Fremont set to oppose apple moth spraying

On Tuesday, Fremont is set to join other Alameda County cities in opposing the states plan to eradicate the light brown apple moth, a recent immigrant from Australia that is a big threat to the region’s agriculture industry.
However, the Alameda County Conference of Mayors thinks spraying could be a big threat to public health, so many cities in the county — Fremont looks to be the latest — are on record opposing the spraying that is scheduled to start later this year.
