Halftime: Saints 10, Raiders 3
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, October 12th, 2008 at 11:22 am in Oakland Raiders.
Scoring
NO–Reggie Bush 4-yard run (Taylor Mehlhaff kicks PAT), 3:45
NO–Mehlhaff 44-yard field goal, :50
Notes:
– A 35-yard gain on a shallow cross from JaMarcus Russell to Johnnie Lee Higgins go the Raiders to the New Orleans 40, but an offensive pass inteference call on Ashley Lelie pushed Oakland back, and they eventually called on Sebastian Janikowski to miss from 59 yards with six seconds left in the half.
Russell was 6-for-15 for 83 yards at the half, with four different receivers catching passes. Drew Brees was 17-for-19 for 196 yards with completions to eight different receivers. Brees hit Billy Miller for a 25-yard strike deep in Oakland territory as time expired, with the Saints unable to call time out before the clock ticked to zero.
– Tom Cable’s decision to attempt a long-distance field goal put the ball back in the hands of Drew Brees with 1:48 to play in the half. Two completions later, the Saints were at the 18-yard line and Brees was 16-for-16 for 171 yards.
– Brees finally misfied on a circle route out of the backfield to Reggie Bush, with Jon Alston in coverage and apparently turning at the last instant to avoid a pass interference penalty.
Brees then threw incomplete on a blown route, forcing Mehlhaff to kick 44-yard field goal.
– The Raiders squandered more good field position after Taylor Mehlhaff kicked off out of bounds, driving from their own 40 to the Saints 39 before Janikowski was wide left on a 57-yard field goal attempt.
Oakland’s lone first down came on an 11-yard scramble by Russell. Russell threw incomplete to a tightly-covered Walker down the left sideline inside the 20 on third-and-7.
– The Saints converted four third downs and ate up 10:59 of clock time with an 86-yard, 14-play drive which resulted in Bush’s touchdown on third-and-goal from the 4.
On the previous play, a free down in which Kalimba Edwards jumped offsides from third-and-goal from the 7, Brees actually threw incomplete to Bush _ his first incompletion erased by penalty.
Brees was 14-for-14 for 136 yards following the drive, which also included back-to-back runs totaling 16 yards by Deuce McAllister. His 14 completions went to seven different receivers.
– The second quarter open with Russell sailing a 65-yard rocket with a flick of the wrist, incomplete to Ashley Lelie, forcing a Shane Lechler punt. He finished the first quarter 4-for-9 for 39 yards and was fortunate in that two potential interceptions were dropped, including one in the end zone preceding Janikowski’s field goal.

We’re 30 minutes into the Cable era, and here are the results:
- 10 minutes of possession
- 3 points
- Offense: 114 total yards
- Defense: 237 yards given up
You were right, Team Blame Kiffin. I bow to you.

