I knew from much reading about it (during the time it was going on) that the charge against Pete Stark was a trumped up bunch of baloney. The unanimous decision from the bipartisan ethics committee said as much and vindicated him. I was appalled when I read (thanks to you) that Stark’s wikipage didn’t reflect that and immediately made the time to add that information, without which the wikipage is inaccurate (to put it mildly). I was really short on time so pretty much all I did was paste in your comment because it was appropriate and included a source. I have no connection to Pete Stark other than being a constituent who has much respect for him.
Thank you for pointing out the incompleteness (i.e. inaccuracy) of the record so that people like Greg can have the facts to chew on.

Re: post #1, apparently the Wiki hasn’t been updated recently. In January 2010, the House Ethics Committee voted unanimously that the allegations that Stark took a tax break on a property he owns in Maryland were unfounded.

Good work, Matt! I read the Argus story right now, and I can’t believe this guy was able to get away with all that! Seriously, why did this guy even want to be an Ohlone College trustee? What a lousy example to set for students… and young people like me who kinda believe in public service…
