You have your point of view, but step back and look at the situation.
The HC you hired, just 9 months earlier, states to you the owner he wants to pursue a college job.
Where is the commitment form Kiffin, remember the slogan he had over the awning when the players entered the practice field “IM IN” what was Kifin sign “IM OUT”
Davis said he could LEAVE, just resign, why should Davis fire him when Kiffin asked to leave.
Find the link to the Press Conference and watch Davis in Detail speak of this event you and I are commenting about.
Kiffin could have met with Davis and talked about his change of direction as head coach or issued an apology and the issued would have been dropped.
Kiffin was mad and made the situationworse to where it ended this week, finally.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:51 am
“Cable knows his o-line. If Harris & Green are our best tackles, that’s why they are starting. That basically means our depth at tackle is crap.”
=======================================================
In our playcalling, we better take into consideration our tackles. Russell was sacked 6x yesterday
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:53 am
Dell why explain to an Euro chump like Copenhagen
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:54 am
Henderson at LT and Harris at RT will work better. Green wouldn’t start on any other team in the NFL
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:56 am
Dell..So that just proves my point more. You stick with a lying, lousy coach and don’t fire him because of principles…the need to win against him as some part of a personal vendetta, letting it drag out and poisoning the team and causing chaos in the press because you can’t let it go…..biting your nose off to spite your face??? Is that smart?
So Kiffin was an evil, backstabbing, genius that could manipulate everybody and fool the entire public? Hmmm that descripition fits the M.O. of Al Davis over 40 years. Consider that.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:58 am
Then go get a new team you little punk cuz Al aint dying for at least another 10 years
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:58 am
Another fact is that you don’t consider is WHY Kiffin wanted out so quick? Maybe because Davis is impossible to work with. Just like with the last 5 coaches. Look at the pattern, or bury your head and accept it blindly and think it’s all going to work out now that Kiffin is gone. LOL
OH Brien..the Euro chump is doing just fine laying low and avoiding the dire consequences of the American economy that has bitten the dust and is enjoying the real freedom of democracy with 6 weeks paid vacation LOL
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Brien..instead of merely accepting crap, I chose to stay as a real fan and voice my opinion and hope that it will have an effect allowing my team that I live and die with to once again reach greatness!
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Democracy= doesn’t exist and never has………..the whole world is biting the dust you ignorant fool

I agree with that assessment. Fortunately for us, Cedrick Ellis DT-NO, incurred a torn meniscus in his knee. He’ll be out a couple of weeks. He would have torn Grove/Wade & Morris a new one. He was positioned to make JR miserable that day.
As far as the passing game goes, we will see if ANY of our receivers can get separation. IMO, JLH can but the rest are mediocre at best. You can’t make completions if the receivers are not open.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:01 pm
Brien..no democracy doesn’t exist in a country with the electoral college system, but actually works other places in the world if you’ve ever traveled or read a book other than something containing sports LOL
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:03 pm
Brien…no use trying to have a political conversation on a football blog. Especially with a guy like you that most likely has an education level on par with Jethro Bodine.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Brien<——-not a fan……insult to ever call me one
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Was I the only one that saw Al talk about calls on the field and strategy and player control etc. Straight from the horses mouth, “I want the coach to coach the team.” Al flat out admitted that he is the one in control and the coach is walking on eggshells to not upset big Al, seriously,” I told Rob Ryan he was not going anywhere.” Al basically blames everyone for the last five years. His comment that he accepts responsibility for the coach hiring is thinly veiled and Al really means, “It’s not my fault, they tricked me.” Al is an idiot….
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:05 pm
You can’t even have a somewhat intelligent discourse on football, why should I engage you in a conversation on something that actually demands a modicum of analytical skills or reasoning ability?
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:06 pm
If you read books you moron you would know the world’s string are being pulled by a select few. Jethro Bodine hahahahahaha oh my god your Euro trash comedy is so superior.

You and I just will disagree, I hope someday you have your own business, and when a employee has asked you to leave to pursue another job that you compete in the marketplace with, possibly telling them your business plans or production plans.
You won’t fire him, have him give two weeks notice and leave.
Kiffin had a contract with the Raider organization that states if he is fired he will collect his remaining years of money on that contract.
Davis had no intention of firing Kiffin, Kiffin should have resigned and pursued the college job.
