“Camp” Rocks The Nielsens

To absolutely no one’s surprise, “Camp Rock” proved to be another blockbuster for the Disney Channel. Last Friday’s debut telecast drew 8.9 million viewers, making it the second most-watched program in the network’s history, behind “High school Musical 2.” (and ahead of the original “HSM”).

It was the highest-rated program, by far, of any network on Friday and Nielsen stats indicate it grew more ppopular as the night wore on, peaking with 10 million viewers in the final half-hour.
