#056 Robbery / Outside Assist Arrest. Day Shift Officers assisted Mid Shift Officers on a surround and callout of a Newark PD robbery suspect on San Pedro Dr. A SWAT Callout was initiated at approximately 0700 hours after the suspect refused to exit the residence. The suspect surrendered prior to arrival of the SWAT Team. 

#34: VC violation arrest during a ped stop at Alvarado/880 on a median solicitor. A 47 yr old male was arrested and booked. 

#45: Warrant arrest during a contact at 4262 Central. A 27 yr old female was arrested for her outstanding $15K drug warrant out of Orange Co. 

#47: Warrant arrest during a ped stop at 45900 blk Warm Springs Blv. A 52 yr old female arrested for her outstanding $5K drug warrant from San Mateo Co.

Fremont Crime News — Tuesday

Fremont Police Department — Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012

#011: Interrupted residential burglary on 47000 blk Mardis St. At 10:30 AM the elderly resident returned home to find two males inside her house. The males ran off. The resident called her daughter, who then called us. As officers were investigating this, a caller from Plumosa reported 2 suspicious males knocking on her door. We were unable to locate the suspects. 

#015: A medical provider called to ask that we check on the welfare of a patient who never arrived for an appointment. Officers forced entry to the house and found the 58 year-old deceased inside. The female had significant health issues. Nothing suspicious was located.

Officer’s responded to 42000 blk Corte Galicia on a report of a possible dead body. The reporting party called after she found her 66 year old husband non-responsive. Upon the arrival of the officer’s, FFD pronounced the husband deceased. There was nothing suspicious about the death and the coroner released the body to the family.

A CSO took a residential burglary report from 4875 Mowry Ave where the suspect(s) pried open the rear patio sliding glass door and took jewelry and a white 1996 Honda Accord, license #4DGP610.

#002: Single vehicle versus light pole at Grimmer/Victoria. Officer arrested a female for VC 23152A and transported her to WTH for clearance then to Santa Rita for booking. She was also charged with a small amount of cocaine found during the booking search.

#003: 2:45 AM; Window Smash Commercial Burglary at “Fast and Quick Liquor” at 3900 Decoto Rd. Loss was a pack of cigarettes. Suspect was described as a BMA, 20-25 years, 6’0″-6’2″, black cap, black jeans.

Traffic Collisions:

#012: 11-82 (Non-Injury) at Gaulludet and Stevenson, a single vehicle DUI collision. Officer arrested a 24 yr old male for DUI.

#019: 11-81 (injury collision) at Paseo Padre and Chadbourne, investigated by Officer.

Ohlone College board candidate forum scheduled Thursday night

An election forum featuring Ohlone College Board of Trustees candidates and two people running for the 17th Congressional District seat has been scheduled Thursday night.

The free public event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Ohlone College’s Fremont campus, at 43600 Mission Blvd.

First, four Ohlone College candidates — incumbents Teresa Cox and Greg Bonaccorsi, and opponents Bob Brunton and Kevin Bristow — will answer questions submitted to the moderator.

An interview of Congressman Mike Honda and his opponent Evelyn Li — who are vying for the 17th Congressional District seat — will follow.

The League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City is hosting the forum.

8:43 p.m.  – During a warrant service on Cherry St, Officers arrested a Newark man, 38, for three warrants. He was booked at Fremont City Jail.

10:23 p.m. – During a bicycle stop on Dairy Ave, Officers arrested a Newark woman, 41, for possession of drug paraphernalia and destruction of evidence. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

12:57 a.m.: During a pedestrian stop on Spencer Ct, Officers arrested a Mountain House man, 54, for a misdemeanor warrant. He was cited with a new court date.

Tuesday September 25, 2012

11:24 a.m.: During a traffic stop, Officers arrested Modesto man, 34, for a felony warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

2:50 p.m.: Officers responded to a theft report at JC Penney’s and arrested Fremont resident, 18, for petty theft. She was cited and released at the scene.

10:54 p.m.: Officers responded to a rollover accident at Mayhews Landing Rd/Bettencourt St. and arrested Newark man, 25, for DUI. He was later cited.

2:54 a.m.: During a contact in the EZ-8 parking lot, Officers arrested South San Francisco woman, 20, for public drunkenness. She was booked at Fremont City Jail.

Candidate forum for New Haven Unified School District board & 20th Assembly District

I was out sick yesterday, otherwise I would have posted this sooner. Apologies for the delay:

An election forum featuring four New Haven Unified School District board candidates and two people running for the 20th Assembly District seat has been scheduled for tonight (Wednesday, 9/26).

Written questions may be submitted to the moderator at the forum. 

The free public event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the school district’s Educational Services Center at 34200 Alvarado-Niles Road.

First, the school board candidates — incumbents Jonas Dino, Michelle Matthews and Michael Ritchie, and challenger Nick Fresquez — will answer questions.

An interview of  Jennifer Ong and Bill Quirk – who are vying for the 20th Assembly District seat — will follow.

The 20th Assembly District includes Hayward, Union City, part ofFremont and unincorporated county areas including Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Sunol, Ashland, Cherryland and Fairview.

Fremont Mayoral/City Council election forum tonight at City Hall

An election forum featuring Fremont’s mayoral and City Council candidates has been scheduled Friday evening. The free public event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers, at Fremont City Hall at 3300 Capitol Ave.

First, Fremont’s five mayoral candidates — Aziz Akbari, Steve Cho, Bill Harrison, Anu Natarajan and Linda Susoev — will be interviewed.

An interview of Fremont’s six City Council candidates will follow. The council candidates are: Vinnie Bacon, Sue Chan, John J. Dutra, Rick Jones, Rakesh Sharma and Mark Wadley.

Those attending can submit questions for candidates to answer. The League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City is hosting the forum.