Davis stated in the press conference he wanted to give him time to mature in the job and had hope he could work better with all the coaches and players.
That’s why Davis didn’t fire him during his pursuit of a college job.
Davis, was patient with Kiffin, why fire someone who wants to leave, just should have resigned and left.
CopenhagenFan, in retrospect maybe Davis relying on other people in Kiffin life advising him to change and be a professional was a Davis mistake.
Davis probably thought Kiffin, knowing Pete Carroll and speaking with his Dad could have changed his attitude.
Time was given, it didn’t work out.

I am inclined to agree with Dell.
I believe that many things that go on within the Raider organization are viewed as “strange” because we are losing.
I think Mr Davis shouldering the blame as he did on Tuesday should have silenced the continued criticism.
Mr Davis listened to someone who lobbied hard for Quentin Moses. Mr Davis listened to somebody who pushed for Philip Buchanon. He is 79 and does not do his own scouting.
Mr Davis had hoped that Kiffin would help in the area of the draft and bring “youth into the organization”.
Though I think Kiffin did some positive things it seems as though he was too immature for the job.
Let’s hope that Cable does his part as a COACH and that Mr Davis can address the draft problem effectively in another way.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Dell,
Good post #34. i was going to state the same aurgument, but you said it perfectly. Al hired a young guy to head his coaching staff: not football operations. Al tried to give this kid a chance to develop, but kiffin was clealry not ready and convinced he is snarter than one of the most innovative pioneers of football and sports marketing. Al has a lot of problems.
I can write a paper on how he needs to change his management style to be more suited for the younger generations of talent if he wants to be more competitive. Al has to be transprent instead of seceretive, he has to have two way coomunication instaead of just sitting back in his thrown and ruling. He has cede control because running a billion dollar enterprise is tough for an executive team with top talent: it is impossible to run a team with success the way he does. His way is more of a crap shoot.
all that being said, Kiffin is a liar and he was trying to find a job as soon as he beat KC and denver last year. Once he lost to Indy he started to distance himsef from the Raiders organization thinking he had done enough by beating two division rivals to go back to the college ranks: Arkansas, UCLA.
He has no integrity, and Al roasted him because his fan base ( season ticket holders like my self included) had openly sided with Kiffin and even signed an online pettition requesting he not fire Kiffin. Al had to move on Kiffin and he owed the most important stakeholders a valid explanation. I don’t wish well for Kiffin, he is has very questionable character and he is the one who forced this situation.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Dick V……..exactly! The kid was a liar and doesn’t treat folks right. Peopel said the same stuff at USC and he was likethat at Fresno State. Who is the constant here? Yeah its kiffin not being a cool dude at all
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:40 pm
An insider by the name of WDR posting on http://www.raiderfans.net in the premium forum provided information last year that Al Davis and Lane Kiffin had come to an agreement Lane Kiffin was leaving the Raiders to take the Arkansas Head Coaching job. This was important information about an agreement between the two parties that had not been released to the public. A draft was made up to void Lane Kiffins contract so he could resign as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders in order to take the Arkansas head coaching position. WDR posted Lane Kiffin was extremely angry when Bobby Patrino was offered the job after he (lane Kiffin) had agreed to take the position. This was the exact draft leaked to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. This subject was made clear in the Raiders news conference by Mr. Al Davis. It was revealed to Mr. Al Davis by numerous sources that Lane Kiffin continued to actively pursue college head coaching positions while being employed by the Raiders organization. It was at this time the relationship between Lane Kiffin and Al Davis soured. It is no secret that Lane Kiffin was intending to pursue a college head coaching position at the end of this season. It is believed by many inside and outside of the Raiders organization including some members of the media that Lane Kiffin was trying to get fired, collect his money, then go off and get his college HC job.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Cable has to get Darren Mcfadden the ball 20 times, and Javon needs 10 touches. These two are the playmakers. They need the ball in the 2nd half at the very least. Javon can play. We overpaid for him, but he can still make plays. I feel Kiffin was trying to work around Javon to make his point about needing to practice hard to get the ball in the game. The thing is this is the NFL, players just don’t transfer to Jackson state or transfer and redshirt to another powerhouse, in the NFL they have contracts which makes it harder to move them. Knapp and Cable need to get him the ball.
