The Warriors already have talented players at 2-5, but no one on the floor who can manipulte that talent. As you say, Marcus, they need a leader and a point guard.

Unless the Warriors have a fail-safe trade for a veteran point guard already in place, I think that they should pick Ty Lawson. He's the only 1 in the draft who is a proven leader and offensive facilitator.

Too bad he's short. So was Timmy Hardaway. So is Jameer Nelson. All the 1s in this draft have a knock. Lawson is fast, his assits to turnovers ratio is fantastic, and he has already run a team full of NBA quality players. Carolina faltered when he was out of the line-up.

Even if the Warriors trade for a veteran point guard, Lawson would be valuable as a back-up. Draft him.

If Curry and Hill are gone, the W's should snag Earl Clark!

Or maybe trade down and get Clark a bit later if they can. He is 6-9-6=10, long athletic, room to grow, very versatile, can guard multiple positions, can post, has a decent jumper, can slash that can improve and knows how to play defense. Kinda reminds of Lamar Odom. Can handle the ball for a big man as well!

I know some will cringe after reading this, but I another guy who could help immediately but doesn't have much upside is Tyler Hansbrough. Is he worth the seventh pick? Probably not, but he may be worthwhile to a head coach who has is close to retirement, wants to win now and has control over personnel decisions.

I think Nellie would be fine with any of the following six because they all look capable of contributing as rookies: Griffin, Rubin, Harden, Hill, Evans & Curry

If Thabeet slips to #7, I don't think we'd have any problems taking a different player or trading the pick.

Looking at the recent mock drafts and also ESPN's blog about the draft, I don't see Curry being there at 7, barring some crazy trade. If it's truly between Hill and Curry I think we'll end up with Hill.

Personally I hope we end the offseason with a legitimate PG. I don't care if it's through the draft, trade, or free agency, but we need a point guard whose name isn't Monta Ellis or Jamal Crawford.
