Wes,
I think it's because Baron has to work harder with Jackson out and J-Rich gone. Teams are forcing other players to beat them by throwing their best defenders and shading the help towards Baron. Everyone else (save for Harrington and Ellis, who mostly create for themselves) is standing around behind the 3-point line waiting for Baron to create something.
It looks more like the offense when Monty was here than Nellie ball.

Baron is still struggling with his shot selection. I think, for all the off season workout he did, his stamina isn't where it needs to be.

I'm noticing that at the begining of the game and second half, he's driving to the hoop and taking wise shots. By the end of the first half and end of the third, he's chucking up fall away threes.

We all know Baron can't live on the three point line....

Stephen Jackson is the motor mouth that really runs the Warriors defense. He calls out a ton of stuff before it even happens. More than his wonderfull individual and team defense, his on court "coaching" is sorely missed. Who would have though that of JAX at the time of the trade? If the defense is still off after his third game back, then it will be time to panic. Until then, don't go off the deep end.

out of curiousity, what's your take on BD? I've only watched 2 of the games and thus far he seems to be lacking the quickness and explosion he normally has. Do you know if his knee is bothering him or there is an injury hampering his performance?

MT, you're so right. I was screaming(like thousand of other fans) at my TV set as the play developed. Four Warriors dove to the paint and there was Gibson inspecting his fingernails and thinking of post game activities while waiting for the kickout pass. Now, I'm not sure the Warriors would have won anyway, but those stupid mistakes make this Thursday a no-brainer for me. I'm going out and not suffering through watching loss number 5.
