Morrow Ready for 3-point Shootout Invitation

Anthony Morrow said he would win the Three-Point Shootout if he got invited. Here’s why he’s so confident.

(Note: He said the racks are taller than the ones the league uses in the shootout. Plus, he had to reach back a few times for the last couple of balls. In the shootout, there is someone there to push the balls forward.)

The Warriors posted this on Facebook and I called “foul” then too. I’m not saying Morrow wouldn’t win, I’m just a little skeptical of anything coming from the Warriors PR department these days. Notice the number and placement of balls on the floor between the 2nd and 3rd racks, when they conveniently edited in a cut-away of Morrow running to the racks. There’s magically 3 or 4 extra balls sitting perfectly still on the floor! They obviously cut together a couple of different shooting sequences to make it look like Morrow shot the lights out in one session. Again, not saying he can’t win the thing, but it’s pretty sad that the Warriors have to resort to the magic of video editing in order to make their case.

It’s only the 3rd rack that was edited in. The other 4 racks look legit and look like they were from the same “take”. So all this video proves is that Morrow made 19/20, which is still really good.

Fuck the 3 point shootout………give me more of what we saw Friday night…

Give me a big, game changing 3 pointer in the 4th quarter over a stupid All-Star weekend event any day of the week.

The only thing that should count is whether Anthony helps the Warriors win games…….forget about the stupid All-Star festivities.

I’d rather have that big shot Friday night over any stupid 3 point shootout.

Having Morrow and Ellis at the All Star Weekend wold be the only real positive out of the season.

    Good catch!

I think if we get Ellis to the All-Star game, he’ll start getting some respect from the refs. He’s in the top 6 in PPG, but he shoots the fewest FT’s and we all seen how he gets mugged taking it to the rack. The other top 5 shoot about 8-9 a game, another 2-3 free throws would definately help Ellis and the Warriors.

Nature Boy all over the Flunkster Dudes! Good work.

No one ever said they didn’t edit this footage. It is pretty damn impressive! Hope they invite him.

I don’t think it’s really that skeptical for Morrow to hit 23/25 3s though, Nature Boy.

I remember a few months ago MT had a post of Morrow hitting about 90/114 tries on random 3s, not just standstill. Just saying, I understand your point though.

  • YA BOY

I THINK ITS KINDA SKETCH THAT THE GUY IN THE BALCONY DOESNT MOVE A MUSCLE… LIKE ITS A CARBOARD CUTOUI OR SOMETHIN.. AND WHY THEY GOTTA CHANGE CAMERA VIEWS?

I WROTE THE ABOVE COMMENT BEFORE I READ NATUREBOYS, GOOD SHOOTING BUT ITS DEF BEEN EDITED

  • The Nature Boy

I think Morrow CAN hit 23/25 treys (especially at that slower pace). My point is why not SHOW him doing that, instead of obviously cutting together two different shooting sessions? It would have been much more impressive to see him shoot all 25 in one take. Oh, and also notice that they don’t show the last shot on rack #2 go in…..

He doesn’t have a name NOW. But let him enter that contest and people will know who the best pure shooter in the NBA is.

The video didn’t make me a believer. I could string together a video and with a little cut and paste action I’ll make every one!

Monta deserves to be an allstar and Morrow deserves a chance at the 3 point crown. I’d also like to see Curry in the skills competion. The rookie/soph game is a lock.
