Fremont doesn’t see medical pot in its future

Oakland Tribune reporter Josh Richman had a story in Monday’s paper about the new guidelines for medical marijuana dispensaries. Some medical pot supporters seem to think the rules would effectively overturn local bans on dispensaries, such as the one Fremont passed. Brown didn’t seem to think so, and neither did Fremont City Attorney Harvey Levine, who was quoted in the story:

Here’s what he said: “Marijuana distribution violates federal law, and last time I looked, it doesn’t get you in trouble to abide by federal law.”
