Culpepper’s quad acts up
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, November 29th, 2007 at 5:21 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Daunte Culpepper took it easy during practice Thursday with a mysterious right quadriceps injury which will only serve to fuel speculation about the role of JaMarcus Russell this weekend against the Denver Broncos.
“He did some stuff today, we’ll see what he can do tomorrow,” Kiffin said of Culpepper.
In Culpepper’s absence, both Josh McCown and Russell took reps with the first team.
So now what?
ESPN reported a few weeks back Russell would be the starting quarterback on Dec. 2. Kiffin refuted that report, eventually going on record that Russell’s performance most likely be as a reserve for a few series with a scripted number of plays.
He said the first clue for a Russell sighting on Sunday would be when he is the backup.
So we have a few different scenarios and theories at work.
A) The Culpepper injury is a ruse, and and the Dec. 2 report was right all along. A few weeks ago, a secret high-level meeting (Al Davis and Kiffin) was held and it was determined the rookie would start against the Broncos.
B) Assuming Kiffin is on the up-and-up about Russell playing first as a reserve, the chances of seeing the No. 1 pick Sunday have taken a hit. With Culpepper hurting, Kiffin will have to play it safe and make McCown the backup because if Culpepper starts and finds he can’t finish, Russell would be exposed to situations Kiffin wants to avoid.
(Note: After I left the locker room, SFGate.com reported McCown appeared in the locker room with his left hand wrapped in ice after dislocating two joints in hi left pinkie during practice Wednesday _ an injury which wasn’t mentioned by Kiffin).
C) Culpepper is going to be fine, Russell will be the backup and see his first action of the season at some point on Sunday.
Right now, I’d lean toward “C.”
“A” is eliminated because I think Culpepper has too much pride to be a prop for the rookie’s debut. If Culpepper had issued “no comments” on Wednesday, maybe it is worth talking about.
But Culpepper, who left the locker room at one point, promised to return and answer a few questions and made good on his word.
“It was just sore yesterday,” Culpepper said. “Last night when I cooled off it really got sore. I woke up this morning . . . tried to ice it last night and it was sore. I kind of cut back on my reps today because I didn’t want to make it any worse than it is.”
A mass of bruises after any game, Culpepper assumes he was injured against the Chiefs, although the line kept him fairly clean all day, with two sacks.
“I think it was a hit I took in the game maybe,” Culpepper said. “I’m a guy who always has aches and pains but I never really make a big deal if I still can go. I think after running around yesterday and doing my conditioning it gradually got a little worse. I’m being cautious and don’t want to aggravate it any more.”
If Culpepper is back to full reps Thursday, “B” doesn’t even come into play. If not, Russell could end up being the starter by default assuming a left-pinky injury could keep McCown out of the game.
Kiffin played his “too many variables” card _ one of his favorite answers concerning potential situations _ when asked about the potential quarterback rotation in the event Culpepper can’t play.
“I don’t anticipate him being out but if he was then we’ll figure it out (by Sunday),” Kiffin said.
There is another possibility. If Culpepper starts and plays well in a tight game, Russell could stay on the sidelines even if he is the backup because Kiffin will be reluctant to swing a game in the wrong direction because he inserted the rookie at the wrong time.
Arkansas redux
Thursday’s round of Arkansas questions:
Q: Can you respond to the Arkansas rumors? Is there any interest your part?
Kiffin: I covered that yesterday. I don’t know anything about that and we’ll get ready for Denver.
Q: How do you keep it from becoming a distraction?
Kiffin: We don’t even talk about it. It’s stuff for you guys to write about it.”
Q: Just to be clear, you have no interest in the Arkansas job?
Kiffin: Yeah.
That last question is what is known in the business as the “IK,” or “Interview killer.”
As he did Wednesday, Arkansas questions caused Kiffin to issue a quick, “OK?” as he backed out of the group and trotted off to the locker room. End of interview session.
ESPN continues to report on its rumor site, with no on-the-record sources, that Kiffin is interested in the Arkansas job, but that getting freed from his contract could be a problem.
You think?
Following the 2003, Davis wouldn’t let assistant Jay Norvell out of a contract to join Bill Callahan at Nebraska. Callahan waited it out, and when Norv Turner was OK with not having Norvell on staff, he was allowed to leave.
But make no mistake, if Davis wants to make it difficult for Kiffin to leave, he can, even though the pro-to-college jump has some gray areas that don’t exist with a move to another NFL team.
He can certainly make it difficult enough for a long enough time that Arkansas will move on to another target. With a new A.D. and no coach, Arkansas needs a coach in place soon or they’ll soon find themselves at the bottom in the SEC recruiting.
With Kiffin apparently having no interest in making a more emphatic statement regarding this alleged “candidacy,” expect the speculation to continue until Arkansas begins making candidates public and the actually hires a coach.
News, notes, and observations:
– The Raiders declared the Broncos game a sellout, meaning there is no blackout and the game will be televised locally.
– Derrick Burgess, who missed practice with a sore Achilles Wednesday, was listed as having fully participated Thursday.
– The Raiders have not brought in a new player to replaced Jarrod Cooper, who underwent ACL surgery and is out for the season. When they do, Cooper will be put on injured reserve.
– With his 159-yard effort against Denver in the first meeting, LaMont Jordan could get the nod over Dominic Rhodes as the backup for Justin Fargas for the second straight week.
– Russell stayed as vague as possible regarding his involvement with the first team offense in Culpepper’s absence.
“I’m not sure, man, not sure,” Russell said when asked how many snaps he took.

