Warriors Will Sign Klay Thompson, 4 Years, $10.4 Million Today

Guess who’s coming to practice?

The wait is about over for Klay Thompson. The Warriors first round pick, No. 11 overall, is expected to sign this morning and be allowed to practice today.

Per the new rookie scale, Thompson will get a four-year deal worth $10.4 million. The Warriors hold an option the last two seasons. Thompson will make just under $2.2 million this season.

    Now we just need to get Jeremy Tyler on the floor (seems like he needs a whole lot of work!) I love the way Klay shoots and handles the rock. I can’t wait until he puts on the bulk and strength required to guard and absorb the big strong 2′s and 3′s in this league.

    That’s great that the Warriors held out their rookies out of precious practice time so that they could sign… Kwame Brown!

    Klay will displace Wright by the end of January at the 3 and will be runner-up in the Rookie of the Year balloting.
