Ohlone fees are going up

By Matt Artz
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 at 12:12 pm in Ohlone College.

All Community Colleges, including Ohlone, will be raising rates from $20 per unit to $26 per unit, per the State Chancellor’s office.

This will be effective for the Fall 2009 semester.

That means that students who have already registered and paid their tuition (really, it is called a fee, not tuition) at $20/unit will now have to pay the additional fee.

When I attended JC in the early-mid 90′s “fees” were $13 per unit for the semester schedule. Using my trusty inflation calculator tied to the CPI, a $13 unit in 1992 dollars should cost $19.99 today.

So in my estimation, they *had* it right at $20, and the $6 increase covers mismanagement.
