Orinda is a low tax city with lots of trees and hills that people like to look at, but not a huge amount of retail stores to bring in the sales tax dollars. For better or worse, having businesses that sell stuff is the way to have money to fix potholes. That’s the way the state set things up. Look at Concord. There’s way less green hills in town, but they take pride in having money to fix up their streets.

Thanks for pointing this out! Orinda’s roads are among the worst in the Bay Area. I’m having trouble understanding why the City Council doesn’t cover the basics.