October 12th, 2008 at 11:24 am
Looks like Kiffin is still the coach. Low points, extra long FG attempts, no defense. Good job Al!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:24 am
Russell will throw many picks with Kanpp calling plays.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Stupid people, Cable is coaching kiffys pathetic offense that he bought in
October 12th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Saints have got to have some bad karma somewhere. They owned the Minnesota game last week and lost and they own this game but are barely ahead of us.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Alisgod - The offense also kept the defense off the field with their running game. Our offense would get into a red zone territory often but they weren’t able to get TD’s so they would settle for field goals. With that being said, we controlled the clock and we put points on the board. We weren’t perfect along the stretch but we helped keep the defense off the field and they were more effective because of it. With us passing the ball and having alot of incompletions, too much time is being left on the clock and the defense isn’t getting enough of a rest.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Our receivers do not get open for Russell. Teams to shut down our TE and we cannot beat you on the outside.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:26 am
first pick in the 2009 draft the raiders seleck punter bob wilkins laney community
October 12th, 2008 at 11:26 am
LOL! I’ll let you have the next one, Priest. I don’t think I can keep watching this crap. I have relatively low blood pressure and want to keep it that way.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:26 am
M ryan > Russell
October 12th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Kalimba edwards jumpin off sides on 3rd down hurt…we’re in the game against an average D and gettin the ball back…let’s go O !!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:28 am
Cable’s bonehead fieldgoal attempt led directly to NO field goal. That was horrible as we struggle to score and giving away a field goal is plain stupid football.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:28 am
MR… how ya doin?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:28 am
the sad part is it’s difficult to care anymore.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:28 am
Stupid Unknown, Cable is coaching the same bad players that Al brought in. You just don’t get it, man. Five years from now, this team will still be bad and you’ll keep blaming Kiffin. Get real.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:28 am
Jano should have made those kicks. Plunkett your a moron.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Cable in Locker room; Alright guys forget about the first half. Let go out there and play like it is the start of the game.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:30 am
cable, kiffin, lofton, cohwer raiders still win 2.
2-14
October 12th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Breaking News:
Kiffin spotted in luxury box for Saints/Raider Game calling the offensive plays, and laughing it up with Al Davis!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:31 am
like seeing a mobile pocket and the play-action….JR needs to stop locking in, that takes time and experience….
October 12th, 2008 at 11:31 am
I can see how Cable was 11-35. We need more Shillens/Higgins and less Leilie/ Wlaker.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:32 am
hey Huff, we controlled the clock with our Offense…please go find the stats to back up your claim…you’re so dumb. How many times did we start our O in the other team’s half and go with a FG. it happened in KC, Buffalo and SD. It should have never been close if we had a decent offense this season. How many times did you hear the announcer say they have to get a TD here. I’ll break it down for you.
In KC, the D dominated but the O couldnt score enough to put the game away. the game was close enough that KC actually had a chance to tie it up late in the 4th quarter.
In Buffalo, look at our time of possession.
In SD, look at our time of possession.
Go dig it up son. Go look up our time of possession and come back in here and brag your knowledge. Bet you can’t find it. Real easy. NFL.com ok?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:32 am
I think they can match last years record, 4-12
October 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Our receivers do not get open for Russell. Teams to shut down our TE and we cannot beat you on the outside.
What game are you watching???
Miller was WIDE OPEN on the first drive and the #1 bust over threw him. JR has all the time in the world to throw …no pressure … BUT has NO IDEA where or who to throw the ball to.
How in the world was he a #1 pick. Yes is has the STRONGEST arm in the NFL to bad he has the smallest brain in the NFL.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am
LOOKS LIKE WE SCREWED UP THE DRAFT AGAIN. SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CALVIN JOHNSON INSTEAD OF RUSSELL….AND MATT RYAN INSTAED OF MCFADDEN.
WE ARE SCREWED UNTIL AL TAKES HIS HANDS OFF OF THIS TEAM
October 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am
CRUCIAL half time adjustments. We’ve suffered here this season.
McFadd’s not up to par or will we see him at QB this half?
How about walker? Will he be a factor?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Did you guys miss the article some where that Knapp calls the plays. They game plan during the week but Knapp calls the plays…jeeezzzz
October 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am
You won’t see a mobile pocket or play action out of a shotgun. Not long ago the Raiders never used a predictable shotgun formation until it became Kiffin’s moronic idea, dump the shotgun now.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am
let’s hope Al errrrr Cable was able to make some halftime adjustments!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:34 am
real raider fans accept we have 6 losing seasons in a row, and blindly follow al davis.
al washed, cause brains u dont.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:34 am

Good Run back Higgens
October 12th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Fargas, the one bright spot for us!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:35 am
so you “real raider fans” how many games we win???
October 12th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Here comes Bush!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Cable coached at Idaho the first year they made the jump into Division 1 football…not many schools are successful when making that leap,,and btw idaho football still stinks
October 12th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Blachholepontificator,
Maybe the cave man rips Al in half too.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:37 am
Gannon said we have no production
October 12th, 2008 at 11:37 am
Huff…
Did you watch the Saints game last week? Their D shut down the run against the Vikings.
The Raiders have to find a way to throw the ball to win against defenses like this.
Good learning experience for Russell. He has to throw the ball to learn.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:37 am

October 12th, 2008 at 11:38 am
The Saints will score a TD here. That was a crap possession.

Post #68, LMFAO! I think that went over some heads.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:43 am
Defense still can’t get any pressure.
That has more to do with the time of possession than the Raiders’ offense.
I have Brees in my fantasy league. He has been doing this all season.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:44 am
If you guys haven’t noticed yet, the Raiders offense is derailed: No McFadden, No Bush, just Fargas?
McFadden may have only gotten 3 touches so far this game. With Kiffin he would’ve surely gotten a lot more than that - so would Bush. How can you not give your game changer more carries or touches?
Cable screwed up with that FG attempt too. Way too much time on the clock to try that from that distance. (in all fairness, i can’t say with confidence Kiffin would not have done the same)
Anyone notice the defense went back to being soft even without Burgess and no pass rush. At least Kiffin would’ve btched until Ryan sent the dogs.
Either these WRs suck or the passing game sucks - take your pick. Javon is a huge waste of $$$.
LOOKS LIKE AL DAVIS F’KED UP AGAIN!!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Other team developing young Qbs
Raiders have a statue qb Rusell
What hapened to that athlectic QB coming out of LSU?

