Good point Jeff S. Another shopping center is not what we need. Meanwhile Lam Research is shipping 300 Fremont jobs over the hill to Livermore and Bridgelux, who recently relocated there is hoping to hire another 150 people soon.

“We simply couldn’t be happier that Bridgelux is here,” said Ron Vyse, chairman of the Livermore Chamber of Commerce. “I’m ecstatic.” City and business leaders in Livermore are particularly enthusiastic about being able to land a clean-tech manufacturer. “If we could attract 10 more companies like Bridgelux, we would be doing back flips,” Vyse said.”

Good grief. Yes, the one thing Fremont needs more of is shopping centers, since all of ours have no vacancies and are simply thriving. And a new mall will attract people from miles around, since there are no malls outside of the city limits.

PLEASE don't struggle with that — publish it! Voters have a right to know if a candidate has done their homework or not. Asking a local candidate about a local issue and having them draw a blank isn't a "gotcha" tactic.

I attended the Fremont City Council candidates’ debate and came away with the impression that one candidate thinks Obama is on the ballot in Nov. That candidate kept saying that we should vote and support Obama.

Maybe this year we can endorse based on best mustaches, which would mean Fazlur Khan and Herdon would get the nod. Quite an unbalanced ticket if you ask me.

Are you serious in suggesting that we decide whom to vote for based on the color of their campaign signs? And that we look at who the candidate roots for also? Should I also look at the color of the car and the make and model of the candidates?

C’mon, you folks in the media need to be responsible. After all, the ARGUS endorsed candidates have a very poor record.
