted on the wall. Also Robin Hood british pup in north hollywood is a raider bar. Black and tan’s and shepards pie go very well with a raider game.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Reading the blog today and it appears the natives are getting a little restless, MIA is going to be another tough game but if ST show up and pass rush it might not be a nail bitter. Ready for a good solid win.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:55 am
Oh no, i spelled pub pup. LMN is going tolet me hear about this.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:03 am
Whiners belong on the other side of the bay. Anyone that calls Kiffin an idiot should look in the mirror. I am so tired of all you “know it alls” who back up their bitching with more bitching. SHUT UP ALREADY!
September 28th, 2007 at 11:04 am
So having an opinion and posting ones thoughts in here is fine so is agreeing with other like minded people who post on similar topics. That’s what this forum is here for. All of us fans who have different opinions can logically and rationally debate.
But calling the coach an idiot just because he won’t tell you (the almighty fan) who he is starting at QB just shows how low your IQ is.
So yes opine if you will and have opinions, but don’t think you are smarter than Coach Kiffin when it comes to running this team or you would have interviewed for the job yourself.

Guys- although Salisbury clearly dislikes the raiders for all reasons listed above- and as susch of course we dislike him—————
YOU MISSED THE POINT COMPLETELY!- By saying Grossman could start on the Raiders, he wasnt insulting the raiders quarterbacks (Culpepper, Russell or Walter)- He was insulting the raiders coaching(kiffin) for picking the worst one of the group (mccown)—-GET IT: ie: Everyone but the coach knew grossman should not be the starter in Chicago- but the coach stuck stubbornly with Grossman— Salisbury is saying that the only place they are more stubborn is the Raiders- ie with Kiffin sticking with McCown or pretending to- He is saying that the Raiders by continuing to say McCown might start despite the toe and poor play and turnovers- are acting like chicago and sticking with the worst QB choice- as such- by saying Grossman would start with the Raiders - SALISBURY IS INSULTING GROSSMAN & KIFFIN & McCOWN NOT CULPEPPER!! Do you guys understand he was clearly BEING SARCASTIC….he does this all the time….

Miami Sunday - partly cloudy High of 83 degrees. That’s good news.
Big questions for the game:
Can Oakland get up for a road game and get its first road win since 2005?
Can DC get Porter involved?
Can Williams catch?
Can we get ANY pass rush?
Can Routt / Washington / Huff cover anybody man-to-man?
Seabass of week 1 or of week 3?
It would be nice to see skinny Sapp get a sack.
Why bashing Kiffin’s gamesmanship seems ignorant:
If the Raiders beat Miami and the Colts beat Denver we will be:
.500 for the first time since Gannon was hurt
Be tied for 1st in the AFC West for the first time since 2003.
Have a real offense for the first time since 2003.
Considering we’ve had a 4th quarter lead in every game this year, a little D and the “sneaky” Kiffin people are whining about has a 2-14 team at 4-0. We’ve been in every game and that is a huge improvement.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:13 am

See my earlier posts about Salisbury’s failure on many levels in life and in being a human being. Also, if you do understand that stupid idiot you should be taken out to the woods and shot

Ummmm, is it just me or is that props post from Raiderdogg right after Silver-N-Black666 a little suspect? Something fishy is going on here lol.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:20 am
On AFC Playbook on the NFLN Brian Baldinger broke down some film of the offensive line play. All I can say is Tom Cable is THE MAN! Our line was opening so many holes and consisitently getting to the second level, laying licks on lb’s after mowing down dlineman! It was such a pleasure to see our o-line doing their thing. It is like night and day compared to last year. This o-line unit is only going to get better and we already are the 3rd ranked rushing attack in the NFL! Just wait until they really gel up front, we may be close to unstoppable with the run. BTW Baldinger predicted a win for the S & B but Sterling Sharpe thinks Ronnie Brown is going to run all over us. Little does he know…