Turf toe is not good, but LT has turf toe, and the chargers managed to feed him the ball 20 times. Guess what he took two of his last carries to the end zone for like 55 yards combined.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
With the debacle taking place in Oakland over the past few years (post Gruden), share holders (season ticket holders) should be reimbursed for poor managing performed by Al Bush-Enron Davis! Our hard earned money contributes to a mismanaged organization. I guess the fans aren’t important to Al Davis. And where is Amy Trask in all of this nonsense, probably looking for another job. Hey Bruce Allen, where are you when we need you; oh yeah, in Tampa winning games with Gruden.
The team wants to play and coach half a game - we should only pay half for our tickets. Have the owner, the over paid players and coaches make up the difference. We pay to see our investments perform as professionals – there are no professionals in Oakland.
For the first time in 40(+) years I am embarrassed for the organization – it is ridiculous. And don’t count on the league doing what is in the best interest of the team as they all are enjoying watching Al’s broken ship sink slowly – the captain will go down with his ship.
What’s next Al, a threat to leave Oakland? Like you, your tactics are played out – it’s time to realize you are the reason for failure in Oakland. Kiffin will join the ranks of Shanahan and Turner, coaches that will succeed in a true football organization while you try to control the next person in line – the “Cable Guy”. Look for them as play-off contenders while you try to coach a losing team from the suites. Too bad “Run-Run” passed away (RIP), you could’ve had him coach.
Hey season ticket holders, is it time for a class action suite against Al Davis and the organization?
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Al Davis= king and all that dont bow down should be beheaded immediately
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Brein,
your right. The word out of USC at the time we hired Kiff was that he was a prick and he had thrown fits over there undermining Norm Chow. In the end, Al failed to do his due dilligence and probably should have just forked over the 4 million or so it would have took to hire a Steve Marriuci. Insead Al went the cheap high risk- high reward route and now he looks foolish and kiffin proved to be an immature prick.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:54 pm
I’m not a big fan of Kiffin anymore.
I’m finally starting to see the light.
He had a year and a half to con Davis out of his managing general partner position the way Davis did Valley, and he just never could pull it off. Face it, he just couldn’t get it done. Here’s hoping Cable will.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:55 pm
Yeah Dick V….both Kiffin and Al looked bad in this but guess who is the boss and who isthe worker? Exactly so I’m siding with Al
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Just win and Al will leave you alone.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Charlie, it could also be that we are losing because the things going on inside of the organization are strange…unless you have a better reason for our losing. And remember, it didn’t start on Kiffin’s watch.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:56 pm
i like spaghetti
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Just win and Al will leave you alone? Yeh. Ask Gruden about that.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:59 pm
I’m mad at Kiffin because he couldn’t do to Al Davis what Al Davis did to Wayne Valley. That’s all I asked out of him. He had a year and a half. Total under-achiever. Screw him. Here’s hoping Cable can pull it off.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:00 pm
I have a ?. Why did the resignation letter get to ESPN if someone didnt want to get fired? Someone enlighten me on that?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Kiffin wanted to get fired because he knew there was no way he could wrestle control of the organization from Al, which is the only way any coach can win here. I don’t blame him for wanting to get fired at that point. But he should have tried harder. Kiffin should have stuck it out, worked with some of the other partners behind Al’s back, and found a way to legally remove Al Davis from the partnership at some midnight hour when Al was out of town. But, forget it. Lame is ancient history. Here’s hoping Cable can pull it off.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Brein,
Kiffin must shoulder the blame, but Al needs to change eitherway. I hope he is serious about hiring a GM to run operations. Scott Mcloughan will be the guy most likely: although Vernon Davis, Chilo Rachel, and Kentwan Balmer were all shaky picks. I think Nolan ran things for the vernon davis pick, but Chilo has Mcloughans name all over it.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:07 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:08 pm
Did you guys here Warren Sapp? ESPN’s been playing it all day. One word. Wow.
Davis still calling the sideline and putting in plays?
They had a defense set up to stop the run, with something like 10 in the box, with a coverage scheme where the backs could still stretch out and stop the pass, an awesome scheme, perfect for our personnel, and Davis pulled it? Said Ryan came into the room looking like someone shot his dog. Said Davis did things like that all the time. Ryan would build a defense, they would practice it, get it down perfect, then Davis would pull it.
Can’t blame Kiffin for those things.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:08 pm
MR
My point is that most of our problems start because we do not have enough talent on the field.
