Working from home today on Raiders and NFL-related assignments, but my spies (OK, Media News beat writer Steve Corkran) tell me everyone everyone was present and accounted for during the media window, including wide receiver Javon Walker.
It remains to be seen how much Walker will be doing when team sessions begin.
I’ll pass along an update with information supplied by Steve after Lane Kiffin’s press briefing and the open locker room session.

September 4th, 2008 at 11:43 am
LMN,
The BART is the Bay Area Rapid Transit.
I rode the BART when I was a teen to an A’s game…I think it is a train that runs between Oakland and SF…part of the journey is under the bay I believe.
I am not a local and I could be way off on this.

Dakota is right “Bay Area Rapid Transit”, it runs all over the Bay from SF to Oakland to near San Jose. But most importantly it goes to the Coliseum, where a large pedestrian bridge extends from the station to the stadium entrance. On the bridge is the best place to scalp tickets, purchase knock-off merchandise, and listen to some nice “street saxophone”.
September 4th, 2008 at 11:53 am
Actually, everything. I am not talking SB best year ever.
Theres so much to look forward to.
JR. McDaddy. I think we will be greatly improved and hopefully the Al haters will stop hating.
I think he wants to win more then anyone else and is just as capable as any other GM/owner in the biz.
We have been in the dumps for 5 years and this year we start winning again.
10-6 and we knock the Pats out of the playoffs
September 4th, 2008 at 11:56 am
quag we usually party behind the black hole! Hell yeah Im gonna tailgate hope to see ya there!
LMN cuz for 4 tix and some happy smoke we got 6 tix I’m taking the Princess 2 her first Raider Game its gonna be sweet except for the fact I cant get stupid drunk like I usually do!

Is that the real Dakota?
September 4th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
I went to an A’s-O’s game on September 2nd, 1992. Scottie Pippen, errr I mean Mike Devereaux, hit what ended up being the game winning HR. Eck pitched even though Oakland trailed and struck out the side in the 8th or 9th. The reason I remember it is because the night before the A’s traded Canseco to Texas for Sierra, who couldn’t suit up because he had the chicken pox or something like that.
The crowd seemed pretty pissed about the trade.
September 4th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
408, any distinct set-up i should be lookin’ for?
September 4th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
Hey Dakota, I was at that game. Sierra did suit up and play from what I remember, chicken pox and all.
September 4th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
I have only been able to attend the following pro games:
Red Sox @ Twins
O’s @ A’s
Giants @ Rockies
Texas @ Rockies
Cubs @ Rockies (Three times)
Texas @ Rockies
KC @ Rockies
Braves @ Rockies
Raiders @ Broncos (Twice…both losses, fuking sucked)
Orlando @ T-Wolves (Exhibition in RC, SD–did get to see Shaq up close after the game…HUGE)
September 4th, 2008 at 12:12 pm

thanks.. I’ll remember that =)

September 4th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Quag,
No problem, it was a looooong time ago. I see Eck didn’t strike out the side, he only struck out two…memory is a strange thing.
September 4th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Afternoon gentleman.
As the Nation prepares to rise up and acend that mountain, RaiderDogg is cleaning his Hibachi grill and getting the tailgate gear in order. I know it’s early but you can never be too prepared.
I got my authentic McFadden home jersey in the mail yesterday and it looks damn good. I don’t know if you guys realize it or not, but McFadden is going to be a bonafide star. I know Dakota knows. He’s the one who told me.
I was here last night posting some anti-9er rant and everytime I mentioned the 9ers my post got moderated. Is it possible that the Tribune would hire a 9er fan to moderate a Raider blog?