October 12th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Al called a better defensive game against the Bolts. He is not sharp today.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Why won’t Gannon talk about his Superbowl performance?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Defense burnt out already
October 12th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Wow you press, and almost get a pick…..
October 12th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Al is still trying to rid the team of the Lombardi drafts.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Gannon conspired with Gruden in that Super Bowl. Everybody knows that.

Raiders D is over aggressive.
How many screens have the Saints ran today? They have been successful most of the time.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Well, now you know. The Bills and Chargers suck. The Chiefs really, REALLY suck.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Sorry to see Cable leave after the season
And raiders start over
Again
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
HO WHEN THE SAINTS GOING MARCHING IN
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Mistabrown, what you get in the middle of the first round is a solid starter. Not an all-pro slot, there. And that’s what we got. Most of the players took below him in the first that year aren’t even in the league anymore. If you want to talk about BAD picks, Gallery, McFadden, and Russell are failures when they don’t make the Pro Bowl. Huff blows chunks. TOP TEN should be a difference maker. But you’re set on blaming a kicker, not the offense or defense, and far be it from me to change you.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
we are playing with less heart than any game under kiffin
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Al Davis
You have to go vertical Tom Cable
J Rusell is a great Qb, well make him great
What a moron
October 12th, 2008 at 11:47 am
Looks liek the Raiders need to start over. It will be a welcome change.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:48 am
need a drive here…
October 12th, 2008 at 11:48 am
Where’s Katrina when you need her?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:48 am
The will to win is the fire that burns the brighest at Raider headquarters according to Al…The only Fire ablaze at Raider headquarters is in Al’s prostate.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:49 am
defense only needed to get a few 3 and outs in the bills and san diego games in the 2nd half of those games and we win. they just rested for 17 min. and couldt get the job done. there not tired they just dont stop anyone.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:49 am
We will win. The fire that burns brightest in the building is the one they use to check my bunghole for mold and decay spores every day!

October 12th, 2008 at 11:53 am
Terrapin the Raiders offense was just as big of a joke as the defense versus the Broncos, that glue your using is not good for you.

Wow, that vertical passing game is really working wonders. Good thing we got rid of Kiff and his “conservative” play-calling! Back to the good old days of no discipline, no structure, no scheme. Thanks Al.

October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am

October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
russell has more starts than ryan. russell is not that good or he has been tinkered with so much that his cofidenxe is screwed up.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
Kiffin had a sound strategy with Russell. Knapp and Cable are not Kiffin.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
Or this becomes a blow out? LOL! Dude, it’s a blow out already. It may be only 14 points, but look at the yardage and TOP. This is a completely lopsided game.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
Where is Michael Bush? JMac might as well be alexander Graham Bell the way he is telegraphing his throws.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
another 3 and out. kiffin must be calling the plays still
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
Really, really dead.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
int by russell go fgure.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:54 am
The offense sucked but they never quit! Go back and watch! They never quit. The defense quit on Rob Ryan and that was clear as day!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Now it’s a blow out in points.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:55 am
AL DAVIS, ROB RYAN AND JAMARCUS RUSSELL ARE RUNNING THIS ORGANIZATION IN TO THE GROUND.
WE WASTED $60 MILLION ON THAT LOSER RUSSELL.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Raiders sure like Punishment
October 12th, 2008 at 11:55 am
And thats a wrap folks….
October 12th, 2008 at 11:55 am
The Raiders linebackers suck.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:56 am
Where’s Brien at to tell us how awful Kiffin was? Big Al’s Goon, where did you go? You wanted Kiffin fired, don’t run from that now. You Al Davis sycophants are a bigger joke than Al Davis himself. Here’s to another week of being roasted in the media.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:56 am
That hind ti t must taste good. The Raiders seem to like it there.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:56 am
Russel would probably be better if he had at least one real WR to throw to plus at least one real offensive lineman to block.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:56 am
I drove on that musical road that honda created!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:56 am
And to think Cable is thinking to have an 8-8 record this year
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
Trade Fargas and Bush for a D- cordinator
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
Now we have to throw. More INT’s on the menu please! I am not upset anymore. I expect bad play from the Raiders now. They have not given us a reason to believe anything else for the last six years. No matter who we draft or sign it is the same story. I gotta go mulch my yard. That will be more exciting than this game
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
the neighbors wre pissed!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
It would be 34-3 with Kiffin still cochaing.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
As A Raider Fan this is so disheartening. When the raiders be a competitive football team? Six is too long. I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
Raider Nation
This blowout is actually good
It will really put the heat on Al Davis
Something good has to come out of this
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
I guess you fools prefer competitive losses kiffy bought to the table!! Fools
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
thats how I drink my coffee
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
I agree, BHP. Some so called “fans” here can’t see the obvious improvements but us real fans can. Sure, the score isn’t looking good but you can definitely notice a better offensive tempo. We’re throwing that ball more and that will intimidate defenses. We’re on our way up.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:57 am
Then quit being a fan.

