Raiders can be alone at the top

It means nothing other than it beats an alternative the Raiders know all too well.
With the San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs both losing their openers Sunday, the Raiders would be alone in first place by beating the Denver Broncos Monday night at McAfee Coliseum.
Fact is, the the last time the Raiders were alone in first place in the AFC West was when they beat the Chiefs 24-0 to close out their third straight division title en route to a conference championship.

REPORT: BRADY OUT FOR THE YEAR WITH TORN ACL

Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports reports that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to miss the rest of the 2008 season with a “severe injury to his left knee.”
The injury is widely believed to be a torn ACL. Silver says that there could be other ligament and cartilage damage.
“It’s bad,” a team source told Silver. “We’re going to have to play without him.”
The starter will be Matt Cassel. Unless the Pats bring back Vinny Testaverde. Or Doug Flutie. Or Steve Grogan.
UPDATE: Silver’s report has been updated — the ACL tear is confirmed.

Mr. Russell, Mr. Morrison, Mr. Howard, Mr. Asomugha, Mr. Curry, Mr. Huff, and Head Coach Mr. Kiffin, and the rest of the team you are professionals, relish the pressure, use it to motivate you, it is your time to step up; for it is your time.
Mr. Davis keep all three QBs, we need all three, I agree we need to stay deep and unified in that position. Our whole backfield is deep, runningbacks especially.
Potential three 1000 yard rushers, not since Dolphins did it has it happened. (That is for the future of an entire season).

The Raiders now have the opportunity to “run the table” in the AFC West. How sweet it is to be able to lead from the front and never look back.
Kiffin needs to play it smart and totally demoralize the Broncos with the running game. Take no prisoners and dominate the opposition for a full 4 quarters. We’ve got years worth of payback stored up and it’s now time to collect from the piper. It wouldn’t break my heart for our D to put Cutler out of the game early.
This year is different for many reasons. One of the biggest additions this year has been our new Strength coach. In the past years we simply were being physically overpowered. No longer will that be the case. It’s time to hand out some pain & discipline. The real Kiffin era begins tomorrow evening.

I rechecked the stats, I was wrong. I always thought all three had 1000 yds in 1972. (only Morris & Csonka 1000= yds, Kiick with 500+ yds)
Past does not matter, just like the last 5 seasons, the distant future and week two are irrelevant for now, all that matters the Oakland Raiders defeating the Broncos on MNF.

By the 4th Quarter the Bronco D line is going to be so beat up Michael Bush will run for 100+ yards in the 2nd Half alone. Dmac will run for 100+ yards and Fargas may also make it a trifecta.
And finally, in addition to the fact that it was a fumble, our D will hold them to less than 100 yards rushing. And yes, we will win dramatically!

Sometimes we just know that things have to fall into place for everything to properly work. It’s like one, two, three, etc. It’s like making sweet love, the lips, the ears, the neck, etc. When it comes to AFC football, it’s the chiefs losing, the dischargers getting stomped in the last minute of play and the donkeys losing to us. Yes, when a team in our division loses, it’s sweet, when a team in our division personally loses to us, it’s like, one, two, three, it’s like sweet love, the lips, the ears, the neck, the breast, the navel, the &%*&&^*, etc etc…doesn’t get any better than that. As of this moment, we’ve tasted the lips, the neck and tomorrow we taste the ears and those heavenly places that our individual imaginations take us to. Enjoy.

yeah i made some rookie mistakes as well. Didn’t get the production out of LT. I literally flipped a coin to decide who to start between Willie Parker and Brandon Jacobs. Went with Jacobs because Parker only scored 2 rushing TD’s all season last year…. Misterbrown is beating me by 12 points right now. I can win or tie if reggie wayne goes off.

So Brady’s gone. Once upon a time Brady was an unproven rookie and he took his team all the way. Coaching had something to do with that. They sure aren’t helped by this, but the Patriots will likely be OK.

Can you imagine what would happen if the faders were alone at the top of the standings? It would upset the balance of nature. The BIG ONE would hit the West Coast on Tuesday morning. Call it a hunch, but I have a really good feeling about tomorrow night. We will win, but I think it’ll be close game, something along the score of 27-24.
This was a very interesting opening Sunday for the NFL. A lot of surprises. Both good and bad. KC’s D looked decent eh?… Wish Brady well and a fast recovery and all, but I can’t help thinking KC finally got something right.
SD loses, and it seems now that it takes them up until week 5 or 6 to kick into high gear. Just in time for us to pull an upset and stay on the top of the AFCW through our bye.
But it all starts tomorrow night. The Raiders have to bring their A game. As much as I wish we kill the Donkeys, I think we are going to have to be pretty good tomorrow to come out with a W. This game is already a classic, simply by the starts of JR and McF, not to mention Bush, Walker, Namdi, Hall and Wilson. All of whom have had some sort of popularity and special interest this offseason, aside from the expectations on the field.
All the pieces are in place for the Raiders to take hold of this opportunity and the make this season a memorable one, this time, for all the right reasons.