Please don’t be scenario “B”…
Born IN!
November 29th, 2007 at 5:38 pm
JMac,
Thanks for the update. What about the report that McClown has injured his hand?
If that’s the case, then Scenario D has Andrew Walter in the mix in a variety of scenarios. This by far could be Kiffin’s best performance this year of: “We’ll know more on Sunday” gameplanning. And why not? This game against Denver is huge for us.
I could really see Al Davis pushing the situation, and Kiffin really playing mind games with Shanarat. All is fair when Oakland plays Denver!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 5:38 pm
Regarding Simeon Rice…Its very possible that the Raiders have never taken a look at him because Lane Kiffin probably talked to his father to find out why the Bucs let him go. If the reason was good enough…that could have been good enough to keep Lane from getting interested altogether. Monte would have the inside scoop on the guy.
Charles Woodson - He’s not playing tonight against the Cowboys. I am so pissed. I haven’t had an opportunity to watch the guy play all year and the one game I get the chance for it…hes out with an injury. Figures.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
You know…I doubt it will happen but maybe Andrew Walter gets the start? I’d rather see him than McCown.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:41 pm
God I hope we blow out the Broncos, not only, well because I hate the Broncos, and um, a blowout would be nice, but it’s about time JRuss gets a few snaps already.
I hope we go New England Patriots on them at the end, with Fargas going for 180+ and Porter/Curry having big games as well.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:41 pm
HAHAHAHA I AGREE WITH YOU LOS “T”
November 29th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
Hey S - thanks for that link to the JRod show. It really seems that he has a lot more mobility than he is given credit for. granted those were all highlights, still, he looked pretty good out of the pocket.
In the event he is the backup this week, I’m sure he’ll play some. But I bet Kiff will make Walter the back up once again, making Russell the #3. Which still gives him a chance to see action in the 4th. Though if it’s a close game, he probably won’t. And since we are playing against Denver, it will be a close one, like always. But we covered all this last week. We thought he’d be #2 then, and ended up being #3, and thought he might show up for a couple plays, but because it was a close game, Kiff went for the win instead of the future. I would’ve done the same thing. I expect the same scenario this week. We might not see JRod after all…though I wish we do, I really do.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
I love the Raiders…”A few weeks ago, a secret high-level meeting (Al Davis and Kiffin) was held and it was determined the rookie would start against the Broncos”
Where did you get this info, Jerry? Was it from ESPN?
OMG, could you all imagine if Russell is named the last minute starter? The crowd would go crazy!!! Russel starting, with DC as the backup, and Walter the emergency QB.
This would address 3 things:
1. If Davis really wants to see Russell play, well there you go
2. Kiffin has said he wanted Russell to be ready to start when he finally debuted.
3. Shanarat would have to game plan for practically all 4 QBs this week!!
Incredible…I’m officially holding my breath………..
November 29th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
– “Russell stayed as vague as possible regarding his involvement with the first team offense in Culpepper’s absence.”
Does this mean he took ALL first team snaps?? If, so let the dynasty begin!!!
And we have a sellout!!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
We have talked about the possibility of drafting McFadden and most of us have agreed that the tandem of Fargas and Bush “should” be pretty good. HOWEVER…Fargas is a free agent next year I believe and what kind of contract could be agreed upon between the 2 parties? Another issue is the “true” health of Michael Bush. Theres just no guarentee that he can ever be the same player on top of the uncertainty that he may not be a good RB in the NFL. Heres a possibility to solve this problem. We sign Michael Turner from the Chargers. He’s been a stud backup to LT and has been great when he had a chance to start. Since most have agreed not to draft McFadden…we could sign Turner and draft a defensive lineman in the draft. My only concern regard him…is he looks like another Lamont Jordan possibility. Hes been a backup for 4 years under a great RB. Hes 5′10 and 237 lbs so hes similiar in size. Now…wouldn’t it be awesome if this guy turns out to be great and we can watch him punish the Chargers 2 times a year?

Kiffin’s cutesy Arkansas responses indicate, he’s either immature, inexperienced, interested
November 29th, 2007 at 5:54 pm
The Broncos are going down like a stripper at Cheetah’s in Vegas.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
somE one iS trying to Piss off the Nation
November 29th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
Who cares what response Kiffin had? Honestly. It really doesn’t matter what response he has because everyone will find some fault in what he said. Its a no win and thats why Kiffin just brushes it off. If he says hes not interested…everyone will think hes Saban and hes a liar. If he says hes interested…obviously we have another problem. If he doesn’t want to answer…everyone says the speculation will continue. Until Kiffin is dressed in an Arkansas polo…I wouldn’t worry about it. Of course…it would be funny if Kiffin actually showed up in an Arkansas polo just to with the media. I don’t think Al Davis would be too happy about that however.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
He was asked straight up if he had no interest on the job, and he replied “Yeah”.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:57 pm
God Bless America…The Cowboys Cheerleaders are off the hook. I’ve seen the Raiders play against Dallas in Irving, TX so I got an up close shot. Very nice.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
Now that would be freaking hilarious!…lol can you picture seeing him on the sidelines with a AK polo? hahaha….. that would be so funny. And if he had his assistants all wear them too…… maybe even have JRod wear a hat while he’s sitting on the bench spitting out sunflower seeds…..LOL….. too funny.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:59 pm
Hey JOE - i think i know who you arE talking about Specially since you Put it so bluNtly….. very nice.
November 29th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Also…You can’t take what anybody says to the media with full truth. Its like Kiffin saying that Al Davis leaves Kiffin alone during the season. Honestly. What would you expect him to say? Oh yeah…He’s always up in my business, constantly asking me questions, telling me to do this..telling me to do that? I’m not saying he does that but you know as well as I do that they converse and very often I bet. AD loves to talk football and he wants to know whats going on if nothing but for the pleasure of knowing. He wants to be involved as much as any of us want to so I’m sure he doesn’t leave Kiffin alone. If I was the owner, I’d want to see everything and know everything…I may not make changes or take away any decisions made but I think I’d have a hard time dealing with a decision I did not agree with. If I wanted Lamont Jordan to start and I saw Fargas…I’d be questioning why…not because its unreasonable but because I’m curious as hell and I want to know why the person I’m paying soo much money to isn’t on the field. Once the question was answered with something that made sense…it would be easy to work with that. I’m sure its hard to be an owner and let the Coach do his thing without any of your say. It would make me go insane.
November 29th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
Hey, I just thought of how Ricky Williams return was shot after 6 plays…man that sucks. Poor guy, I bet he’s sitting at home bong in hand thinking about how he should’ve just stayed retired. I wonder if he’ll be back next year…
November 29th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
The contract speculation brings no new validity to the Ark rumors. What you have is a guy hearing the rumor and saying “Wat about Lane’s contract?” That’s what happened on this blog last night. Are we one of ESP’s sources? It doesn’t mean anything.
If JR is #2 then he could see action early rather than the 4th quarter. Given that no game other than Miami has been over by the 4th quarter this year, don’t expect it not to be close on Sunday.
Jerry - WALTER IS THE KEY! If CP and JM are banged up to the point they can’t go, AW would be getting reps like he did two weeks ago. Obviously Kiffin thinks it will be JR as #1 or #2.
November 29th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
1980Raider - After everything he went through to get back into the NFL…I really believe he will be back. Maybe not with the Dolphins because of Ronnie Brown but I think he’ll be in the NFL.
November 29th, 2007 at 6:16 pm
Do you think the Pats can give Ricky Williams a chance?
November 29th, 2007 at 6:17 pm
Maybe the donks…
November 29th, 2007 at 6:18 pm
Allright boys, I’ll let it go for tonite. Go Raiders!!!!!!!1
November 29th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
I can see Ricky going to the donks… they already are calling for him in Denver, didn’t they put up a sign or something? saying something like it is legal to hold up to an ounce of weed in Denver?
November 29th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
I don’t see Kiffin going anywhere, he’s shown us too much promise imo to walk away. I hope he’s here for a long loooong time. He seems to see the big picture, and I for one think as with all espn articles, this whole thing is getting overblown. Now on to the denver game…It will be close, and barring injury, I don’t anticipate seeing Russell in this game. We’re a season and speed threat wr away from being explosive enough to put teams away early, so I anticipate a tight contest and am hopeful for a W. We really need to control the run and that damn denver bootleg stretch play, and we should be fine.
November 29th, 2007 at 6:45 pm
Kiff needs to be more emphatic on the Arkansas rumor for it to die, which it really needs to.
Frankly, it just smells funny…

Next year we should keep Walters and Russell and drop dullpeper & mclown. Win lose or tie RAIDER NATION till I die!

