The son of a Martinez cyclist killed in a hit and run accident in 2008 saw some measure of  justice Wednesday when an SUV driver pleaded guilty to the crime. It took authorities a year and a half to identify the driver, who hid the vehicle in a relative’s garage.  Click here for reporter Robert Salonga’s story on the plea, and the reaction from the son of the victim.. Friends and relatives of the victim, Mark Pendleton, 49, of Martinez, kept interest in the case alive with fliers and a memorial at the crash site on McEwen Road west of Martinez.
