Woman robbed by masked gunman along busy Fremont street

Police are looking for a masked gunman who robbed a woman as she walked along a busy city street here Monday evening.
The woman was not injured, but the armed bandit did make off with a pocketful of cash, police said.

Officers responded at 6:40 p.m. to the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Sundale Drive just east of the Crossroads Shopping Center for a report of an armed robbery, said Detective Bill Veteran.
A preliminary investigation revealed a man approached a 27-year-old Fremont woman as she walked home and pointed a black handgun at her, Veteran said.
The suspect, who wore a black bandana over his face, took $40 from the woman took off on foot. Officers searched the area, but did not find the him, Veteran said.