September 28th, 2007 at 11:27 am
i agree he is an idiot- i am not agreeing with salisbury at all- please see my many previous posts- i am merely explaining sarcasm- an oft used part of the english language- that said - by misunderstanding simple english - those commenting above are making raiders fans look unintelligent as well - which is completely not the case as we well know- comments like shooting people in the woods for providing clarification of what was and was not said- beyond being helpful- further insult the Intelligence of RaiderNation- as a point of fact I would say that generally intelligence is when you CAN understand - Stupidity is when you CAN NOT — And if you CAN NOT understand to begin with- how would you know what was being said was stupid????
September 28th, 2007 at 11:28 am
I actually don’t consider him a bully, more of a realist. Considering his post name is Silver-N-Black666 maybe we should be grateful that he isn’t more brutal. The mark of the beast can really bog some people down.

I loathe sarcastic people. In society today it is deemed as “cool” almost as a witty sign of intellegence. I see it as the trademark of a fool who gets off on putting others down who has intellectual insecurites.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:43 am
Sarcasm can be hilarious when applied correctly. Sarcasm doesn’t translate as well in type because you cannot hear the inflection of the voice that normally clues you into the sarcastic comment that was just made. A Raider blog is not a place to be over sensitive when it comes to other people’s rebuttals to comments that you or I may have made. Accept them for what they are and know that we are all in the same boat here. We may not all agree but we do have an outlet to express and share our opinions with other like minded individuals. I personally love this shit, especially now that Charger is nowhere to be found. Things have gotten so much better since that dude disappeared. So sit back and enjoy the ride and try not to despise the people that disagree with you. No matter how valid your point may be or seem not everyone will agree. Just the way it is. And if you don’t agree with me than F YOU! See sarcasm can be funny when used correctly

Yeah I live in the SD area, the chargers fans used to bug the S#!t out of me. Havent heard a pep from them in 2 weeks. The chargers will be the new laughing stock of the NFL. I hate the chargers. Merriman is on pace for half the sacks he had last year over a full schedule. See what life with roids gets him!!!!!! What a myopian. ROFLMAO at the charger debacle.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:50 am
I think his withholding the starter info is perceived by other NFL staffs as somewhat humorous, but most teams I assume prepare for McCown expecting the drop offs and pounding the rock, with Duante they could expect drops offs, rocking the line, and a anytime deep throw, I expect the fins will prepare for Duante and be prepared for all phases of our possible game plan. If anything I think Kiffin should state McCown as being the starter but then at game time start Culpepper .
September 28th, 2007 at 11:56 am
good point raider dogg and gandhi - hearing and reading the same comment can give it two completely different meanings- and salisbury does think hes better than everyone - a question was asked earlier about bars in the US –how about more specifically—– WHAT IS THE BEST RAIDERS BAR IN LOS ANGELES??? Im sick of going to the bar and being surrounded by chargers fans when they dont have raiders games on television

You sir are a hypocrite! I suppose you are just like Senator Craig I would expect to see you in a rest stop men’s room tapping your foot. Stay out of the arena you can’t compete with me your IQ is probably under 100.
I didn’t say anything negative earlier except concerning Salisbury. If you want to relate to him then take a picture of your Johnson and put it on your cell phone and take it around work and show all the females there. Then you can be just like Sean Salisbury. That is if you get suspended for two weeks because of it.
All I was pointing out to people in here today is that if they think they are smarter than the Coach Kiffin then why did they not interview for the job when it was open. If you want to crucify me for pointing that out to you then maybe I hit a nerve and should be talking directly to you.
Raiderdogg said it best you can’t be oversensitive in this blog.
RaiderDude don’t just call someone a prick without giving a proper reason why you feel that way.

This is a blog full of opinions and sarcasm. I in no way mean literally that anyone should ever be shot. It was a saying taken to the woods and shot. It was not a personal attack on you but yet the fact that someone would side or completely understand the maniacal mind of Sean Salisbury.
So for this I apologize.
The Gandhi guy man you were great and the people really rallied around you in India. But your poster that is impersonating you is not even the beginning of a pimple on your butt.

