California’s highways are in lousy condition. That conclusion, contained in a new study by a group that advocates highway construction, is not exactly a news flash to Bay Area residents used to jarring, bumping rides on their commute.
But hey. It’s nice to know that someone recognizes the pain of Bay Area motorists. Also, shining on a light on the problem may help build pressure to do something about it.
Meanwhile, Congress is considering a second, smaller version of the economic stimulus bill that might pump more money in highway and road projects.
Some are calling the bill Stimulus II. The House approved a $75 billion bill Wednesday. We can expect more debate about the bill.