We need to address that problem immediately and Al acknowledged this problem thinking Kiffin knew college talent and that he would improve the draft process. Unfortunately the relationship did not work.
Our drafts in 2003 to 2005 crippled this team.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:10 pm
Charlie…..tsk…the problem is Al. Catch up.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:10 pm
SO-CAL’S… Tim Brown on AM570, NOW!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:10 pm
I think our passing game will improve over the next couple of weeks here is some info from Steve Sarkasian about USC’s passing game about Kiffin and the USC passing attack.
• Regarding USC’s Passing Attack & WR’s
We don’t utilize a passing tree in the strict sense. I mean we don’t describe our patterns with numbers as most schools do. We use names to define the route such as “Z Drive” or “Y Option”, etc. (There was an audience question about the Y option routes). Frankly we had to decrease usage of that particular play last year as we did not have a lot of receivers capable of reading the defense correctly and running that route. Those “dumb” passes where you see the ball thrown somewhere and no one is near by? Those are blown reads either by the QB or by a receiver who did not adjust and run the right route. Then everyone looks dumb and we wasted a down on those. Steve Smith was the only one capable last year for the WR group of consistently making these reads correctly. Desmond Reed was the only running back capable of running an option receiving route out of the backfield last year and he was not at full strength. The rest could not execute it without making mistakes in practice let alone games.
What that tells me is they rely on pure talent to beat the defense. Problem is that in the NFL everyone has talent. Kiffin will do very well in College. But i think the NFL game was just too different. Not his fault just a different game. I’m tired of all of the drama, just want to get back to watching football. Very disapointed with former Raiders crying to the media. I wonder how many times they actually go back to Oakland and talk to current players? Silver and Black used to be a family. damn shame really
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:11 pm
That’s why I hate Kiffin. He had a year and half to do to Al Davis what Al Davis did to Wayne Valley. Couldn’t pull it off. Too wet behind the years. Cable’s got experience, more friends. He can get to some of the partners, come up with a legal maneuver to finally rid this team if it’s real cancer, Al Davis.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:13 pm
DT42, Sapp went off, didn’t he?
Put the old man on blast.
Love Warren. Hope he keeps it up. You know he will, too.
And, it was a relief to here Gannon, our best football player in the past decade, speak out against Al, too.
The tide has turned on Al, and it’s about time.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:14 pm
post 58 sums it up
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:15 pm
PFT has a good take on Warren’s mouth. They said Randy Moss had no problem ripping the Raiders while he was here, why was Warren quiet the whole time and now , all of sudden, has no problem speaking his mind again. he has always ran his mouth, but he didn’t in Oakland: why not.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Anyone hear the audio clip of Al admitting he doesn’t know anything about Cable? Cable might be as much of a power monger as Kiffin, as far as Al knows. Let’s hope he is!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:15 pm
MR……..the truth with Gruden and Al is not known to many people. There were cool until after the AFC title game in 2000 when Al cussed him out in front of Jack Gruden. I’m in agreement with Al because no excuse to lose at home. Zack Crockett got on the radio the next week and talked about Gruden changing the gameplan saturday night. The Raiders were gonna use a bunch of 3 and 4 WR formations but Gruden too damn stubborn
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:16 pm
That pissed Al off because the only way to beat Baltimore was to spread them out. If anyone saw the Jets/Ravens season finale in 2000 Bmore was exposed but no one inthe playoffs did this
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Cable could be twice as power mongering as Kiffin was. Al wouldn’t know. Doesn’t know a thing about him. ESPN played an audio of Al telling Herrera that he doesn’t know anything about Cable. This is good. Al might have hired a head coach more power hungry than Gruden and Kiffin put together. That would awesome.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:18 pm
What can Sapp ever say? He did nada to help whether Al meddled or not. He stunk in Oakland and I was pissed to hear that big mouth was coming to Oakland
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Who cares MR……….Kiffin needed to go
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:18 pm
That would “be” awesome, I meant. Last sentence, comment 71.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Big deal al is crazy. This is something we all know
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Brien<—-content going down with a sinking ship
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I would love to see Cable cuss out Al like he does the O lineman… “Goddamn!t Al, pull your head out. That was a horrible fukin draft. Now get your a$$ there and do it again like this.”