Hey, making fun because of typos and spelling errors is not allowed…or so I was told earlier today.
Or is there a double standard for Sheep like RayGuy? Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
This wasn’t a simple, run-of-the-mill typo; three times he misspelled the name of his supposed favorite writer, so I finally called him on it.
Your continuted ’sheep’ references only make you look juvenile, by the way. I don’t know if you think it’s funny or if it bothers people, but in fact it accomplishes neither.

I’m with Los “T”, Raider Raul, and Huff 24, I cannot stand the idea of seeing McCown again. If DC can’t go and JR isn’t ready, the let’s see what Andrew Walter can do. He’s the only QB besides Russell that is still under contract after this season. To judge him based on last years performance in the bed and breakfast offense is just wrong, and totally unfair. I hope C-Pep gets the start and the Raiders build a big enough lead to get JaMarcus some extended playing time. I’M IN, always have been, and Always will be.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
Tony Romo..
”Antonio Ramiro Romo is a third-generation Mexican American on his father’s side. His grandfather, Ramiro Romo Sr., emigrated from Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to San Antonio, Texas as an adolescent. The elder Romo cites Tony’s success as an example of the possibilities afforded to immigrants in the United States: “I’ve always said this is a country of opportunities. If you don’t get a job or an education, it’s because you don’t want to.”
November 29th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Tony Romo - Wikipedia.com (I had to find out)

Tom Flores - Oops. Sorry. Just trying to be like you…one of the greatest coaches ever.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
zzzzzzzzzzz - When I thought of Romo in the past. His name had Italian written all over it so I don’t blame you for thinking that. The Polish-German descent obviously gives him the lighter skin color and he also looks spanish. Tony AND Romo sound Italian. No doubt.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:55 pm
Gentlemen, forget about signing McFadden after all the money we gave to Ruseell. Trade down and get more picks or get a run-stopper then offensive linemen. Kiffin will deal with rumors of leaving for years to come. The question will be on defense: Is Ryan calling the right plays with bad talent or does he always have to adjust each week because the gameplan he came up with during the week is being nullified in the first quarter due to being outcoached after kickoff? It would be nice to play Russell this Sunday. X-MAS would come early. The bullsh** snow game that started the Patriot dynasty - maybe we’ll be the team in a few years that ends their dynasty. It would only be due justice. Hang in there all Raider fans !!!
November 29th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
Also…to clarify. Mexicans are made up of Spanish and Indian so you will often see very light colored Mexicans because of the Spanish and very dark Mexicans because of the Indian descent. My girlfriend is mexican and some people confuse her for being white sometimes.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
While watching the game tonight, one of the commentators mentioned that the Packers rush for and were struggling because of the loss of KGB in tonights game. Looking at it…that defense is playing the same style that the Raiders play. They are getting picked on like the Raiders as well. Our defense just lacks imagination. Sounds like the Packers do too but their offense is led by Favre, so it offsets what teams do against their defense. Teams are forced to pass on the Packers instead of run because Favre can put points on the board which forces teams to pass in order to catch up.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
We hardly ever blitz. This was okay back in the day when we had the biggest, strongest, baddest front four in football, but in today’s NFL a four man pash rush just doesn’t cut it.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:11 pm
The Nation should never have to endure watching JMcCown at QB again. The thought is unbearable. Fortunately, I don’t think its gonna happen. Business as usual.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:19 pm
Rodgers is watching Favre and our man Russell is watching C-Pep/McCown. There lies the problem. Rodgers will be able to step in and produce right away since he has sat so long watching a Hall of Famer. The Raiders do not have that luxury like most teams quarterbacks are rushed because of huge contracts AND the person ahead of them not being much better. However, the anticipation of Russell is driving me crazy like most Raider fans. Just imagine if Russell started from here on out and we went undefeated for the month of December. Wouldn’t that be something.

Damn good read on Kiffins Q&A. Why do I have this shy confident feeling that our coach is better than Shanarat? I’m nervously axious to see how this team performs come Sunday.
Hopefully these rumors have not distracted the players like they were intended to do. Sabortage.

The Raiders and AL Davis are synonymous. Bashing Al Davis is like telling your dearly loved wife ,I wish your father was never born. Or equate this : The Raiders + AL Davis = A fine woman+3 kids. Taken it or leave it.
AL Davis supporters: So We are not accused of picking up AL Davis droppings or accused of taking in the flatulence of Mr. AL Davis for pleasure, Express some Aversions towards AL Davis. I thinks this can be very theraputic for the AL Davis haters out there. Come on… I’ll start.
Things I hate about AL Davis: I hate that Marcus Allen was benched toward the end of his tenure with the Raiders
I hate that Al Davis didn’t win all 41 SUPERBOWLS; Including the ones when he wasn’t the owner.
I having a feeling the AL Davis Bashers may even get in on this one.
Raiders be with you and Al davis too.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:29 pm
Maybe Kiffin should show up at his next press conference, break out his best Bubba voice, wag his finger at the cameras, and say,
“I did not. Have. Contractual. Negotiations. With that program. The Arkansas Razorbacks.”
Then everybody’d let it drop.
Aaron Rodgers is playing his ass off right now for Brett. Too bad he can’t suit up against Stanford Saturday.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
Thats what I’m talking about Jim. I want the best. Bring on the Patsies. I know were not ready YET but I’m just anxious to take them down.
re: the draft - I think that would be the wisest thing to do (depending on who’s available), but its also the hardest. The higher you draft the harder it is to trade it away.
I’ve viewed many mock drafts (yes, even this early but April is right around the corner believe it or not) and there are 4 players that consistently come up depending on the draft spot: Long(de), McFadden (rb), Jackson (wr), Campbell (de). All except Jackson are consistently listed in the Top 10 picks. If we don’t pick Jackson, many have him falling to after pick 15 or so. Smartest thing to do is trade down if they want Jackson to give JRussell a deep weapon.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
Lane Kiffin is the new head football coach at Arkansas. This is indeed a dark day for Raider Nation. The Kiffin era is over. It is obviously a tremendous loss that will be felt for decades to come. Don’t dismay Raider Nation, we still have the memories. Remember when Lane pulled the wool over the entire NFL’s eyes and refused to name a starting quarterback going into the season Remember what intestinal fortitude Lane displayed when he stuck to his guns and insisted on trotting out Mcnown as his starter. That took moxy. And who could forget the pizza party. Lane we hardly knew you. You will be missed. Just Win Baby.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:41 pm
Al Davis has done more for football than just about anyone alive. In truth he just might be a difficult man to work for. That does not make him a bad man. Imagine if Bo Jackson never got hurt. Even McCown/C-Pep would look good in that offense muck like Jay Schroeder . OOPS.We gave up Jim Lachey for Jay Schroeder. Nobody’s perfect . Al needs to go out on top. Start Russell - just make it look like Kiffin’s decision. Good night. If Packers win with Rodgers look out. Raiders over Broncos on Sunday.

