Just got the Xbox 360 E3 media credentials in the mail today. It’s a pretty fancy circle thingy on a lanyard and best of all it’s full of useful information about where to go to eat, play, etc. What are we going to see? We don’t know, but we sure are excited.

Gieson just dropped off this cool package for The Bourne Conspiracy. Inside is, of course, the game…

…and also a hintbook for when I inevitably get stuck, done up like a classified document.

Expect a review next week.

We just got in and we’ll be playing it shortly. It comes with a nice sleeve, right, and is full of such awesomeness that the cardboard may not be able to hold it. Look for a review in the coming days.

Last Wednesday I relayed the launch of SAGA with a bit of hopeful optimism about another attempt at an MMORTS. Well my review copy has arrived and I underestimated how different it is: It’s not an MMORTS, it’s an MMOCCRTSG. (Massively multiplayer online collectible card real time strategy game, which is the best acronym I’ve ever coined.) It doesn’t just have CCG elements - as you can see in the picture the booster packs are actual cards in actual wrappers.
Expect a review this weekend.

Rockstar is going all-out with the PR blitz. I may not be playing the game, but at least now I have the Statue of Happiness here staring at me and reminding me that I’m not playing the game.

Well, Gieson received it. But it’s on my desk and he’s not here yet so if he wants it he’s going to have to fight me. Nothing like a good old fashioned bare knuckles boxing match in the middle of the newsroom on a Thursday afternoon…

I just got an email from a reader who shall remain anonymous complaining that I didn’t mark the half-dozen or so different versions of Still Alive as spoilers.
I don’t make a habit of calling out people who complain, in fact I welcome criticism since it helps improve the blog and I usually do my best to fix the problem, but when I said “complaining” this time I meant “spewing forth a string of profanity that makes Gordon Ramsay sound like Mr. Rodgers.”
Rather than explain why I didn’t consider it to be a spoiler, here’s the conversation my friend Dave and I had on the topic. It pretty much covers my stance on the matter:
Dave: Hey, guess what! When you complete a line in Tetris, it disappears. OH CRAZY SPOILER BURN!
Danny: OH SNAP THE GAME IS RUINED NOW THANKS A LOT! I’m going to play SimCity next SO DON’T SPOIL THAT NOW!
Dave: IT COSTS TEN BUCKS TO BUILD A ROAD
Danny: I HATE YOU!
We here at Gamester would never post a spoiler to a long game with a plot. We will, however, reference story details of three-hour puzzle games when they’re included in wildly popular songs. So be forewarned.

Since I hardly get any cool stuff in the mail (sigh) I just have to steal Gieson’s. Today it’s a reminder that the start of baseball season, my fifth-favorite time of the year (behind, in order, the start of the NFL season, Halloween, the NFL Draft and the start of the NFL preseason), is just around the corner.
I’ll review this right after I finish reviewing Turning Point, which is taking forever because of the aforementioned issue with checkpoint placement. But I refuse to play the first two games of the A’s season unless someone pays me $40,000.

Got into the office today and found a copy of Army of Two waiting for me. I can’t wait to check this out after seeing it at Electronic Arts’ fall event last year. The masks on the cover aren’t jiving with me, but I’ll let you folks know the final word next week.
Also in the mail today: Lost Planet for the PlayStation 3 and NCAA 08 March Madness (just in time for the tournament).
