NUMMI would be spared in GM bankruptcy, according to report

Berkeley’s journalism school actually has more reporters in Fremont than The Argus. Check out their web site, which includes a new story about NUMMI’s future with GM.

  1. NUMMI would be screwed, as would every single other North American auto plant of all manufacturers. When GM can’t pay suppliers, who are hanging by a thread as it is, many will fold. These suppliers work with multiple manufacturers, so you’ll see a domino effect of plant closings and work stoppages as other companies scramble for parts from solvent suppliers. It’ll get ugly.

  2. I’d like the following itemized above the sticker price:

    1. Total UAW wages needed to build this car

    2. Total government subsidy need to build this car