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Brien, I agree, Kiffin needed to go. He had a year and a half to do to Al Davis what Al Davis did to Wayne Valley, and couldn’t pull it off. Total underachiever. Here’s hoping Cable can out do him. Al doesn’t know a thing about Cable. Admitted it. Hope Cable is twice as much of a power monger as Kiffin was. Hope he gets in good with some of the partners, and finds a way to rid this organization of it’s real cancer, Al Davis. Then, finally, we can win football games again.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:21 pm
DT42,
I think the passing game will improve because the games will be played on the field without an agenda. It is simple: get the ball to Walker and things will open up. Coverage will roll his way and Miller will have more room to operate, and Dmac will have more oneone matchups out the backfield with LB’s: where’s my damn wheel route to Dmac out of the backfield.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:21 pm
MR yeah Sapp did go off on him. Thats the problem with the Raiders as I see it (one of the problems). No Loyalty to the teammates that they left behind when the retired. Gannon blasts the team, Sapp blasts the team. Al’s always had a rep for being a players owner. So they couldn’t sit down with him (i think Gannon tried WAY more than Sapp.)I mean damn for Gannon i can understand some disconnect. Not a lot of players from his squad but Sapp? I have no respect for him.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:22 pm
Wasn’t the offense supposed to be more opened up last game with knapp splitting play calling? We passed much more than usual yet the offense still only put 16 points on the board. The team needs more talent, not play calling..
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Brien, Sapp was awesome. Did you hear him? Ripped Al probably harder than any former employee ever has. Gannon took a pretty hard shot, too. Marcus Allen is vindicated. Everyone is coming out against Al, now. Al’s facade is coming down. Finally.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
We all know that Cable will do what he is told by Al, fail, and then haul ass.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Dick V .80
Here, here.
Walker makes the passing game legit.
They look like a diff offense when he’s in there…for 2 plays.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm
so, the MR show is on again.
good luck with that Nation. till a later time
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm
DT42, Sapp only needs to be loyal to his own family and friends. Doesn’t owe Davis a thing.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Dick V, good point. I just think that Kiffin must have freaked out when he realized that his WR’s just couldn’t run over everybody else. I’d love to see the Wheel route out of the backfield for McFadden. we have the best group of RB’s in the league and maybe even some Wildcat formation just for fun. (Let Russell smack a DB for fun he’s built like a TE!!)
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm
MR: Al has the backing of the Raider Nation again as you can see….they fell for his pack of lies. Al is on top again in the eyes of the Nation. What a great P.R. stunt.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:26 pm
DT42, do you know the history as to how Davis acquired his managing general partner title? Study it, then you might understand why people who rip Al don’t feel sorry for him.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:26 pm
MR he owes his former teammates something, they never called him out for that crap run defense he had when he mailed it in his last year in the league.

Copenahagan, Al was caught on audio admitting he doesn’t know the first thing about Cable. Cable is Kiffin’s friend. First thing he said in his introduction speech, that a friend has been fired. Cable could be twenty times the power monger that Kiffin was. Let us hope!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:28 pm
SacRaider…….finally last game Knapp split playcalling duties. I dont really like Knapp but he does have NFL experience. We outta see the offense look a little better. I’m not expecting the 2001 rams offense here
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Cop I noticed…….march on
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm
DT42, I haven’t heard any of Sapp’s former teammates express a problem with anything he said. He ripped Al, not his teammates. Sapp owes Davis nothing. Period.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm
MR i live in Texas it ain’t nothing that JJ in Dallas hasn’t pulled, or George Bush using public funds to build the Ballpark in Arlington etc. Find me an honest owner in any sport and that would be the first i’ve ever seen. And yes i know the story about how Al became the managing general partner. I bleed Silver and Black.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Why do people want to bounce when MR is in here? MR is funny
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 pm
DT42, comment 98; All the more reason to get rid of Al.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:30 pm
MR…Cable is going to do what Al tells him to do and then get whacked when yet another losing season culminates in a melt down.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm
I hate both Al and Kiffin now. They failed to win…winning is the only thing that counts.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Sapp’s figured out how this media works. Its not by the validity of what you say, its s popularity contest.
“name recognition” among focus groups of sheeple is what dictacte your “value”.
He’s all about the $’s.
His Al bashing is like biting the hand.