Man, I hated those 4th quarter leads under Kiffin. That conservative game plan of his really sucked. I like these blowout in the 3rd quarter much better.
Russell should have been picked off 5 times already in this game. Thank god we opened things up!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 12th, 2008 at 11:58 am
can they switch our game to the jets game?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Who can fire Al Davis?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:58 am
The offense is totally derailed. The defense lacks aggression AGAIN!! At least Kiffin bitcehed enough to get Ryan to blitz despite Davis.
Minimal McFadden - No Micheal Bush …throwing the damn ball with suspect WRs ….anybody think Kiffin actually knew what he was doing?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Those 4th quarter leads were in spite of Kiffin not because of him.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:58 am
going into the game we were probably the second worst team in the NFL behind KC.i would have to say we are now the worst!

I suppose it was Kiffin fault the D can’t stop anyone? Oh, wait, can’t blame him anymore right?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
And remember, everyone, it’s going to take Cable a while to learn the offense and really know how to design profiles. He’s learning on a fly. The object now is to rid ourselves of the Kiffin stench, and that’s what we’re doing. We’re a better team now. You just have to look hard to see it. …Real hard.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Ravens are loosing worse than the Raiders.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
I quess the Grim Reaper is the only one
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Ryan and Knapp have no clue.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
…we are stuck with this BIG DUMB SPEARCHUCKER for YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS AL !
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
There’s uptempo INT #1…Russell should have 3 INTs already. Cable is well on his way to messing up all Kiffins work with Russell.
Has Tom Cable been fired yet?
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Maybe I was wrong about Lance. He knew that JR would throw lots of int’s if he threw lots. Kiffin didn’t know that the Saints DB’s could only catch one of 6. Just 3 and out baby! We need to open it up and get ballanced and go vertical.
October 12th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Russy wouldnt have thrown that pick under kiffy. He would have only 3 attempts so far. lol

In fact, you might need a microscope to see it. But I don’t need one. I’m a real fan and I always have the rose colored glasses on. This his honestly the best Raider team I’ve ever seen. Cable is obviously a better coach than Kiffin. Al still has it.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
No Oakglen…we can’t hang with certain teams in the league… Denver, Cowgirls, Saints are some of those teams…The upper tier offense gives us fits.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
yeah Al fired the right guy! The defense is not only looking gassed but also confused! NO has made their adjustments but also doing what other teams have done– going no huddle, quick snaps counts etc. Hall is not worth the money his bonus is printed on!! Hall only made one play on the drive previous to the interception ( which was bound to happen, JR is staring down his receivers!!). Its already out of hand and showing up in the 4 th q will not make a difference. ? when will we win al?
October 12th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
This just in:
Al Davis has announced a press conference scheduled for the post game. Reports are that he will fire Tom Cable as head coach and hire Vince Lombardi’s corpse to coach the Raiders.

rob ryan is disgusting..take a little pride in ur work u fat f*ck.
his father must b ashamed.

I am so flippin’ sick of hearing of JaSuckus improvement, only a rookie, only 6th start, etc!!!!This guy flat out SUCKS!!!! He’s the only thing keeping us from staying in/winning these games!!!
We got WAAAYYY more production last year from those losers McClown and DC! Think about it…
October 12th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
run the ball down 20, wow
October 12th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Bye, Dakota. Real fans only today. I only want to celebrate our obvious improvement over the Kiffin era with real fans. So take it to a whiner board, you little dick.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Got to hand to the team, always trying to comeback in the 4th quarter, better late than never I quess

