UPDATE: Roof fire was at Pakwan Restaurant, 41068 Fremont Blvd. No one hurt; $50,000 in damage. Possible cause: excessive buildup of grease in duct system.

In other Irvington public safety news two men held up Irvington Liquors Thursday night about 8:50 p.m. They ran out with cash, and reportedly one of them displayed some sort of weapon with a laser on it.

Looks like firefighters have extinguished a roof fire near the intersection of Fremont and Washington boulevards. It took them at least 10 minutes to do it. If the battalion chief gives me a call, I’ll let you know the building.
