PlayStation 3 trophies, in-game XMB and more

The PlayStation trophy/in-game XMB hit a little before midnight yesterday. I downloaded it. The v2.40 upgrade didn’t take that long to set up. There a couple of noticeable things though once you start up.
The time and date is now up on the top-right side.
There’s no an off-switch under the profiles section of the XMB.
An Internet search bar is on the same tab as Internet section. It’s similar to the Google integration in the PlayStation Portable.
Lastly, you’re now allowed 100 friends on your friends list.
As for the trophies, it’s there. Unfortunately, there isn’t much support out there besides the first-party Sony titles. I tired playing Warhawk, and after the 55MB upgrade, it didn’t work. Nothing showed up on the screen.
Don’t know if it’s a bug or not. But it is annoying.
As for the in-game XMB, it is awesome. I never realized how much the PS3 needed this until I used it switching between games and listening to my own music. It’s very handy. Players just have to do a quick tap on the PS button and it’ll pop open. If you press and hold it, the usual quite game menu appears.
Now, if Sony can just bolster that trophy support and have it done by say tomorrow, I’d be a happy camper.

The PS3 seams to have so much untapped potential, I’m always feeling a sense of not knowing enough about what has been tapped. Thanks foe telling about the in game messages, I hope it works easily enough.
Maybe you know an answer for me…
If MP3’s are loaded to the PS3, can you listen to your own music while playing a game at the same time?
the Music scores on the games are usually good but after a while I want some other tunes that spike my adrenalin.

Yeah, you can play your own music while in the game. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard you can do it.
