More people in America are now killed by drugs than motor vehicle accidents, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. Traffic fatalities have declined sharply over three decades through the use of seat belts, airbags, and other safety improvements, while drug-induced deaths - including those from prescription drugs - have risen sharply in recent years, the newspaper reported. Groups that want more nature in our asphalt covered cities will convert metered parking spots to pop up parks for one day - Friday – in the Bay Area. In another protest against BART police Monday, a small group of demonstrators marched in downtown San Francisco, but there were no arrests and station closures, unlike a week ago.
