Where’s the bacon?

My first candidate profile of the season was just uploaded to our web site. It’s about Vinnie Bacon, who I’m proud to say, had his name spelled correctly in every reference. Unfortunately, I misspelled “hippie” in the print edition, which is super-inexcusable considering I live in Berkeley two blocks from a never-ending drum circle. Also, we had some problem getting this online, so there may be a little formatting/punctuation problems. Oh well, here it is: http://www.insidebayarea.com/argus/ci_10237553
Next up, Fazlur Khan.
And here’s a flash from the first big campaign that I remember. Still can’t believe that John Glenn didn’t do better.

Matt (or Vinnie if you read this),
This may sound trivial, but I found it to be a very interesting part of the article. That is, the referrence to Mr Bacon’s apartment. Did you read this as a temporary situation, or a living choice?
I often see that candidates who are opposed to development and sprawl in favor of preserving natural environments live in some extraordinarily large homes built on environments that used to be spectacular natural habitats.
I always took this as an “I got mine” style of hypocrisy. But if Vinnie does chose to live in a high/medium density dwelling, this would speak volumes about his sincerity.

I agree with Marty, good point.

Yes, I am happy living in an apartment. I will probably buy again soon but, in this market, I’m in no hurry. I will definitely buy a condo or townhouse, ideally near transit.

I really enjoyed the article in the Argus the other day. The only thing that concerned me was that you were telling potential thief’s about what cool electronics you had in your home. (I was a single mom working full time who go robbed twice in one month by the same neighbor and it was a nerve wracking experience) I always vote for the new incoming people in local politics, I think things get stagnated when it’s the same old “good old boys group” of old men running for office like Gus Morrison and Bob Wassermann. BLECH I voted for Steve Cho last time and probably will again, and YOU of course. Let’s get some fresh ideas, and I totally agree with you about the urban sprawl, the A’s project and how all these strip malls are impacting our once beautify city.
Good luck!

You get my vote Vinnie. No to the ballpark in Fremont!!!!!

And you will not receive my vote unless you work to bring the A’s home to Fremont!
