Truth Patrol, Part IV

Contrary to what one person said in a comment, John Dutra is not Suzanne Chan’s campaign chairman. Considering all that has been written about Dutra on this blog in recent weeks, I gave him a call this morning and talked to him about the A’s, politics and other stuff. I will post his comments here shortly.

    Hi, Matt,

I’ll await your comments, but I have a feeling they will be very favorable to the Chan campaign (as I am sure that Dutra is not going to “out” himself and his candidate for what they truly are, and motives they have for this city). But let’s see what you have to say.

The peanut gallery is pretty funny

    Susan M on 8/12/08:
    “This blog is a joke”

“the people responding to his blog are either the blogger in disguise…”

    “Get a life, you idiots!”

“Yikes! Our newspaper needs to screen its employees better!”

There’s no need to speculate about Sue Chan’s motives.

It seems that 100+ friends, neighbors, and colleagues posted videos describing Sue as motivated by kindness, generosity, and a commitment to the Fremont community:

    Very impressive!

Those youtube videos really don’t say much Drew. No matter how kind those people call Sue it doesn’t beat the fact that she has the developers in mind not the citizens as she continues filling her campaign with developer money and the Dutra influence/$ as well. I’m sure she’s a great person needles to say we need one who keeps the interest of the citizens first. I’ve personally met her, not very impressive, but I give her kudos.

Wow, “For the Record”! You’ve got quite a bit of free time on your hands! Seems like some of my comments pertain to you, specifically…

  6. Susan M. Says:

Drew (or should I say “Sue”)

There is a great need to speculate on Sue Chan’s motives…Having some friends and family post videos on youtube does not erase the fact that Chan’s campaign is fully funded by developers, all of which will have projects before the council.

There is a great need to speculate on her motives! I am also sure she is probably a nice person, but her motivations for this council race have nothing to do with making Fremont at better place to live. If she is elected, she will have a severe conflict of interest in front of her, and I doubt that the citizens of Fremont will be on the winning end of that.

So, please, citizens of Fremont, continue to speculate! We need speculation from our voters!

I prefer to learn about Sue from those who know her best, such as Nancy Stewart:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmrY2SpdXXg

Her kind words about Mrs. Chan are genuine and heart-felt. She actually knows the candidate and worked with personally with her on Fremont’s 50th Anniversary. She describes her as competent, caring, compassionate, and courageous.

Stewart’s endorsement of Sue Chan, like many others, stands in stark contrast many of these comments.