how is this game televised? im in southern california. CBS 2 is gonan cover some other dumb game. i HAVE to see this game. thanks

November 29th, 2007 at 9:02 pm
A dark day for the NFL when many fans can not see this game tonight. I save trips to the bar for Raider games. Janikowski comes up big on Sunday. I need to see him make some kicks when the game is on the line unlike the Cowboy/Packer game tonight which is online.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
We definitely need a deep weapon Terrapin but do not give up on Higgins just yet. We need to play Higgins more the last five games. Playing Tim Dwight will not improve us for the future but a good third receiver to have around next year in case anyone gets hurt. If we win a few more game it will be easier to trade down. Remember the Cowboys when Jimmy J

I guess I have been drinking too much wine tonight. I just double-posted. I’ll try not to double -post again. I am on the East Coast so I am a few drinks ahead of everybody. Raiders on Sunday. Maybe they will get a Monday night game next year.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
I’m patient w/ JLH. Some WRs take time to develop. But I don’t expect greatness there - maybe a #3 WR at this level (#2 max if he approves leaps and bounds) - but I don’t see a #1.
His PR/KR ability was a deciding factor in drafting him but he’s been failing at that recently.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
Good job Raider Nation on the sellout
November 29th, 2007 at 9:51 pm
RayGuy,
Its funny to me, and that is all that counts.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:59 pm
We need to get after Cutler. If Russell is not going to play let’s see Walter. He took a pounding last year and deserves a look in the new offense if Russell is not going to play and Culpepper is hurt. I want wins against Denver and San Diego to give us a step in the right direction.
November 29th, 2007 at 10:18 pm
RayGuy8 and Dakota,
You both have my respect as posters.
I will take the blame for the issue of spelling errors. Dakota is just trying to repeat what I said earlier to him today regarding Dakota teasing 2romes about his spelling errors.
RayGuy8 you replied also.
My point is and You can take it or leave it, I like you both as Raider fans(except when dakota is on Al case) I just believe we make typos and all who post do.
I believe what Rayguy8 was trying to point out about KK was he couldn’t spell a favorite writer last name, and was being corrected.
Why all this crap, I believe we do no service to raider fans who come to this blog and we act like english teachers, some people will stay away.
Let’s try not to be so judgemental.
You are raider fans and I like to read your post and takes.
Take care.

