BART, AC Transit to redraw ward maps for electing board members

Traffic deaths in America now surpassed by drug deaths

More people in America are now killed by drugs than motor vehicle accidents, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. Traffic fatalities have declined sharply over three decades through the use of seat belts, airbags, and other safety improvements, while drug-induced deaths - including those from prescription drugs - have risen sharply in recent years, the newspaper reported. Turning parking spaces into parks for a day

Groups that want more nature in our asphalt covered cities will convert metered parking spots to pop up parks for one day - Friday – in the Bay Area. Walnut Creek will be included in the national Park(ing) Day event for the first time with three spaces on Locust Street getting a makeover for four hours.

No arrests, no station closures in latest BART protest Monday

In another protest against BART police Monday,  a small group of demonstrators marched in downtown San Francisco, but there were no arrests and station closures, unlike a week ago. BART board committee on Friday to discuss redistricting – the political jigsaw puzzle

BART overtime tab for five protests: $300,000
