Indo-American community leaders have scheduled a vigil Tuesday in honor of a 23-year-old woman who died Saturday after she was gang raped and severely beaten in India.

The ceremony is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fremont Hindu Temple, at 3676 Delaware Drive.

A second Fremont vigil is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Lake Elizabeth in Central Park, at 40000 Paseo Padre Parkway.
