Pregame in Salt Lake City…

And Don Nelson dropped this little tidbit — Troy Hudson is still being bothered by his sore hip and groin problem that’s troubled him on and off for a few weeks, and will be inactive tonight. That means rookie forward Brandan Wright will suit up for the first time in a regular-season game.

Also, after riding Baron for 46 minutes on Friday, Nelson would ideally like to play him only half the game tonight, which means a lot of Monta Ellis at the point. Or a lot of point forward. Or . . . who knows? It’s Don Nelson. Anything can happen.

hi marcus. you probably already know, but just for everyone’s knowledge, here are jrich’s numbers while leading the bobcats to their first two victories of the season:

    11/2: 21 pts, 6 rebs, 3 stls
    11/4: 29 pts, 5 rebs, 1 stl

oh yeah, and he’s shooting 51% from the field and 56% on 3′s so far. we miss him, badly. i bet he could’ve pulled us back in both the clips game and the 2nd jazz game.

i know it’s too early to panic, but WTH!!!! can’t monta make at least 2 decent entry passes into the post??? and why does he kill 10 seconds on the shot clock before initiating the offense??? i’ve never been a huge fan of his but he’s killing me even more now. i don’t think a guy who only does one thing well (score) deserves and huge contract at the end of the year. i mean, can you explain how he could not guard jason hart and put pressure on him?? how about using a little hesitation move instead of going full speed to the bucket and getting it thrown back in your face?! ok, i’m done with my rant. please prove me wrong about monta, marcus. give me something to work with. please.

I feel you E.J. What you think J-Rich is going to put up when he comes back to Oakland?

  • EJ

oh man. you can put jrich down for a good 30-35 when he gets back. not to mention the 7-8 boards he’s going to grab over monta, jack, and azubuike. it’ll be hard for this body (the warriors) to function without its heart (jrich).

i didn’t really expect this team to sustain the energy and play from the end of the regular season last spring. it looks like this team is being built up for something in the next 2-3 years with trading jrich and unloading big contracts. but, do we keep monta and FORCE him to be a 1?? he obviously isn’t. assist numbers can be deceiving. most of his assist come off of passes to a guy coming of a screen and rarely through him penetration or creating a basket for a teammate. i say we spend as much money as we can to get arenas back.
