We’re halfway home in the council profiles. Click here for my profile of Alan Stirling, who also ran in 2006. A couple of things about Alan. He has a full set of the Encyclopedia Brittanica, and he remembers this classic 80s commercial:

For those into radio broadcast figures, the young man in the commercials is Donavan Freberg, son of Stan Freberg, the creator of many classic radio and television commercials, satires and other crazy things. (That’s Stan doing the voice over.)

Matt, a question for you. The Argus ran your story about Alan Sterling with his photo, but online they do not. This seems to be true for all stories. Any chance that will change in the future?

Sorry Doug,
We’re not at a point where we can post photographs to accompany stories on the web. We actually just abandoned DOS for Windows a few months ago. If that is any indication, Alan Stirling will probably have to run for council in 2018 if he wants his photograph to accompany a story about him on the web.

Thanks Matt. Sounds a little like John McCain’s campaign’s use of the web. Maybe they’ll get it right by 2018 as well. Oh,that would make Senator McCain 82.
