Marc & Jwalk, I hope you guys can make up at the season opener when you blow eachother in the bathroom. On the hiring of Mark Jackson, who knows? All I know is if monta ellis is getting traded, Stephen Curry needs to work on all of his turnovers I saw last season. I’m glad they fired keith smart, they need to need to something different.

the interesting thing about this hire is we all know what mark thinks (at least in basketball terms). we have been able to hear his opinions about players and styles for years on TV. personally i’m not a fan, but winning would make me feel better. but c’mon, any W’s fan that feels hopeful about next season has not been a W’s fan for too long. every year they sell hope and every year they fail to deliver. not opinion, fact.

It’s wait and see, isn’t it? At least if we’re raiding ESPN for “talent” it’s not Van Gundy. And this rumor mill about Iguodala for Monta? That just hurts. I can see it happening and Monta comes back to Oracle and drops 50 on a struggling team led by the wonderful firebrand Biedrins!

oh, one more thing…and I do hate this bickering blog-itis that’s taken over the site…but really—neo fight? before you try to duel intellectually sharpen your vocabulary, spelling and rhetorical skills….it’s sad…

hopefully West signed off on Jackson….hopefully a lot of things…but let’s wait and see…after all, as devoted Warriors fans, waiting is something we’ve done well for centuries…

I agree with you Sperry, we’re bringing in some respectability. I like the names and cast of characters so far, West, Jackson, Meyer. It’s an improvement over Bobby Rowell who loved to screw up the team and then find ways to villify some scapegoat player/coach in the media, see e.g. Baron, Latrell, Webber, Mullin, Jackson, Caelesimo, Twardzick… Bye the way, is Rowell still on the payroll?

Good hire to by the Warriors to give Jackson a shot. Better than any retread out there. Jackson has always been a student of the game and he knows what it takes to win in this league and being analyst has helped his knowledge even more.

I have been saying for over a year now, the Warriors have needed to get what they can and trade Monte Ellis. They need talent.

They can look to draft PF/C 7′0, 225 Donatas Motiejunas or the guy I’m high on SF/BG 6′8, 228lbs Jordan Hamilton to replace Monte Ellis at the BIG 2 GUARD position if they indeed trade Ellis for a big man. Hamilton can swing as a big guard or small forward and he will get stronger and has solid upside.

I dont think anyone can be happy or upset with this move, everything is obviously unknown. I do like coaches who were previous pg’s though, that position above all others must know the roles of every position on a team. Obviously Mark Jackson was successful being the floor leader for many years. That said, Hiring Malone as assistant is a great move and makes the unknown easier to be satisfied with.

Most importantly though, All moves done with this management team were to bring in big names amongst the NBA community. Player friendly management. Now we wont be a team that good players avoid at all costs. At least it should be a very exciting year.
