UPDATE: OK, the pictures should now be visible.
Story should be online soon and in Wednesday’s paper soon enough. I hope it’s ok. My first story got lost in our new computer system so I had to write it again from scratch. I miss DOS.
Here are the pics by Bea Ahbeck and Anda Chu:

The Argus is blessed to have these two great photographers on their staff. It has gotten to the point when I know the photos were taken by one or the other of them and I can actually (usually) identify the photographer before I see the photo credit. Congratulations to Bea and Anda.

The third picture down, the one with the graffiti, is great.

I’m a volunteer with the Fremont Fire Department who responded to the Niles
Fire. These are beautifully shot photographs that should be submitted for
press photography awards.

I literally live right next to where this fire was (end of second st.) and I can tell you first hand that these photos tell an accurate story of the magnitude of this fire. As I was in my back yard looking over the fence, I could see this person taking photos of the fire. But I never imagined they would be so great!
Truly a fantastic job!

As a daughter of a retired firefighter, I love photos like this that capture the intensity of the moment. Pictures like this show how brave and wonderful these men and women are– how powerful. I am renewed with pride for my father.
