Warriors point guard Stephen Curry did not practice Tuesday due to his sprained right ankle and is officially listed as day-to-day. According to a team official, Curry has not been ruled out for Wednesday’s home game vs. the New York Knicks, as reported by USA Today.
Curry had an MRI on his surgically repaired right ankle Tuesday afternoon. The x-rays he took Monday night after Golden State’s win over Chicago came back negative, the team announced. Curry re-aggravated his injury midway through the fourth quarter and did not return.
If he sat out Wednesday’s game, he would have four days of rest and treatment since Golden State doesn’t play again until Saturday against visiting Philadelphia.

He’s not going to play. Warriors’ just trying to drum up ticket sales by saying he could play.

If Curry can’t go, who starts at point guard, Monta Ellis or backup Ish Smith. If it was me, with the Knicks size, I would go with Monta at the point, and Brandon Rush at the 2 in the absence of Curry. Then Ish Smith would spell Monta at the 1, Klay Thompson would spell Rush at the 2, McGuire backups D Wright at SF, Udoh the backup at PF and Kwame Brown the backup at C. Reserves will be PG Charles Jenkins, C Jeremy Tyler
Starters:
PG Toney Douglass
SG Landry Fields
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Amare Stoudemire
C Tyson Chandler
Starters:
PG Monta Ellis
SG Brandon Rush
SF Dorell Wright
PF David Lee
C Andris Biedrins
We may need Kwame Brown to get some major minutes to matchup with Chandler, cause Chandler will overmatch Biedrins for the most part inside. And Carmelo has some size, not height necessarily on Dorell Wright, a premier defender. David Lee has his 3rd tough draw in a row at PF. First it was Blake Griffin, then it was Carlos Boozer, now it is Amare Stoudemire. He was toe to toe with Griffin and outplayed Carlos Boozer. So maybe 3rd time will be a charm again.