Hey folks what gives with the Cowboys/Packers game, they’re not showing it Down Under, they showed all the Thanksgiving games last week…..Is it not being televised nationally in the US?
November 29th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Aussie,
Only sattelite t.v. carried the game on the NFL Network!!
I only saw the last quarter!!!
I had to work!
November 29th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Aussie Raider
It was shown on the NFL network & not on CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX or ESPN. There’s a big legal battle going on right now about the cable companies not carrying the NFL Network. There’s another Thursday night game next week on the NFL network. Don’t remember who playing though. The Cowboys won this evening 37-27, I believe. Farve got knocked out of the game at the end of the first quarter. I believe it was a bruised elbow on the throwing arm. Rodgers replaced Farve and actually did a good job in there. He’ll be a good QB in the future. He’s from Cal (Berkeley).
November 29th, 2007 at 10:44 pm
Unfortunately Walter has about a the same chance Rhodes has at playing Sunday. For the life of me I don’t understand why Lane still has Mcnown on this roster!! I thought we would try to improve at our weak areas such as our RUN DEFENSE which is like a Sieve!! Why haven’t we attempted to bring in DT’s and Safeties to bolster our pathetic D??!! But we have 4QB’S which no other team in the LEAGUE HAS MORE THAN 3!! IT’ DOESN’T SEEM TO ME THAT WE ARE COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE WITH PLAYERS WE ALL KNOW WOULD’NT BE WITHIN EARSHOT OF MIAMI’S ROSTER!!! C’MON KIFF YOU CAN SEE YOUR BUDDIES AT THE CLUB OR PASSING BY SO YOU SHOULD BE UPGRADING THIS ROSTER AT THIS TIME FOR WE BARELY IN THE RUNNING FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT AND WITH OUR GLARING WEAKNESS AT THE POSITIONS STATED EARLIER BRING IN PLAYERS THAT CAN PLAY, NOT HOLD CONVERSATIONS ON THE SIDELINES!! JUST WIN BABY !!!
November 29th, 2007 at 10:45 pm
Well,
I guess it will be the Patsies VS Cowboys in the Super Bowl!!
Woooopieeee!!!
I dont know which team I HATE more!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 10:49 pm
Too bad we couldn’t trade for Rodgers as rumoured….
Luckily I can watch all Raider games over the net then, regardless of it being a sellout. About the only benefit living outside the US.
I think JB that is the Washington/Chicago on Thursday, not long after Sean’s funneral, unless they are moving the game due to the funeral…..
November 29th, 2007 at 10:50 pm
Aussie,
Where can you go on the internet to watch NFL games??
November 29th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
I think you are right about Washington/Chicago. The game will NOT be changed because of the funeral. I believe the last time the changed the schedule was on 9-11 which is totally understandable.
November 29th, 2007 at 10:59 pm
Glory it’s only available if you are outside North America and the UK.
It’s NFL gamepass run though Yahoo. It cost me $240 USD and I get to watch all games during the regular season, and they archive the games for 48 hrs after the game is played so hence I get to watch all Raider games. Only thing is Sydney is 19hrs ahead at the moment so by the time the games starts on the West Coast it’s Monday morning, 8am.
Beggers can’t be chooser’s I suppose
Cabkle TV in Australia show what ever Fox and ESPN show and they are not showing any Raider games this season. Thank Christ for the internet.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:00 pm
nah glory GB will be back just like Indy will for NE. Farve got off to a bad start but how about Chico’s own Aaron Rogers debut? The Niners where stupid to take Smith over him. It also shows how letting a rookie QB sit for a bit and learn can payoff.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:01 pm
Cool man,
Good for you!!
A Raider fan in Australia,
Nice!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
IDIB,
Man, i hope your’e right dude!!
I cant stand any of those two teams!
I can honestly tell you…….I will be rooting against both of those teams in the playoffs!!
Anybody but the Patsies or the Cowgirls!!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:05 pm
How can you not be mystified by Raider Football no matter where in the world you live hey Glory.
I tell you what though I love Monday mornings watching the Raiders play no matter what time they’re playing, I wish the NFL season would never end!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:06 pm
rodmoney-where is he going to get all these new stars this late in the year?think
November 29th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
You got that right Aussie.
I thought the majority of Australians were into Australian rules football or Soccer??
I saw your’e world cup team in the last world cup!! Your team was very gritty!!
I thought you guy’s got a raw deal at the end!!
I think it was vs. Italy!!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
As much as I hate Dallas, I hate NE more and am just waiting for someone to hurt Moss. But if both of those teams make it I won’t even bother watching. Great day to snowboard (if there is snow)
November 29th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
IDIB,
You are so right!!
It will be the first Super Bowl in 25yrs….That I will avoid!!
Both teams turn me off!!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
Yeah we are predominately Rugby/Football/Cricket fans are but we love all sports. Not many Aussies understand NFL, their loss I say.
Although NFL is coming more into the limelight with the Aussie punters now playing.
Aussies rules is using the NFL as their retirement fund now, so you will see more Aussie Rules Footballers coming over to the US as punters.
Yes it was Italy.
Jealous of all those fans going to game though on Sunday, at least I got to watch Raiders when I was over in 04, will never foget that experience.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:21 pm
whats up brothers of the nation!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:23 pm
STR,
I”ll respond to you, How goes it, your still up.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
Aussie,
I think your Rugby players would be AWESOME football players if they tried playing American football. Those guys are really tough!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 11:26 pm
yeah that punter for the chargers, played footy, he was a monster. can’t remember his name.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:27 pm
STR,
Whats going on brother???
November 29th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
A few days back we were posting on what teams down the sttretch we could beat. Everyone posted almost the same teams. I posted and said I really like our chances against Green Bay.
With the injury to Favre,I know he will probably play, but how effective will he be, also they can’t play the run well.
I’m wondering if Woodson will play knowing its a home coming game for him.
I think the packers can be beat with a good balanced attack, and a solid passing game.
I like our chances better after tonight game.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
Darren Bennett was his name IDIB. I recall he once creamed a punter returning one of his kicks.
Nah our Rugby players are too slow to play in the NFL, otherwise they would be playing NFL.
The cap for our football teams are $4.5m with a 25 man roster. Our players are built for endurance whereas the NFL is speed. I think the only position a Rugby player would be suited for is TE, we had one guy try out for the Jets this year but he didn’t make it.
Rugby players typically dont weigh more than 240 lbs, most are between range from 175 to 220 lbs.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
I dunno Rodgers looked pretty comfortable back there. The only time Dallas got to him is with blitz… (which we don’t do)
November 29th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
I dress in Black,
there is no pressure in that situation to succeed. He looked very relaxed out there.
I believe it is different when you know your playing and preparing.
your mistakes can cause your team to lose the game.

