I don’t see the Palin connection either,, in fact I cant imagine two people more dissimilar. I suppose hit hungry online editors like anything with Palin in the headline, and writers like the attention, so the connection is made.

Highly off topic but as a Civil War buff I found this article interesting.

My experience has been that few of us know much about the man our town is named after (as implied in the article). The article is interesting simply for the bio. I’m not sure about comparison with Sarah Palin.

The one nagging question I have is – Should we start spelling our town Frémont to sound more cosmopolitan?
