Another missed deadline, another fine for Fremont eyesore

Today is the latest city-imposed deadline for Jim Hardwick to have turned old Shell Station on Thronton Ave at Cabrillo Drive  into an exciting new mini-mart. He’s not even close to done. There’s still no roof, still no stucco, still no landscaping, etc., etc.

The city fined him $4,500 when he missed his last deadline in October. The fined him another $14,000 this month when it turned out he didn’t have a general contractor overseeing the project as promised. Now they can fine him again. That decision will come on Monday.

Hardwick said he had not comment.

  1. Does anyone have any info on the fate of rest of the Cabrillo shopping center? The center looks dated and due for a demo and rebuild. Some of my favorite Fremont businesses are in there -Bicycle Garage and Cabrillos Cafe and I’d hate to see them go.

  2. I agree Marty, I would love for the center to be renovated. It’s truly sad how Wasserman and Co. let the existing strip malls all around our city deteriorate and focus on A’s.

  3. W_ASS_ERMAN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT FREMONT OR THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE HERE HE JUST WANTS HIS BOX SEATS RIGHT NEXT TO THE WOLFF FAMILY. NO TO THE BALLPARK IN FREMONT!!!!
