Broncos-Raiders a sellout
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, September 4th, 2008 at 12:47 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Raiders CEO Amy Trask informed media members present at the club facility Thursday that the season opener between the Raiders and Broncos has been declared a sellout, although some individual tickets remain.
Meanwhile, the San Diego Chargers, division winners in each of the last two years, had to request a 24-hour deadline in attempt to sell enough tickets to declare a sellout for a Sunday game.
More to come later following Lane Kiffin’s press briefing and the open locker room session.

September 4th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
There is an EASY way to make sure to see the game….buy a ticket and be there!
September 4th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
KIFFIN will “pound the rock”.
Fargas, DMac, & Bush will get a lot of opportunities carrying the ball.

“Raider Dogg-
I’ve been mulling over buying a Authentic jersey online but I don’t know how big they run, what size did you get and how big a boy are you?”
I’m a big dude, I can get away with wearing an XL but XXL looks good on me. My advice would be to go to your local sports/jersey store and try a few on before you buy. The authentics are all made by Reebok, so even if you have to suffer through trying on another team’s jersey(puke) at least you will have a better idea of what size would be good for you. My McFadden jersey is a 54 which equates to XXL. I have a JaMarcus jersey that is a 56 and looks big on me. Make sure it’s authentic cuz those cheap replicas don’t fit the same way.

This is what I’m talking about. Al stuck w/Kiffin and we have a team to watch this year ‘coming out of the gate’ whereas you point out, the Chargers have no personality and act like little rich pompous kids with their nose in the air and I hope we clean their clock this year at home and abroad! Go Raiders!

Great! I can’t wait. God, I hope we win.

Hell yes. Now everyone (especially the local Raider fans) can see the Raiders pound the Donks on Monday night. I’ll be there live from HB in SoCal like every season, every game 103 r20. We are going to run the rock down their throats! F*ck the Chargers and Norvall. They’re going nowhere.

(Sarcasm )Man see this is why the Raiders need to move back to LA!!! They never sell out in Oakland=zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
September 4th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
HELLLLL YEEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
I’ll be seeing all my nation brothers at the game.
September 4th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
response to #35
Yeah, people used to have fist fights to see who got to sit in the end zone front row only 40 yards from the field. They didn’t even use a net to keep the ball from going into the seats.
September 4th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
The reason that the game is considered a sellout is because the local car dealers promise to buy any unsold seats. That way they can advertise on local TV.
September 4th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Endzoner………shhhhhhhhhit then what was LA’s excuse for the lack of attendance? All kind of dealerships and businesses could buy up tickets……facts are since the raiders took over the ticket sales……….the attendance has been on point…..the OFMA messed things up for years
September 4th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Raiders couldnt even beat the dolphins if they played .There isn’t a chance in hell they are going to beat the DENVER BRONCOS.Who will be #1 in the AFC West.I’ve seen highschool teams about as good as the RaIdErS.It sucks being at the bottom.I wouldnt know though.I’m a Bronco Fan.Lelie and Walker only wish they could be back in Denver.
September 4th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
RAIDERS SUCK -JUST ASK ANYONE THAT WATCHES FOOTBALL.
September 4th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Will the Raiders even win a game this year.—-YES— Only if the other team forfeits.Don’t you raider fans agree.
September 4th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Brien, in response to #39, the reason why LA sold out is that there were so many unsold seats. There were 20-30k unsold in LA at least. I bet there aren’t a tenth of that number unsold in Oakland.
#41 and #42, did you watch that game last Dec 2nd? 34-20 was the score, as I recall.
September 4th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Place will be rockin… Glad we did not cut Sam Williams… He played well last seaon until he was hurt. Or was that the year before? Anyway, I think he will be much improved this year. Just a feeling..
September 4th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Endoner… don’t respond to the trolls… it only makes the drool more..
September 4th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
It better be a sellout I am flying in for this game Go Raiders!!!
September 4th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Amy - exactly how many empty seats does a “sell-out” actually have?
September 4th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
I’m delighted that the game in Oakland against the Broncos is a sellout. I knew it would be.
As most of you know I live in San Diego. Did you know that during the Chargers’ down period the team had an arrangement with the City of San Diego whereas the city (meaning the taxpayers) would buy up all of the unsold tickets to Charger games. And believe me, there were a lot of unsold tickets. The city then gave the tickets to the military, youth and charitable groups and the like. The city has since come to its senses and has told the Chargers they will not build a new stadium. The Chargers’ last hope is the suburban city of Chula Vista, a town that could not afford to put on a Fourth of July fireworks show.
Oakland Raider fans, you are the greatest! Let’s sell out the Oakland Coliseum for the entire season!
September 5th, 2008 at 5:04 am
10:15 East Coast kickoff. Wow, it’s going to be a late night Monday. We better win!!
GO RAIDERS!!
September 5th, 2008 at 5:40 am
Hahahahahaha, where is that moron at that was saying his “inside Source” said there was 20k tickets left?
September 5th, 2008 at 6:46 am
Guys,
You were probably not on the blog last night, but we are gonna hit the donkos website today at noon…….just to trash them……look at this article
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/sep/04/teams-sure-to-test-for-weak-link-on-broncos/#comments
here is a caption……………….
“And we’ll just block the guys in front of us,” Dennison said.
Block them with a rookie at left tackle in Ryan Clady, a second- year player at right tackle in Ryan Harris and a third-year player at right guard in Chris Kuper. In short, that’s more youth in the starting lineup for an opener than the Broncos have had in Dennison’s time coaching the offensive front.
And more than enough youth to get the attention of a defensive coordinator such as, say, Rob Ryan of the Oakland Raiders.
“Sure, I think they are going to come out and test them, you expect that from a defense,” Broncos tight end Daniel Graham said. “That’s just the way it is. They try to find a weak link on the offense or try to find inexperience. But those guys have played all through the preseason, and they’ll be ready. They have to be.”
September 5th, 2008 at 6:48 am
They are scared and unsure of themselves, just like the donkos fans!!!!
September 5th, 2008 at 6:49 am
my prediction…..Shanarat will be looking for a job by 8 games in…………….and complaining because he got punked for money he is owed………trying to collect unemployeement from Mr. Davis…………LOL…….Maybe he can wash the d-lines jock straps………….

September 5th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
In response to #43, uuuuh after how many straight beat downs? Swept u guys how many straight years? Commintment to excellence. . . . what a f*****g joke!!!
September 5th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
It took until 3 days before the game, and a car salesmans promise to buy the extra tickets, to even consider this a “sellout”? Are you kidding me? Raider fans are jokes.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Hey knee-gro,
Your game hasn’t even sold out yet dumb a**. Go crawl in a cave a die.

I guess you can’t read.

Gawd, you fader fanz are really as dumb as you look. The only reason your greasy stadium is sold out is because Bowlen had to pay the light bill after greasy al went bankrupt paying all that money to buy more looooosers to play on his team. Last I heard he was selling his walker so that he could afford to pay the waterboys to start next year. Oh no! Does t6hat mean JR is going to have to carry greasy al to the press box? Hope those scab on greasy al’s face aren’t contageous.
