There's a reason why Dave Smith is on his sixteenth consecutive term as Mayor, and a lot of it has to do with not insulting the intelligence of his constituency. Give the people what they want and they'll keep voting you back in. So far, Newark's got NewPark, Silliman Center, and an Ohlone campus that you don't have to be a mountain goat to get to.