“Josh McCown dislocated his left pinky in practice this week, and the bone popped through the skin. He had the injury stitched up, and he practiced on Thursday. The injury was suffered playing catch with quarterback Andrew Walter.”
we might want to thank walter for taking out mccown with his hard throws.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:05 am
yup, its about to be one over here down yonder. got a short day tomorrow.
flying down home for the weekend to watch the game with my nephew…..(LMAO) a donkey fan.
i expect a victory!
first last weekend against my bros team (chefs) and now my nephews………perfect.
back-to-back division wins will be sweeeeet!
November 30th, 2007 at 12:14 am
Mark Ibanez of the KTVU Channel 2 News in Oakland, CA just reported that JaMarcus has been elevated to number 2 on the qb Depth chart! The future is almost upon us Nation!
What up Raider Dell, STR and other Nation brothers…
Raiders for Life…I’m In!
November 30th, 2007 at 12:19 am
Jamarcus will play this weekend.
I feel a tremor in The Force.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:21 am
After scouring the internet to corraborate Ibanez’s story I have yet to find anything. Man I hope Ibanez wasn’t talking out of his a$$! His very words were “With Josh McCown out with a hand injury JaMarcus Russel has been elevated to number 2 on the Raider’s QB depth chart. There’s a good chance he will see some playing time against the Bronco’s at home.”
Has anyone else heard anything?
Raiders for Life…I’m In!
November 30th, 2007 at 12:25 am
If this does’nt show us that Mc is a living injury since birth I will keep him nonetheless just as Lane will. If you can’t catch a LOB PASS from an inactive qb then why are you on my ROSTER!!? Matter of fact can any of you RAIDER DELL, RF,DOGG, ELWAY’S TEETH anyone please explain to me why we haven’t got rid of this INJURED RESERVE and picked up a DT or Safety to bolster our inept run D?!!!
November 30th, 2007 at 12:31 am
McCown will be on IR by Tuesday. Just pray that CPep’s injury doesn’t get worse, then Kiffin would have no choice but to keep McCown around. On a side note it looks like we’ll get a chance to see Luke McCown, Josh’s brother. He’s starting for the Bucs and it will be interesting to see how much better he is than Josh.
Raiders for Life…I’m In!
November 30th, 2007 at 12:35 am
RF & Raiderdogg,
Thanks for the scoop! Should I now be hoping that Dante gets hurt? My Raider-sense tells me no, but the advent of JaMarcus being 2nd string is a major development in Raider world! The promotion makes it VERY unlikely that he will ever go back to being the 3rd stringer. And if that is the case, we should cut McClown immediately, and get Andrew back in uniform at the emergency QB.
———————-
That McClown is such an idiot. I hope STU is next to play catch with Andrew
Here’s an excerpt from another blog that details the Walter/McClown incident (it’s pretty funny):
“McCown isn’t listed on the injury report because his injury was fixed on site. He dislocated two joints in his left (non-throwing) pinky finger yesterday catching a pass from Andrew Walter. Medical staff put the bones back in place and stitched up McCown’s hand. He showered with the bag on to not get the stitches wet.
Kiffin gave no indication as to whether Russell would be his No. 2 quarterback this weekend, which would mean he could play against Denver. McCown said Walter’s pass was a simple lob that Walter sarcastically said was the best pass he’d ever thrown. When it was jokingly mentioned that it was all part of Walter’s plan to injure every quarterback on the roster McCown figured as much. His joke was Walter would throw his next pass off Culpepper’s leg, have it hit McCown in the finger and bounce into Russell’s eye.”
November 30th, 2007 at 12:35 am
Lefty,
You can’t tell me there is not one player, I did not say stars that will be an upgrade from what we have at DT and Safety. Of course we will make some moves in the Draft and FA but I find it hard to believe that there is not one player that can improve our run D and tackle better at the Safety(FREE) position.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:37 am
Maybe when they see a Free Agent Player that Al and Kiffin feel can help us……then it will be bye bye McCown? There just aren’t many players out there rby this time of the year. I still have a real tough time believing that AW isn’t a better option. If we’re keeping him as trade bait, then play him. If he never plays again, we’d be lucky to get a 4th round pick for him.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:48 am
Teeth,
Do yu think we can get Bing or Darius to give us someone who can at least tackle for Stu can’t do either!! If anything Bing can play on ST. Although he will never cut his pal Lane should cut Mc and sign Jonathan Sullivan or a DT that may help our run D which you know is WTF. If anything it can add depth. Our offense is win games if given a chance so we should get the D together to stop those 5 yds a carry by rookie and backup rb’s.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:50 am
RaiderDogg,
I hope you are right on with that blog. It could only be better if it stated Mc was released with Stu.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:55 am
We’ve seen Bing and Darius…I wasn’t too impressed. Kiffin saw them every day in practice, they must not have impressed him or Ryan. I’m sure not saying I like Stu (as a football player only, I think in real life Schwiegert is a class guy) either, but you saw how quickly Darius was gone after playing against the Raiders, he’s not the answer. There’s a whole buch going on that I don’t get: 4 QBs, $ RBs???
November 30th, 2007 at 1:28 am
I believe it was something personal as to y Bing was released. I see that Q. Moses got .5 sack the other day which is 1.5 more sacks than the DE that was supposed to outplay him. I’m just saying that players look good in practice or preseason(Higgins) then get in the big time and fols up. I don’t believe Bing even had a fair chance with us, hell he was gone before the preseason started. I believe he would have improved as the season progressed for he did miss all of last season. Just like Higgins is still on the team dispite fumbling every other punt and avg less tah than 3 ypr!!! And I won’t mention that tender hand of a qb we have for only God knows.
November 30th, 2007 at 6:24 am
Rodmoney….Moses got cut because Clemmons is a tougher guy and works harder. WOW…Moses has 1.5 sacks…Clemmons has 6 sacks and leads the team. You don’t need more than two light speed rushers. And we have our two, Burgess and Clemmons! Richardson was kept because he’s more of an all around guy than Moses, who is a specialist.
Why moan about a lousy 1.5 sacks when we have a guy who has 6 who beat him out????
November 30th, 2007 at 8:04 am
Would should coulda again. Trust them that they saw something they didn’t like and booted him out! I hate it as much as anything, but trying to make something out of a nothing player doesn’t work very often.
November 30th, 2007 at 8:13 am
Please Nation, I never want to hear the names Quentin Moses or Darnell Bing on this mesage board again. Raiders blew it when we took Moses in the third, it happens all the time to every team. They decided to go with Clemons and he has 6 sacks to show for it. Moses got cut from Arizona and no wplays for the worst team in the league. Who care, its old news. As for Bing…the dude isn’t even in the NFL, give it up. Move on Nation.

From Bill Simmons on ESPN:
RAIDERS (+3.5) over Broncos
Congratulations to Luke in Ann Arbor for being the one-millionth reader to e-mail me the question, “Doesn’t Mike Shanahan know that he shouldn’t kick off to Devin Hester?” last Sunday. In Mike’s defense, sometimes it’s hard to concentrate on coaching the team when you look like you’re passing out a kidney stone while getting circumcised at the same time.
—–
Simmons is kind of a hater sometimes, but that Shanny joke is funn.

yes! he should get the job anyways
November 30th, 2007 at 8:44 am
very well put jjvill, they are not on OUR team for a reason, so let it be.
November 30th, 2007 at 8:55 am
Don’t tease us Coach…ON his weakly radio show, Kiffin said there’s a good chance Russell will play this weekend. Said he will be a great player for us in the future. When asked about Daunte - Kiffin said he will know today whether or not he will play this weekend.
Imagine - Daunte can’t play, Mccown starts (and gets hurt, finger) in the first quarter and Russell plays the rest of the way.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:06 am
If anyone thinks were drafting anyone but lil Howie….you’re crazy.
Man, I sure wish Brett Farve had gotten his wish and traded us Aaron Rogers for Randy Moss…
November 30th, 2007 at 9:22 am
Ok Greatness,
I’m not talking about Clemmons, he is not a rookie as you should know. I was talking about ojr 5th rounder out of Ohio St. Yes, I’m thrilled with the play of Clem by the way. Remember we don’t know how long Burgess will play for he has been injured this yr nor do we know if he will resign with us. We need players to make plays and hey Q has made plays despite not being on the parent team for only a few weeks. I’m just saying we should have given Q and Bing a fair shake on making plays for the RAIDERS!! Look a what Higg is doing: the lowest avg in the league when he does hang on to the ball!! You have to give players a chance to gel and get comfortable especially if you invest such a high pick in them. You can’t tell me that Bing could Q. could not help our team more at this time than a pretzel fingered Mcnown?!! Comment on that fellas. Just Win Baby!!
November 30th, 2007 at 9:29 am
How about this little known fact pointed out by a fellow blogger?
“…at Arrowhead Stadium the first time they coached there while wearing Silver and Black. John Rauch, John Madden, Tom Flores, Art Shell, Mike White, Joe Bugel, Jon Gruden, Bill Callahan, and Norv Turner all lost in their initial Kansas City appearance. There has been only one real head coach for the Raiders who has won in their first try in Kansas City.
Al Davis, Municipal Stadium, November 8, 1963: 22 – 7 win.
This sentinel asterisk puts Coach Lane Kiffin in pretty heady company. ”
How about that? Good stuff Kiff.

