So we’ll have Creekside Landing formerly known as Bayside Marketplace and the _____________ A’s formerly known as the Oakland A’s.
How about, Pacific Commons formerly known as Fremont?
I still think calling the A’s the Pacific Commoners might catch on. Their slogan could be, “The team for the common man (or woman).” Definitely a more global ring to it. Why limit the fan base to the Bay Area?

The linked article says the store will open in Fall, 2010 which is two years away. Thanks for the heads up!

Is this a different development than Bayside Marketplace? Here’s the announcement that was put out last year about it. “The 49-acre Bayside Marketplace would include several big box retailers, about a dozen smaller shops and 1,993 parking spaces just north of Dixon Landing Road.”
There’s a Paul Simon’s song that keeps playing in my mind, “Slip Slidin’ Away”. The opening lyics say it all,
“You know the nearer your destination, The more you’re slip slidin’ away.”

If Creekside Landing ends up being an mini outlet mall, it might not be as redundant as I’d imagined. I still want to see a Whole Foods or Nugget Market somewhere nearby, too.
