The results are in from the Democratic Forum “machine politics”. We now know who NOT to vote for.

  2. Doug Says:

Matt, you note that a recount was necessary in the endorsement for mayor. Who was the runner up?

  3. Matt Artz Says:

My little birdie didn’t say, but there’s only one other Democrat in race, Gus Morrison.

  4. Doug Says:

Thanks. As soon as I posted it my brain kicked in and said, doh!

Of course, Cho is the Republican candidate. This is why I don’t post much about politics.

  5. Susan M. Says:

CaliforniaGuy: If you base who you do and do not vote for solely on endorsements, and you do not look at the previous voting record the candidate, the experience of the candidate, the platform of the candidate…well, then I say you should not be voting at all, in any election, both local, national, or otherwise.

    Wasserman I like.
    Tahmasbi is pretty awesome.
Gebhardt and Crosby are nice, caring, dedicated people, but I’m saddened by the current state of public education in Fremont (and beyond) and I don’t think they’ll shake things up.

There are certainly no surprises. To get the endorsement, you gotta pay your dues, and they all have.

  7. Doug Says:

Would it be possible to post the links to the campaign web sites of the Tri-City candidates?

I checked out Smart Voter and the League of Women Voters, but they don’t contain actual links. In the case of Smart Voter they need to update their info.

I don’t feel like registering for Facebook to check out Tahmasbi.

  8. Walter GOP Livermore City-Chair Says:

Doug, I guess you did like http://www.smartvoter.org !

That sight is great! Smart Voter would have the websites listed (on each candidate’s page) if the candidates provided Smart Voter with the information.

If the candidate’s name is highlighted and you are able to click on the name itself, that means that the candidate has provided campaign information to Smart Voter. When you click on the candidate’s name, and their page comes up, look for the small circle labeled “campaign www,” in the top right corner of the page. At the bottom, there is a specific category labeled “Campaign Contact Information.” You can check there too. Sometimes, candidates list their phone-numbers, along with their Website information and email addresses… Just in case you want give them a call.

Glad that Smart Voter worked out for you Doug!

  9. Doug Says:

Walter/Livermore - thanks again. I followed your instructions and found some had links and some did not. In fact, currently, a majority did not have links. I wonder if this is the candidates not yet providing the information or the site not yet updating the online data?

  10. Californiaguy Says:

It is up to the candidates to supply the needed info to Smart Voter, like Vinnie Bacon

    Doug,
The candidates have to supply the info, Like Vinne Baconhttp://www.smartvoter.org/2008/11/04/ca/alm/vote/bacon_v/

The reputation of the Democratic Forum should be a red light to any voter.