November 30th, 2007 at 9:35 am
Al Davis, Gruden, and NOW Kiffin!!……WINNERS……VS. K.C…first game!!
November 30th, 2007 at 9:37 am
It would be cool for lil Howie to don the silver and black, unless we address the DT position we would be better off trading down to get the best DT available as well as a intimidating safety to bolster our pathetic line and secondary. Bring back the pain and fear teams once had for o the Nation’s team. Our O plays well enough that if we can get some players up front to STOP THE RUN we can win!! The Greatness of the Raiders!
November 30th, 2007 at 9:39 am
Rodmoney,
I was the biggest D. Bing fan out there. I Loved how the guy played at USC. But the fact of the matter is, he was just too SLOW. As bad as we think Schweigert is. Bing would have been worse!! Thats why the Raiders tried moving him to line backer, where he just did’nt cut it. AS far as Moses, that was just a bad pick. His play deteriorated after one great yr. Believe me, if these guys were any good, the would be starting the NFL right now!!
Thew bigger gripe should be, …..Why did we pick them in the 3rd round in the first place???
November 30th, 2007 at 9:41 am
Rodmoney,
Im with you there. I want Chris Long in Silver and Black!!!
Im already lobbying for him!!
Al/Kiffin………..Pick Chris Long in 08′.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:45 am
Koolkell says that it was Al Davis that injured culpeppers leg. Then he told walter to hurt mcclowns finger. He also injured burgess’s achilles. Because thats what al davis does. Right koolkell????
November 30th, 2007 at 9:47 am
Rod$$, Greatness:
A while back, I heard this story from a close friend who speaks directly to a respected Raider insider (hint: initials JK) regarding Quentin Moses. The story goes that in training camp, Moses was looking ultra-fast and impressive. Well, one day Al Davis pulled him aside to give him some hands-on instruction and advice regarding his technique, to which Quentin responded, “Sorry sir, I’m told to listen only to my DL coach (Millard), and pretty much blew-off Big Al. When final cuts came around, the entire coaching staff voted to keep Moses, but Al’s veto sent Moses packing. That is why the reports came out that Kiffin was disgruntled about the process.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:48 am
Oh man, I hoped yesterday on this blog for Favre to get a small injury that would keep him out a week and it happened. A separated shoulder and bruised elbow on his throwing arm, yeah, I’ll say he’ll miss a week. Hopefully….
November 30th, 2007 at 9:54 am
Aussie Raider…
Guus Hiddink is probably the caoch… all his teams made it through the qualifications…
On another matter, The Raiders could learn a bit from the donkeys… Their girls and uniforms is so much better than Dallas’ Maybe our gals is better to cheerlead’ i dont know but they all look old and fony. Denvers Cheerleaders is so natural, i know they just stand still, but man, they look great when stand still…. =)
November 30th, 2007 at 9:59 am
1980 sorry, but that injury was said to be minor and i read favre stated that it was something that can be shot up. no wonder this guy has so many starts, for half his career now he’s been pilled up before, during and after games just to make it.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:02 am
your right raide glory, what a bad gamble for a 3rd pick AND we wasted two of them…..dam what a shame. i hope next years picks pan out for us and are not any type of bust. lord knows we have had our fair share of those kind of picks. as long as the line is addressed both offensive and defensive, i dont really care who is drafted aslong as it helps the teams needs.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:07 am
next start will be favre’s 250th… I hope he is okay for a quarter or so, though Rodgers did look quite good too, but man it was late… *yawn*
November 30th, 2007 at 10:11 am
But why is our Cheerleaders uniform looks like something from the 70’s and the girls something from the 90’s???
Al I want prettier Cheerleaders! i don’t care if they cant dance or what the H-ll it is called…
November 30th, 2007 at 10:14 am
Oh, I know he will more than likely start, he has a streak he’s trying to keep. But I watched him after the game yesterday on NFL net and he also said that the elbow was swollen and that it would get worse before it got better. But that was about his elbow, he mentioned his shoulder being separated, but didn’t elaborate on it. That is what I’m wondering about, about his shoulder. Combined with his elbow, it might be enough to make him sit for a week to rest it up with the playoffs being so close and because in GBs mind they’ll be going against a weaker team at home. And because of how good Rodgers did too. What worries me is that in the unlikely event that Favre sits out, it won’t make a difference beause of Rodgers gaining confidence by his performance last night.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:29 am
Let’s take down Shanarat and the Donkeys baby!
November 30th, 2007 at 10:32 am
Raul,
I don’t put it past Al to do something so foolish(M. Allen) but it does sound unreal. Especially now that we need pass rushers and definitely run stoppers. Burgess is playing well but he has been injury prone this yr and we have yet to resign him to a long term deal. I still say we could improve our team by signing free agents at this time and searching the practice squads oif other teams. We are in an evaluation/ upgrading period for unless we win out and S.D. lose 3 of their five games we are not going anywhere. I just don’t believe Stu and Josh are worthy of their roster positions ( They are either Lane’s or Al’s boys!!) 4 QB’s??!! No other team in the NFL has more than 3!! If we could find a DT that can play a few downs to slow the rush and a safety that can bring the pain once or twice a game that would be more than what we have go from DT we have and Stuey. Please just cut that walking injury report Josh so he can die.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:35 am
The donks are going down. there’s no doubt in my mind. Kiffin does a lot better against opponents he’s played before. There’s something about his offensive gameplanning that attacks the defense at their weakness. I know, every coach does that, but he just has a gift or something that allows him to do it with efficiency. But I’ve noticed this about him in his college years. And I have been saying it since we first lost to the Donks earlier this season, that the second time around, it would be all us. It will still be a close game, but you will see a different approach offensively than the first time. A more successful one. Though that might also be because we don’t have McClown under center….lol
November 30th, 2007 at 10:35 am
Raul,
If Moses was dumb enough to brush Al Davis off he should have been cut…what an idiot. Just placate the senile old man and go back to work Moses!
November 30th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Links anyone?? links to watch the game…. it will be greatly apprecited. Thank you RAIDER NATION for all the support!!!
November 30th, 2007 at 10:41 am
Glory,
I refuse to believe Bing is worse than Stu for if Bing had been at SS and Huff moved to FS the Raiders would be a much better team. You could always move Huff up to cover the elite TE’s when necessary. We know Bing could hit which we saw at SC. Remember he was on IR last yr and was’nt given a shot here, hell he was cut before our preseason opener. You can’t tell me that Stu can go anywhere else and start for that team. As for Josh can we say “PRETZEL BOY” is a mockery to our ‘I’M IN’ slogan, more like”I’M INJURED” THE GREATNESS OF THE RAIDERS.

If Bing is that great why isn’t he on a single NFL roster right now? I just don’t understand the woody everyone seems to have for this guy and Moses.

If J-Money took snaps with the 1st team then he ’s playing Sunday! Hopefully they give C-Pep a rest and let J-Money close out the 1st half if we’re winning then.

