I hear you about wanting a free-flowing blog with as much fun and snark as possible. Believe it or not, that was the original goal. And to many degrees, I still want that. But we’ve got to have some rules. I don’t blame anyone for being annoyed that their comment got deleted. It’s admittedly an imperfect process. Sometimes I’ll have time to play referee, often I won’t. Sometimes that will lead to inconsistency (or the appearance of hypocrisy). Bottom line, is there’s a thin line between snark (including witty one-liners or even failed at attempts at witty one-liners that include female Russian bands with profane names) and just insulting people. That line isn’t always clear but we’ll keep trying. I invite everyone to stick around.

And, this still being a newspaper’s blog, maybe we can eventually start debating some topical community issues. (See, that was passive-aggressive and even a little snarky, without calling anyone a name. Dammit, it CAN be done!