Your welcome you no run stoppin’ selfish twinkle toes.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
of course they won’t say anything Sapp’s not even a true Raider, He’s a Buc! He grabbed a paycheck from the Raiders and never produced. My point is that there was a time when athletes didn’t cry to the media all of the time. Sapp was talking up Kelly when we re-signed him. He never complained when he was with the team. Now in between dance lessons he grew some balls? spare me.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
.99 Yup.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
I’ve always hated Warren Sapp, I got escorted out of the coliseum in 2004 for cussing him out when I knew we were gonna lose to the chargers
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Nobody owes Al Davis anything. He’s a fraud.
Al Davis only brought in black players early in his career as an edge over other teams not willing to sign them. It was about winning, not equality. It wasn’t for black people. Al could piss on the civil rights movement. He’s a right winger. Admires Hitler. Models the Raiders after the Third Reich (especially in-house, as we’ve seen….).
Al conned Wayne Valley into his managing general partner position.
Al sympathizers are pathetic. Totally lost.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm
MR, so whats your solution after you get rid of Al? what franchise are we modeling ourselves over.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Working sucks…I should move to Europe.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Sapp is a bog mouthed loser. I hate when fat people think they are hot shhhhhit
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Dakota better looking chicks without fat too !!!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Dakota lol………..the series aint over yet man!!!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Sapp’s awesome. Totally spoke his mind. He’s not the first person to accuse Al Davis of the things he did. Just more testimony, coming from more and more former players. It’s about time. Big kudos to Rich Gannon and Warren Sapp. Believe me, more are to come. This is only the start.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:38 pm
yeah well Copenhagen you winthere……..also dont forget the good attitudes
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:39 pm
MR what would your life consist of if you didn’t bash Al all day?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:39 pm
MR…all of the former players that are Al detractors are liars and have no sense of loyalty! They are not REAL Raiders….all 100 of them!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:40 pm
al Davis is king of the world……all haters kneel and kiss the pinky ring of Al
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:40 pm
I don’t care that much about baseball, but my Dad is a 67 year old Cubs fan…and it would really mean a lot to him if they could win the WS.
Hope he is taking his flaxseed oil, because he better hang around for at least another year the way things are going for the Cubs right now.

Loyalty is everything…………ask Marcus Allen that
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:40 pm
DT42, plans after getting rid of the cancer:
Contact Ron Wolf, have him set things up for a year or two, then have him name his eventual successor. That’s would I would do. Ron built all of those great Raider teams, anyway. So, essentially, we’d be modeling the Raiders after the Raiders.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Brien..the good sexually liberated attitudes man……and they love it hard …..
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Most dont know the real beef with Al and Marcus
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Marcus was an illoyal Raider because he pounded O.J.’s wife…
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Lombardi is also speaking out against Al. If it was just one person, like Sapp, then you could chalk it up to a disgruntled former employee/player. But the more people who tell how bad it is with Al as the god, the more likely it is to be true..
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Fellas,
it time to drop the Nation Collective affiliation. Did that damn website ever go up?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Tim Brown, said that Sapp was “exaggerating”. About Al being stuck in the 70s & 80s, and calling from the box.
Also, said that Sapp was here just for the $$$$
ASO ON JIM ROME TV SHOW NOW
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Al Davis is the king of a crumpled empire, and the only ones kissing anything of his are the reject players he signs to huge deals and Herrera and Taylor…(and some fools in here too).
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:43 pm
#107 True dat.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:43 pm
lol@reject players he signs to huge deals
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Nation Collective…..nice comment, I don’t think that anyone is doubting that the Al and the organization has issues and problems but again what did Warren Sapp ever do to help the Raiders, when did he make a play for us? And again i’m asking anyone talk solutions Al retires drops dead or whatever then what? we go undefeated the next season? Kiffin was gonna lead us to the playoffs. your the GM what do you do who stays who goes.

DT42 Sapp had that one good year he had 10 sacks?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Jethro? you went to college??! NICE!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:46 pm
Tim Brown= raider………damn shame how most on here loved Rice more than Timmy and disrespected him by waering that b*tch’s jersey at games
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:46 pm
I think BHP probably pounded O.J.’s wife too, that’s why he’s an insider.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Jim Rome is a prick….but I would rather he own the team then Crazy Al.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Tim Brown rocks! Sapp sucks
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Sac Raider,
PFT has nice piece on Lombardi and the Raiders as well as the one with Sapp.