Whats happening bro. Sorry I missed your post last night, I bounced after the 9er mod blasted all of my posts.
I, too, am worried about our DT depth. When you have only 3 dt’s and they all have conditioning issues, I’m not quite sure why you would be ok with that. Makes me think that they are waiting to bring in a vet after week one to avoid being on the hook for an entire season’s salary.
September 4th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
What up Ira! Good to see you bro.
Quag -
I got the jersey off of Ebay for $75, straight up Authentic! I was bidding on one and lost and the dude sent me a “Second chance offer” for $75 and free shipping. I guess he had a few of them. I went back to him to see if he had any left for my buddy and he was already sold out. Dude must have gotten a grip of them off the back of a truck or something. He also had JaMarcus and Hall. All gone.
How’s your jersey hustle going these days?

September 4th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
4 days, 6 hours, 35 minutes, and 53 seconds left until the Denver Broncos visits the Oakland Raiders!
Looks like I may be given the day off on Monday so I may be out there tailgating early! Yeeeah boyeeee!
Can’t wait.
September 4th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
Anyone else notice that Jason Jones always posts about 10 minutes after Jerry does and his titles are the same exact context, just different play on Jerry’s title? lol
Jason does add more details at times though.
Regardless of who provides the fix, I really appreciate it!
September 4th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
A few days ago I saw a guy wearing a Raiders cap, with x’s and o’s plays drawn on it. Has anyone seem them sold anywhere? I wanted to pick one up.

True Story. I was transferred to the Bay Area for work about six years ago. Our company had Season tickets to BOTH the Niners and the Raiders. I had no problem getting any clients to go to the Niners, but had to “BEG” clients to go to the Raiders. If you do not have a criminal record, going to a Raider game is like Stevie Wonder playing at a KKK Rally. When you get to the ticket gate, they don’t even look at your seat location, they just ask, ” Felony or Misdemeanor?” and steer you to your appropriate section.
This is Raiders/ Broncos Week, and in Oakland, this is the ONLY game that the Raiders sell out. No other game except the Cowboys, where half the stands are in Cowboy Blue. Every team has their crazy and unruly fans, but no team even comes close to the uncivilized , thuggish behaviour the Raider Nation exhibits. I have seen grown men, GROWN MEN, spit on and pull off a small child’s jersey because he wore the opposing teams jersey. That’s not love, that’s assault!
I went to a Bronco / Raider game there one year. I can’t remember the EXACT score , but it was like 77 to 3, we beat them. I remember Griese was hurt, and Bubby came in and threw for like 900 yards and delivered a baby during a TV timeout. As I was carrying out one of the Raider fans who had passed out, he suddenly woke up and said to two girls walking past, ” You shee this guy right hheere? He’s a Broknoos fan….” then passed out again.
One young girl, turned to me and said, ” You’re lucky I’m on parole, or I’d kick your A$$” .TRUE STORY

Kids are off limits @ the games not only will the fans smash you! but security will be there with the cops this guy is from the same fantasy planet as tard buy!

LOL, let the blackouts at Charger games start:
http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/09/04/chargers-scrambling-to-sell-tickets/
————————
The San Diego Chargers have announced that they’ve received a 24-hour extension to sell the rest of the tickets to the regular-season opener at Qualcomm Stadium. If they can’t, the game will not be shown on television in the San Diego market.
“We’re doing everything we can to get the word out that we still have tickets for sale. We think that a lot of fans just don’t realize we still have tickets available,” said Chief Operating Officer Jim Steeg. “Our streak of 30 consecutive regular season and postseason sellouts is definitely in jeopardy.”
————————
How can a superbowl ready team be struggling to sell off their opener? Oh, that’s right, they aren’t playing the Raiders, so they can’t use our fan base to fill in what their fair-weather fans leave empty.

I’m a big dude, I can get away with wearing an XL but XXL looks good on me. My advice would be to go to your local sports/jersey store and try a few on before you buy. The authentics are all made by Reebok, so even if you have to suffer through trying on another team’s jersey(puke) at least you will have a better idea of what size would be good for you. My McFadden jersey is a 54 which equates to XXL. I have a JaMarcus jersey that is a 56 and looks big on me. Make sure it’s authentic cuz those cheap replicas don’t fit the same way.
