From the cops:
Two women went into the Sally’s Beauty Supply in north Fremont grabbed some stuff and ran out to a waiting car. Witnesses got the license plate of the get-away car. Cops haven’t yet caught the thieves.
Police responded to a verified alarm at a vacant commercial building in the 45700 block of Northport Loop. Acting on information from a private security guard, a Fremont officer deployed his dog, which “promptly found and bit” a well-known probationer, who was arrested for burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.
From the wire
Fremont woman arrested on suspicion of  insider trading.
From my email:
Ohlone public service officer Stewart Dawson has died.
The FBI is warning people about a scam in jury service. Here’s how it works:
The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and bingo, your identity was just stolen.
Folks in Niles are on the lookout for a Ford Bronco or old Jeep that someone is driving onto the front lawn of Niles Elementary School and ruining the grass. The school was also tagged just before Christmas Eve.

Andrew, I believe Mrs. Dawson made the group private today, meaning people won’t be able to post unless they request permission.

Also within the past few weeks the field at Rancho Arroyo park which is down and around the street from Niles Elem. has been getting driven on. Most likely the same culprit.
