Walker is indeed hamstrung

Coach Lane Kiffin confirmed following a long practice session Wednesday that Javon Walker was limited with a hamstring pull.
Walker and Kalimba Edwards (groin) the only players who were limited.
Teams are required to list whether players practiced or were limited in terms of participation and give the nature of the injury, but don’t have to disclose any other details.
Walker worked out in front of media members Sunday before practice and wasn’t named by Kiffin that day as being injured. Walker spoke to the media after practice, was walking without a limp and with neither leg wrapped, and didn’t mention an injury.
Kiffin said Walker would be “questionable” if it were a game day, giving credence to Adam Schefter’s NFL Network report which reported his condition as such. Kiffin also said Walker fully expects to play against Denver.
Walker was not in the locker room during media availability.
The Raiders hope to get Ashley Lelie up to speed and ready to play if Walker can’t go. Lelie has some familiarity with the offensive system since the Raiders run a similar system to Denver and because Lelie played for Greg Knapp for a year in Atlanta.

All will be well! If you haven’t noticed, like other playmakers on other teams, Walker doesn’t like to practice. As long as he steps up on game day is all that matters. Fans tend to forget he is coming off a knee injury, which takes time and getting knock out in Vegas. Kiffin being tough on them now will pay off down the road. “Walker will do great things!” People seem to forget that our receivers go up against one of the top 3 secondaries in the NFL every day. Our receivers won’t have to go up against secondaries as good as the Raiders every game. Our pass defense is that good. Now, if we can get solid against the run.

This season is shaping up to be one crisis after another. The receiver situation is almost laughable. Glenn Dickey just posted an interesting article about Walker and Lelie. He says that Lelie is unreliable running his routes, especially the shorter timing-based patterns. Walker seems to plagued with all kinds of issues. Poor Jamarcus, saddled with this bunch.

I think the heroes on Sunday will be Michael Bush, Zach Miller and……Stanford Routt.
Bush, because Fargas will soften them, McFadden will tire them and then Bush will punish them.
Miller, because he just knows where to find the hole and because JR just knows where to find Miller.
Routt, because Cutler will try and live up to all the CNNSI-hype and take on the Raiders secondary - except that our CBs are better than their WRs - so he will play on the nickel. Routt is ready.
Plus at least two Burgess sacks, one Huff interception and JLH will break one for 50 yards.

Walker is playing Monday. This whole things reeks of a smokescreen, remember the Quarterback shuffle that Kiffin was orchestrating at the start of last season. Kiffin is just one of those coaches, like Belicheck, that enjoys a little gamesmanship in every aspect of the sport.

We don’t need WRs on Monday. Denver’s strength is (like ours) against the pass and their weakness (like ours) is against the run.
Our offense is all about Fargas, Griffith, McFadden, Bush and Miler. The WRs will just be required to tie up Champ and Dre. Monday is not going to be pretty - just a war of attrition.

Second, he has coasted thru camp, had little muscle tweaks, and has not been a leader. Third, he has done absolutley nothing to show his old form. I say we cut his ass as soon. We will miss Mr Pain O’Neal - because he was just every LBs nightmare but, I can’t see the Broncos holding our RBs through 4 quarters. Fargas will get the early carries and will establish the pattern. McFadden will up the ante and really stretch and tire the defense. Bush will arrive in Q3 and they won’t have the energy left to contain him.
I would like to see our WRs consistently running outs and flys - simply to spread the field and to keep their CBs near the touchlines. That would leave more room in the middle for Miller, Griffith, McFadden and Bush. Lelie has the speed to force Bailey outside, it doesn’t matter if he never has to make a catch.

This one’s an older one that I’m sure most of you have heard, but it’s more befitting. The Donkeys will ride in laughing and leave crying….
A man walks into a bar and sits down and orders a drink.
