What to Watch For – Game #5

Monta is back. Curry is playing. All is back to normal in Warriors world.

Golden State won just 10 games on the road last year. They NEED to get off on the right foot on the road, which is possible against a struggling Phoenix squad.

Monta Ellis Ready to Go

Warriors guard Monta Ellis is in Phoenix with the team and will play in today’s game against the Suns.

Ellis – who was with the team for breakfast according to a Warriors spokesperson – missed Saturday’s loss to visiting Phoenix while attending his grandmother’s funeral. Mary Cole died Christmas morning at age 89. Ellis played the first three games while grieving.

In his absence, Golden State was routed by the 76ers, managing just 79 points on 38.2 percent shooting – at Oracle Arena, no less. Ellis is averaging 21 points and 7.7 assists.

Monta Ellis Expected to Play Monday

Warriors guard Monta Ellis, according to a team spokesperson, will join the team in Phoenix either tonight or tomorrow. Ellis is expected to play in Monday’s game at Phoenix.

But coach Mark Jackson stopped short of calling Ellis’ presence a guarantee.