October 12th, 2008 at 12:05 pm

October 12th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
2-14? Where the hell do you see another win coming?
As for me, I’m salivating more and more every week over Michael Crabtree. The Bengals, Texans, Lions and Rams need to get with the program and start winning some games!
October 12th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
This is all I have to say as far as my comments:
I think the worst college team could beat the Raiders to day.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
With Cable we are unable…..
to play defense and sustain a drive on offense!
October 12th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Raider0525, we can go deep. We’ve been going deep all day. Matters not rather we catch the ball. The bottom line is to go deep, that’s it. I blog!
October 12th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Ill admit we were better with kiffy by 5 games. lol
October 12th, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Ooops. Didn’t know that was an Oakglenn troll, lol. Sounded pretty dumb, so I thought it was the real Oakglenn.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Maybe Kiffin was protecting JR???? I just assumed that since he could throw it 85 yards he was a great QB. Knapp calls plays so much better that Lane just gets different results.
And the Raiders will punt the ball. LOL!
October 12th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Hey look at that….run, run, incomplete pass, run, run, incomplete pass, run, incomplete pass, incomplete pass, run, incomplete pass.
Way to mix it up Cable, maybe by week 10 you’ll figure out what Kiffin already knew….

I think Rob Ryan is feeding all the receivers fried chicken before the games, I have never seen so many dropped balls by professionals in my life. I can’t wait for the Rob Ryan presser this week. “OK, OK I take it all back, Al Davis did call the defense against Denver and New Orleans, I quit, Mangini call me.”
October 12th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
Too bad that Charger troll isn’t around to point out what a myopian you are, Oakglenn. You’re delusional if you think this team looks better. This is the worst the Raiders have looked since week 1.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
I can’t wait for he presser tomorrow. LOL. I can already see it!
Cable:” Well we went to the game and thought we would come out 1-0, but I was talking about the next game”
“We miss Kiffin, sure we do”
“I want my wobbie”
October 12th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
They’re running up the score. Big time. Coaches are a fraternity. First prong of Payton’s plan was to win the game. Second prong is to get payback for Kiff. It’s on now.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
Hate to say it but we get another top 5 draft pick. Nice going Uncle Al. Another great decision - blame Kiffin! Well, you’ve been exposed AGAIN. Kiffin was our hope get get back to respectability and you trashed that so your ego could get stroked.
Our WR’s in total SUCK! Walker is a BUST. Curry is a #3 at best. JLH is a special teamer (KR/PR) or perhaps a #3 slot receiver. The defense is well, you figure it out. JR is coming along but I’m convinced what Kiffin was grooming will be destroyed by the end of this season.
Next year Cable, Rathman & Knapp will all be in Seattle with Mora. Ryan will be gone unless you make him Head Coach. That’s a lose-lose decision. Face it Al you’ve SCREWED us royally!
Just hire a GM and retire to your VCR and watch old 60, & 70’s game films. That’s the game you understand. And by the way, Huff sucks too!
October 12th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
This is a damn shame. We look so bad that all the announcers can do is talk about Lechler.
Cable/Knapp have no clue how to use these RBs. What happened to the substitutions?
Anyone of these boys recognized that when they started running it on that drive we were moving the ball with ease? The Saints cannot contain our RBs. But I forgot we HAVE to pass it.
I have no problem with passing it but Kiffin proved and Cable is proving now again that we don’t have the WR to do it. Play to your damn strength not your weakness. Playing to your weakness results in a 30+ to 3pts blowout!!!
October 12th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
I turned it off, this is a fuccing joke to watch this sh*t. I bet I’m not a true fan…fuc you guys
October 12th, 2008 at 12:11 pm

that’s the cost (long plays) when the blitz doesn’t get there in time…speedy receiver one-on-one w/ a Safety…

NO is averaging 406 yards of offense per game.
They shut down the run last week when playing the Vikings.
Their D is only giving up an average of 107 rushing yards per game.
Raiders can’t run on this team and they can’t play defense.
That is a recipe for disaster.

They become revelant just like that.
What happens when Al Davis coaches the raiders and is the GM.
They loose year after year after year after…
October 12th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Payton is trying to embarrass Davis now. He’s still passing when the game is in the bag.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
This is payback for Kiffin, big time. Saints can run the ball every down the way the Raiders offense is playing. But PAyton’s still calling deep passing plays. The coaches are a fraternity, I’m telling you. We can expect this all year.
October 12th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
so I guess the question will be how long will Cable last????? The answer is how long will he blow Davis? Once things start to fall apart will Cable keep him large mouth shut???? He does not look like a head coach