Lombardi did not have a contract and he was let go due to his fued with Shell: they both shamed themselves. Lombardi filed a grievance against the Raiders and park ave just laughed at him and said he has no case because he didn’t have a contract.
you can beleive Lombardi if you want, but PFT has backed the Raiders on both instances and they are consistently onjective: Florio is a lawyer by trade.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Fuk fairy rice!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Hi brien!,…Im headin to the river with my dog again here in a bit,..bringing a 40, a couple Norcos, and a roach…should make for a nice walk.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Lombardi never seemed to have contracts…and always gets fired ha ha…
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Copenhagen your Jehtro comment would be appropraite if I was from the south but I grew up in California…..so try again
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Tim Brown also said, in so many words that, Lombardi is a tool.
Go to: am570.com/loosecannons they should have the Tim Brown interview up soon, for pod cast.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
take the whole blunt dude
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Brien..shiiiit bubba, Jethro lived in Beverly Hills !
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Chris Clemons had 8 sacks and was cheaper and younger. i miss him more than Sapp
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
I’m fresh out of blunt……gotta head to Christiania soon!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Crazy Al should not waste a minute in bringing in Tim Brown back to Oakland in whatever capacity Tim wants to be in…replace Mike Taylor with him would be perfect.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pm
DT42 Chris Clemmons is like 3rd string in Philly dude?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pm
bob always!!!
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Yeah, but working without a contract is Lombardi’s own fault. I really doubt he’d make stuff up now that is consistent with what has been said about Al for years. I’m not saying Lombardi is a good guy, just the law of probabilities here. The more people that get behind a claim, the more likely it is to be true..
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:52 pm
Jethro was a white guy from the south originally. I’m neither so try again
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:52 pm
brien…dave and I might be at Pats game sunday,..you around?..interested?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:52 pm
another thing on Lombardi: he screwed his rep by saing he never wanted Shell and he always wanted Petrino. Hell Petrino was a bigger snake than Kiffin. Auther Blank is a good man, and has a history of taking care of his people. Petrino gave him the D1ck.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Bob I’m going to jail no way. i’ll watch the pats whip ass at home drunk off tequila
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:54 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:54 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:55 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:55 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:55 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:55 pm
al did the right thing stiffing Marcus Allen……..he put al in a bad spot
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:56 pm
408 he reported that Branch’s cast is off and Aso is playing with some sort of protection on his elbow.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:57 pm

October 3rd, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Nothing wrong with being a white boy from the sticks…
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Marcus Allen was screwing everyone’s wife on the team and did the same thing at USC. He even did his idol’s wife. Damn shame!!! He even smashed on one of Al Davis’ family member. This is why al said in 1994 i hope Marcus gets onthe stand so people cna see what kind of character he really has
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:57 pm
jail
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
copenhagen……..thats the thing I’m a black guy from the city
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Sac Raider,
But i have also heard former cowboys gm Gil Brandy say that Al gets a bad rap and does a good job running the Raiders. Gil is a friend of Al’s of course, but he is by far one of the most respected talent evaluators in the business. Many gm’s and media outlets use him to grade draft prospects. John Madden also is taking Al’s side: both Gil and John Madden are repscted by everyone. Warren Sapp and Lombardi both have their critics.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
thanx cope
anything else worth noteing?
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Marcus was greedy after hoochie
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Oops, my bad. That would be, am570radio.com/loosecannons for the Tim Brown interview.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm
408 Jerry basically said that he had indeed been critical of Kiffin’s “people skills” and that he did the wrong thing be airing his garbage in the press.
He also said he was ok with Cable and that he expected him to have a more balanced offense.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm
i also wanted to go to santa clara,…couldnt get in,..san jose state was great though,…wish they wouldnt call me once a month for a donation though.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Brown said Sapp is “exaggerating”. Why not say Sapp was flat out wrong? If Davis has sent so much as one play down to the field in recent years, he’s still insane and needs to be removed. So for Timmy to say that Sapp was merely exaggerating as opposed to outright saying he was wrong, it doesn’t go far to debunk Sapp’s claims. As far as Sapp going to Oakland for the money? Big whoop. Ask Tampa Bay about Tim Brown’s performance in ‘04. They had to be wondering if he was just there for the check, too.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:02 pm
allen was banging Mr Davis daughter?
