The Fremont Symphony will definitely continue operations, its musical director said Thursday, after two fundraisers last weekend raised about $45,000.
The Save our Symphony fundraiser last Saturday raised about $35,000 and an Indian-American community fundraiser on Friday raised $10,000 and $12,000.
That’s enough to cover the symphony’s $20,000 budget shortfall this year and start paying off its $45,000 debt, Music Director David Sloss said.
They symphony is still asking for $15,000 from the City Council, but will have a fall season whether or not the council allocates the money. “We’re not going to disappear,” Sloss said