Rodmoney…
Schweigert was better in college than bing was in college… So let it go man, it was a bad pick…
November 30th, 2007 at 11:16 am
Lil Howie can play DT too…
If for some reason he’s gone by the time the raiders pick, then there may be some thought involved.
But I know how Al Davis is about legacy…and it’s not like the raiders don’t need defensive linemen.

think about this,
Ok, so since the report broke out last week about JRod playing, and it was denied by Kiff, and now it seems to be closer to a reality than ever before. Than what does that tell us about the Ark story? It is kind of following the same path that this rumor did. However, it could also be a situational coincidence. Because of DC and JM recent injuries. I don’t know…I really hope is nothing, and that the timing of the injuries and the JRod report are just a coincidence. But still it could say a lot about the Ark and any other rumor that might come up next. I’ve been saying all along that the Ark rumor is just that, a rumor. And I want to see JRod play as much as the next fan on this blog. But the timing of how things are developing kind of makes me think….

THAT AL DAVIS BRUSH OFF STORY IS THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF CRAP

COACHING !!! COACHING !!! COACHING!!!!!
November 30th, 2007 at 11:21 am
Kinda strange of Kiff letting a USC player go ? Must’ve known what he was getting? Heck I remember one interview last year Bing stated he wanted to be “Rookie All-American” in the NFL, that tells you something right there, too many hard hits .

An older lady in Pennsylvania sued K-Mart because she was taxed on her purchase of toilet paper and she won because that particular state cannot tax that particular item. She received $100 dollars and all court bills were paid for. Honestly…what the hell is the world coming too?
November 30th, 2007 at 11:29 am
It was nice to see the Cowboys exploit all the weaknesses of the Packers before we play them. What we know…The Packers play the same scheme on defense as we do. Basically….we can run all over them and they can run all over us. Favre can throw deep and Culpepper can throw deep. The difference? Possibly no Favre but I wouldn’t really count on that. Favre is probably the toughest person to ever play. Bum elbow and a dislocated non throwing shoulder in the game…thats nothing for him. He’ll probably play better. I worry about Ryan Grant though because the guy is pretty good. As good as the Packers have been, their schedule hasn’t been all that tough and they have won alot of close games. I guess the difference between them and us is that they win the close ones and we usually lose the close ones.

Yea, you know, I never understood why Moses got cut. Specially after Sapp and Burgess were giving him such high praises. But then again, why is he not starting or playing in another team? Or is he? Correct me if I am wrong. But still, he doesn’t seem to be making an impact anywhere else.
November 30th, 2007 at 11:45 am
SOULPATROL2… is it possible to get you to drop the caps? - thanx
It doesn’t make your more or less valid it just makes it easier for the readers to read…
____
ChargerChoke…
You thought Kiffin would make a team our of former USC player only? each year only 3 or 4 player from each College makes it to the 53 rosters…
Kiffin fires a player only because he isn’t good enough and he only hires them if they are good….
Bing wasn’t good…. period.
Moses did cut, many different story for why, but he was claimed by ARI, and tehy cut him too. Now he is in MIA and I still think it was the right call to let him go and keep Richardsom.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:03 pm
La Milicia Negra….
My point was Kiff knew Bing wasn’t good enough , he knew Bings physical and mental skills from his days at USC.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
La Milicia Negra….
There’s no such thing as Rookie All-American in the NFL , there’s rookie All-Pro .
So for a guy who’s played football all his life to be saying he wants to be Rookie All-American then his bell has been rung too many times.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
Bing was a “tweener” not a LB, not fast enuff to be safety. Moses was cut because the Riaders like Richardson more. Can’t say that was a bad decision. By being cut not once but twice, I think it opened Moses’s eyes up and lit a fire under him. If he were here, he’d be another high draft pick, lounging around, hitting the buffet table and not producing.
Regarding Russell, I thought it would be smarter to have him start on Sunday. There is a certain rythmn to games that sometimes it helps to be in there from the start. Kiff obviously didn’t think so, but now I think they’re just keeping the pressure off him. Right now, just like the Arkansas story, its a NON-STORY. Just imagine if #2 was starting. Shoot the press ould be out the door of the Alameda facility. right now what are they gonna ask him?? “You ready??” “”Yeah”. End of interview. Gotta say, I think it’s brilliant. Keep the press off him, keep him focused. lastly, apparently #2 ran with the first teamers and did VERY WELL. Ran the boot left and right, looks good. Let’s see him on Sunday.

Me thinks that SOULPATROL2 & TheRevengeOfMoses (pendejo) are the same people. Let me give you a little tip bro:
If you are going to rant about the same things under multiple post names at least change up your style. You post the exact same crap and in the exact same way under both names. Go back and take a look and you will see what I mean.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
I have to admit i have never seen any post by ‘TheRevengeOfMoses’
November 30th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
First time poster, long time reader. I have a question for the nation. I know we gave away some draft picks last year to move up in various rounds. Does anyone know exactly what picks we have left this year of our own? Also, do we have anyone else’s picks? Help me out.
Despite the look forward I am very excited to beat the broncos. Do you still remember the fluttering 53 yarder that Jaeger kicked to beat them that one year. I was like 12, but I must have had that newspaper clipping on my wall for a year and a half.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
La Milicia Negra …..
Bing said that in his first Raider interview by “Behind the Shield”.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
Triple A, welcome and nice. I wouldn’t worry about the draft just yet, I smell a flurry of activity between now and April. Here I’ll give you a preview. Expect Andrew Walter to be gone for a third or fourth rounder. Probably a bunch of others as well.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:47 pm
Acey40Deuce,
You are so right on, that was definetly return of pendejo.
A name change doesn’t change the fact he is still a moron.
I wish he would come clean and stop playing out I love the raiders post , should have kept moses.
Moses had no backbone and no other skill set, he was given individual attention from coach Millard.
I guess some minds can’t handle too much information.
I guess Arizona had no use for his lack of discipline too. He should go to the Arizona web blog and raise crap over there.
What a moron. And cool off the caps lock, big boy.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
Keep a look out for Porter this weekend. With Culpepper or Russell starting, we might be able to connect on those deep routes to Porter against Bly. Plus after the success we had throwing those medium-deep routes to Miller last week, we might see him more this week. (besides those annoying flat routes that average 3-yds)
November 30th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
LMN,
Go back to the past updates and look for the major cap locks on a post. That will be him a real loser.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:52 pm
Pre practice update is up,
I figured it was going to shake out like that.

November 30th, 2007 at 4:02 pm
We could run on them all day long, sorry thing is, they can run on us too. Looks like it comes down to a field goal again.
