You're absolutely right about Sloan making adjustments "Danikil." Just shows how much Portland has to go in that division. Tough division with Utah, Portland and Denver, very tough.

You're right about Nelson. He is his own worst enemy and for that reason I too believe he will never be a Champion. The exact oppposite is Jerry Sloan.

See how slow and deliberate Derron Williams brings the ball up and sets up the offense. THey don't even push the ball once, not one. Always slow, half-court offense to the point that the opposition concedes it. So if they hustle a couple of times throughout the game, they may be able to get easy baskets.

I grew up watching "SHowtime Laker Basketball" so I do like the fast break offense more. But Sloan has been successful because of that offensive scheme and he has the players to execute it patiently.

I;m not saying I completetly agree with that style of play. There were many times last night agains Portland, where Derron Williams could have pushed the ball up court. But he elected to hold on to the ball and let everyone run up court first, and set up. That has been working for these guys since Stockton/Malone for hte last 20 years.

But Nelson is so proud and egotistical, that he thinks it;s his way or the highway. He really believes that scoring the most points in the league while sacrificing defense is the way to win Championships.

But this team is not Magic's Lakers. That was the only team in the history of the world that could win playing fast break uptempo basketball, that's it nobody else.

Not Phoenix in the days of Nash, Marion and Stoudemire, not Sacrmaneto with Bibby, Webber, Turkoglu era, not Jason Kidd, Jefferson, Kenyon Martin era, none of these uptempo teams could win a Championship.

The Champions in the last decade have always played a slower, half-court and more definite offesive scheme.

The Lakers from 2000-2003 during the 3 peat played the triangle offense: slow, boring and methodical, but it got them 3 rings.

The 4 Championships for the Spurs, slow, half-court. The Bulls Run in the 90's was a triangle half-court offense. The Bad Boy Pistons as well as the Larry Brown Pistons both played a similar half-court style.

Hakeem's Rockets half-court.

I like the uptempo game more, not to say that I like the half-court style of play, but it seems to give teams more success in today's NBA!

Trading Maggette would be good, But let's wait and see how good Wright is before we give up on a 6'10 inch player who is developing nicely. How about trading Don Nelson and Maggette for future considerations or maybe a second rounder. Nelson has never won NBA championship because he gets in his own way. His ego won't let him make calculated adjustments because he thinks he is smart. Smart people know they have much to learn. Utah used a small ball lineup against Portland the other night with success because Sloan adjusts. Go Warriors in spite of Nelso and Rowell!!

Good to see Monta talking to the press. His silence following the accident and during his suspension was nerve-wracking. At least Monta and management (i.e. Rowell) seem to be in reasonably good spirits...
But Crawford "being able to get after it on defense?" He should've said "he NEEDS to get after it on defense"!

Yes, that question was BS. Fan's don't want you kicking the bee hive. That is exactly the type of question that makes people hate the media aka Drama queens looking to create a story.

For Monta, I just hope he takes his time. Even extra time. A couple extra months is okay with me, but nothing less than 100+% is too soon and not worth the risk or re-injury.

It's not to late for the Warriors to turn their season around.

Trading Maggette and Brandon Wright of an inside beast like Al Jefferson or Omeka Okufur would make them instantly better and solve their inside issues.

Having Jefferson and Monte would give them two go-to-guys, making them legit contenders.