“Oh and note to Fabian and Schweigert…when your team blocks a kick, just fall on the ball…Watch the NFL Superbowl film of Raiders v. Redskins for starters. We blocked a punt and FELL on it (granted it was in the endzone)!!!”
GRAVE YARD: FYI: Nothing good could ever come from jumping on the ball after a blocked field goal attempt. Once the kicking team touches it, it’s dead, unless the blocking team touches it first. Blocked punts, on the other hand, are fair game!

This Salisbury talk makes me even more proud to be a Raider fan because we all agree that it is mind boggling that this guy gets paid alot of money to talk about a subject he has no clue on. We all know he sucked as a player and is worse at being a sports analyst. BSPN is full of guys that got their butts whooped by Raider teams at one point or another. Tom Jackson, Mark Schlereth, Joe Theisman, Ron Jaworski. All these guys were garbage when they faced the Raiders. SO anything they have to say means absolutely nothing. They all hate Al and I agree that maybe it’s because when they cam seeking employment, AL slammed the door in their faces. So because of all that nonsense i don’t watch BSPN that much. I stick with NFL network. Those guys have credibility because they have credentials to back up their analysis. Marshall Faulk, Rod Woodson, Deion Sanders(all future H.O.Famers) and others that work on that network at least give a fair judgement on all teams. Look at Baldinger and Sharpe who host the Playbook show, they give fair assessment of each matchup and make their predictions. No bias judgement, just their opinions on why their picks will win. Just my thoughts.

Great point LARDR76 I never thought of it that way. All of those idiots at BSPN got schooled by the S & B at one point or another in their career. I don’t watch or read BSPN crap either. It’s NFLNetwork and pft.com for me if I am looking for accurate reporting. And of course this blog too cuz Jerry knows his sh!t, even if he does look kinda like Larry Flynt.

First of all I didn’t call Kiffin an idiot. I said if he starts Mcclown on Sunday he is an idiot. Honestly though I think he has done a fantastic job with the team thus far, except for the QB issue. He seems to have to much of a college coach mindset still. He believes that just because Josh comes in early and studies the play book religiously it will make him the better QB. This logic may work in college but in the NFL a QB with more raw talent and a moderate understanding of the offense will go further than a no talent genius that knows every play. Just my two cents, you don’t have to like it. Go raiders!

Raider fans,I think that we are definitely going in the right direction.Coach Kiffin has learned alot from Pete Corroll. There’s a method too his madness and we are going to benefit from that madness.Hell,we’ve already benefited.I love this guy,he keeps the media guessing because with Coach Kiffin, everything is “In House” and our players definitely respect that.Look at what Coach Kiffin has done for our offense in just 3 games as opposed to our offense last year in 16 games.Once, our defense comes together,we’re not going to be taken lightly anymore from anyone around the league. As this season progresses, our enemies will change their tune towards our RAIDERS just wait and see. “I’m always and forever in.”

San Clemente Kid here,
Kiffin announced DC as the starter before getting on the bus says another article…. Bout time. Here is what he will do for our team:
1-less sacks- he knows when to get rid of the ball
2-can hit outside routes
3- can throw the long ball accurately
4- can manage a clock
5- has confidence
6- NFL experience
7- will hit the receivers in the #’s
8- can recognize defenses and audible
9- wont look scared
10- will command the offense like a qb should
With those factors versus what Mckown brought to the game, we can start to steam roll our opponents……the question comes with the game plan —we need a balanced run/pass game… both of which compliment each other.
Now the defense needs to improve….i would like to see some blitzing… not only does it make the other team work harder, it makes the defensive secondary only have to cover a short distance, since the qb wont have all day to sit back and pick us apart….. also it gets our guys fired up… nothing says “we are here to win and kick your ass” like a sack of the other qb… dont you agree?

How does it feel Raider nation now that you don’t have Randy Moss to kick around? Can you say, “egg on your face”? One of the worst trades in the history of sports. Moss for a fourth round pick?! Hahahahahahahahhaha!!!!!
