NEWARK — A 28-year-old man who was shot while sitting in a parked car Monday evening is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

Several witnesses called 911 about 6:20 p.m. to report that a man sitting in a car parked in the 37000 block of Olive Street had been shot, police said. Responding officers found the man at the scene, and he was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

No information about a suspect or motive was immediately available, police said.