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Brien ok thanks for the racial and demographic profile update dude ha ha

October 3rd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
408 I never heard al having a daughter but someone who worked for the A’s said it was someone close to Al Davis in the family and that broke the camel’s back. Marcus just smacks em on every chick possible. I mean I feel him on one end but damn not your teammates guy
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Brien, telling stories of getting laid in a football blog comments section is so cool. We all really believe you. We really do. Seriously.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
and if you’ve never read “Soul On Ice” then I’m going to have to call you Jethro until you do bro’
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
late BOB
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:09 pm
I guess Madden wasn’t that good of a coach since Al sent down the plays for him to call. Also that 2002 season offense was straight out of the Al Davis playbook from the 70s. Im sure Al thought Seabass could make a 75yrd FG and radioed that down too.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:09 pm
MR………..shhhhhhhhhh we arent talking about how much you hate al right now……we will get back to that in a sec
Copenhagen……..I’d rather not discuss Eldrige Cleaver for many many reasons okay
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:09 pm
MR he’s talking about Marcus…that’s football related.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Now “Soul on Ice” by Ras Kass we are talking
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Brien I mean hoe’s cant live without d!ck some cats are just scandalous tho.. U sure I thought mark “the truck wilson” was with big al’s daughter.. I could be wrong tho
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Brien, there were so many carousers on that team, and most of them probably did bang daughters and wives of team execs. Al’s beef with Marcus was between him and Wolf. Al wanted to believe that it was him building the great teams. He didn’t want Marcus. Wolf did. Al wanted Marcus to fail to prove Wolf wrong. He didn’t. That’s what it was all about. Every excuse Al used from that point on were red herrings. The injures, Marcus’s carousing. LOL on the latter. If Al really had a problem with that, he would have had to cut the whole team.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Can’t call me Jethro Copenhagen……….I’m living a life of a black male in America. Me and Jethro are quite different because it is a made up character whose family struck it rich. My family is poor and have always been

October 3rd, 2008 at 2:16 pm
To best explain the Marcus situation,
take the movie Trading Places.
Marcus is Billy Ray Valentine.
Al Davis is Mortimer, and Ron Wolf is Randolph.
Except, they don’t bet a dollar. They’re just betting for pride.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:17 pm
MR you still bitter about me making fun of you last week? I apologize seriously if I ever hurt your feelings……….so MR how is the dating scene going in Sactown?

October 3rd, 2008 at 2:19 pm
I”ll admit, I’m going by what Marcus said in his book.
You’re going by, what, what you heard from some guy who heard from another guy who took out Al’s garbage for one season in the early ’80s? Come on.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:19 pm

MR you live in Sac…..talk about your Sacramento life………..hows it going?
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:23 pm

MR……you outta come out tonight to SJ. Mission Alehouse got work all day my boy
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:25 pm
New Orleans is a tough place to play. So many distraction. When I went there for MNF with the Raider boosters, on Sunday night the team had a 11:00 p.m. curfew. At 1:00 A.M. Bob Golic and six or seven other Raiders were partying on Bourbon St. Last I saw of them was at Brennigans at 3:00 A.M. Next night, we got cha chinged. The Saints sat us next to the air conditioners at the top of the Superdome. Pizza Hut delivered.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Lol now MR is leaning on Marcus Allen who was in the sexual, drug induced company of Nicole, O.J., and Al Cowlings during his time with the Raiders. I remeber a reporter asked Davis what he thought about Marcus’s involvement with the Simpsons and Al Cowlings? Davis said he thought more would have come out in the trial. If Allen was rumored to like white women Davis sure did hit the nail on the head calling that one.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Hey MR we all think you are deep down you have a good soul but let it go with al man. Guy is not going anywhere for at least 10 years. Just live with it
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Sith Lord, you seem to have a problem with interracial dating.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:27 pm
sith…….that’s all Marcus messed with. I use to see this chick when I went to school at CSUN whose mom use to go clubbing back in 80s when the Raiders were in town, she told me Marcus is not messing with black women at all. His choice it is a free country…….weell use to be
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:27 pm
I enjoy women of all colors and persuasions.
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Brien, I enjoy Al being here. The Raiders losing part sucks, but he’s fun to mock, and his supporters are especially fun to mock.
